The most disturbing pre-election moment for me was when Obama told his supporters to vote for revenge. Add this Messiah business to the mix and we have a serious problem on our hands.

It´s one thing to have a bad economy where we all have to live with less. But when we can expect to be at each others´ throats, it only looks bleaker by the day.

No Christian man would let this kind of foolishness go unchallenged.

This phenomenon has gone past weird, ludicrous, alarming, infuriating and crazy. It is beginning to be interesting. It deserves careful study and reasoned analysis. There has been nothing quite like it in my lifetime. I am not sure there has ever been anything like it in modern times. There can be no doubt that such talk about Obama or any modern leader is pathological so far as res publica is concerned. It is not a good sign. But I cannot help myself: I am becoming more interested in it than scandalized by it. Whatever is going on here is important. America has until lately been resistant to such personality cults, with the possible exception of FDR. There is no doubt that the per cent of unintelligent, uneducated, unsophisticated voters is growing and this may contribute to such primitivism.

However, I have witnessed where the "God" complex is appropriate with a family friend of my parents.

The friend is a cardiac-surgeon, who at the time awhile ago in LA, CA was one of the few surgeons who would operate on AIDS patients (a time when many doctors would not operate on AIDS patients because of the fear of blood transfer).

He saved many lives. He never discussed his feats as Messiah, Lord or Savior, but he did discuss his responsibility to his patients, to his staff, to the families and friends that he held the life of the patient´s in "his hands" to do every thing he could to save the patient´s life.

Through his education, skill, training, intellect (also a former Marine) and risk he treated those that many surgeons would not.

This doctor did everything he could to make sure that injured soldiers from Viet Nam came home alive.

I have no doubt that there are many stories like mine with amazing results, but to bestow Messiah on a man who has zero accomplishments is an insult to not only our religion, armed forces, past and present, but also to those who have carved their own future independent of the "The One".

He mocks all the accomplishments of all of us from our past, present and future.

I would ask a question - why did Obama not have himself depicted as Muhammad? As a Christian he would believe Jesus Christ is above Muhammad in dignity but as a Muslim he would believe Muhammad is the greatest prophet. Why would he take second place having himself depicted as Jesus Christ?
