Well, the intent of the opening sentence seems to be a "hah, gotcha!" form the AP towards the Tea Party movement. Does anyone know if there statistic is true? Anyone know how many Tea Party newcomers were elected in 2012 into the House?

Here is a factoid from Columbia University at odds with the first sentence of the AP article: "Of the 55 members of the Tea Party caucus who ran for House seats on Nov. 6, at least 51 will return for the 113th Congress starting in January." So, that means a loss of 4, not the loss of 11 as claimed by the AP.
I´ve also read of at least 2 new members (just elected) of the House who are Tea Party people. Pretty good results for a year dominated by the Democrats voting for Obama.

A moderate is a person with no political principles for whom making a deal is the goal, not advancing the cause of their principles. In dealing with Democrats, the GOP must learn that Democrats will agree to nothing until you surrender your principles, and if after surrendering your principles they do agree to something, they will renege.
