The reason good parenting is gone in this country is that parents are not allowed to discipline their children. Those that try are charged with a crime by our omni-present government.

As the parent of a handicapped child, we both suffered ridicule from the ignorant, but this is crazy! We learned to rise above stupid ridicule.
Freedom of speech and freedom of expression seems to have been ignored by the Judge, and as such he needs to be removed from the bench for violating the person´s freedom to act stupidly.

The man sentenced is 43 years old! HE IS the parent! He deserves to go to jail. Nothing else in his 43 years seems to have made an impression. Atta boy, your honor.

#5 and #7, the man did not break the law. He may be a horse´s patoot but his trangression was not criminal and he contends that his son was bullied by the girl´s family in the first place. We have no way of knowing. The courtroom is no place to handle this problem and if I were a Canton taxpayer I would be disgusted to know that my money was used for such a frivolous case. This is the type of behavior to be better dealt with by shunning the individual, not bringing in the police.

If he had been kneecapped on the spot and limped for six or eight months, then perhaps the joy of mocking would escape him in the future. He is not however a criminal, and kneecapping is a criminal act, but he would have been worthy of it.

This has been going on continuously, this was not a one time thing. This is how the grandmother was able to tape it.

The adult made a hostile environment for this little girl, and just like workplace hostility, people are protected by the law.

You CANNOT repeatedly create a hostile, intimidating environment in a public space.

While I don´t like big brother/nanny state, that is the law.

The guy was a jerk and deserved to go to jail.

That doesn´t mean it is good for our society that he DID go to jail. Allowing that kind of power to a judge is not in anyone´s best interest. The judge should be overruled and also fired.

Saying that he shouldn´t have been sent to jail is NOT the same thing as "being on his side." Taking a logical look at the end result of activist judges ruling to political correctness rather than the law does not make anyone a jerk.

Neighborhoods have (or used to have) ways of dealing with a jerk. It is also clear that only the people involved really have the history of both families to consider. Perhaps they really did finally have enough of being bullied by this family and were giving some back. Or perhaps not. We just can´t know and neither can that judge.

Normally, my libertarian principles would be opposed to this draconian punishment.

But in this case...yeah, jail is too good for him, the horsewhip would be more like it.

By the way, I don´t believe the maggot when he says HE was the bullied one. This is typical bullying behavior, this projecting, and it´s an aggravating factor in this man´s maggotry. I hope prison life is hard for him.

I was a bully once. I thought Charlie would be an easy mark, so I "went after" Charlie like the dog that I was.

Charlie was a farm boy far tougher than I imagined.

Once he had me on the ground looking up, he began to kick the breakfast out of me. He used considerable real estate to accomplish his mission of reinforcing his future safety.

Each of the two or more dozen kicks to my torso, and head, reminded me of what kind of behavior is acceptable in civil society.

Throughout Charlie´s exercise, he never said a word - but I got the message.

Neither one of us deserved jail, or a meeting with pistol packing authorities.

My bullying days were over and Charlie travels in a private jet these days.

I am glad he was given a trial. Not so sure he needed anything other than community service among the handicapped tho.
