Woman Embraced by Obama After Hurricane Sandy Hasn´t Received the Help She Needs

| It was almost a month ago that the New York and New Jersey coastlines were mercilessly pummeled by Hurricane Sandy. Immediately following the storm, the liberal media spin went into overdrive commending the leadership and compassion Obama displayed in the aftermath. But reports have been surfacing since the election, revealing how conditions in the afflicted regions are still not much improved and the majority of the broadcast media´s acknowledgement of their prolonged trials and tribulations has been minimal at best. For their part however, Fox & Friends welcomed Donna Vanzant on Tuesday morning´s program.

Donna served her purpose of allowing Obama to look like he cared. Now she expects compensation for her action? Like the rest of the country, Donna needs to realize that she is part of the cheering throng in the glorious procession of the Obamessiah. O Bama!
The Donnas of NJ will reappear next September- October in anti-Chris Cristie ads by his Democratic opponent for governor. "Christie abandoned us after Sandy." No mention will be made of Obama.

The first couple days were not fun, I´ll grant you. No electricity, roads blocked, travel restrictions. But that was to be expected. No worse than some snow storms in the past couple years.
I have two neighbors with blue roofs (tarps) now, and I´m still cutting downed trees each weekend, but if your house is livable, life is back to normal. If your house isn´t livable, be thankful this wasn´t a huricane and your normal deductible applies - your house could have caught on fire instead. The major difference is the problem isn´t limited to your house, it effects your neighbors for blocks around. The impact to you, however, is no different.
If you have insurance, this is a royal pain, but again, it is the normal deductible.
If you didn´t have insurance, well the only reason would be because you felt you could self insure, in which case the loss should be minimal, relatively speaking.
I´ll grant you our road department has been busy picking up trees and branches that are taken out to the curb, but they´ve been through every week (missed last week I noticed). If you need a dumpster, use some of the insurance payment.
Zero, and his friend Chris, can´t do much, other than order odd-even gas rationing, and help to move equipment and personnel. But my company was able to get tractor trailer sized generators from AL and Canada in place within 96 hours. JCP&L and the insurance company that has space in this complex had gas trucks from the mid west in the parking lot within a few days.
Crying to Zero and Chris are wasted tears.

When any hurricane hits, the legal battle begins on whether the property damage arose because of wind or rising water. The rising water is flood insurance which is a federal policy and only replaces the structure but not any of the finishing (baseboard, paint, wallpaper, crown molding, etc). A friend had a place in Bay St Louis which was hit by the eye of Katrina. All 4 walls were collapsed inward with the roof sitting on top. His insurance company said the damage was caused by water not wind. The feds said it was wind not water. He had to take the insurance company to court. I´ll bet this marina owner had no insurance at all.

Hours after the Lockerbie atrocity, Mrs Thatcher was wading through the carnage wrought by terrorists over a small Scottish town, paying her condolences to the bereaved. It had been a long and harrowing day, but when she arrived back in London late that night she still found time to phone me at home. Her voice was anxious, kind. She asked: ‘How is Ray, dear?’ The day before, my husband had suffered a serious accident and Mrs Thatcher had been characteristically solicitous, offering her car to run me home.

White House officials have decided to go ahead with annual garden tours this year despite sequester cuts, an official familiar with the decision tells POLITICO. Tours of the White House itself remained canceled because the cuts have left Secret Service short on manpower to staff them. But there will be enough agents to staff the garden tours, the official said. The tours are slated to happen this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will be able to view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden and South Lawn of the White House,

Arizona Gov. Janice Brewer has signed a law providing strong new restrictions on the use of so-called "seclusion rooms" in schools – closet-sized rooms where children with behavioral disabilities such as autism were being locked up as punishment. "It is chilling to imagine an Arizona school child being shut away in a padded room, no larger than a closet, for hours on end," Brewer said after signing the law Friday. "There has to be a better way." With the new law, Arizona will join more than 30 other states that impose rules on the restraint of students in public schools.

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Writing in the blog The Review, J.P. Freire performs a devastating examination of how the Associated Press eulogized former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Monday versus how the news service examined the legacy of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez upon his death. What Freire found was an evident sense of admiration for Chavez’s accomplishments as the Latin American state’s autocratic leader, but a distinct lack of respect for Thatcher’s achievements in office. “Love her or loathe her, one thing’s beyond dispute: Margaret Thatcher transformed Britain,” AP opened the former U.K. prime minister’s obituary on Monday.

Is ObamaCare the reform to end all other reforms? The massive health care law´s problems are well known. Major tax hikes and Medicare cuts will fund a massive new government program, rather than shore up the nation´s finances. ObamaCare already is encouraging companies to cut jobs and work hours. With the administration delaying the insurance exchanges that might help small businesses until 2015, even ObamaCare cheerleaders are growing worried. And the law will leave tens of millions of Americans without health coverage. That´s the best-case scenario,

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
