Graham: I would violate
Norquist´s pledge

Politico, by Tim Mak

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 11/25/2012 10:59:36 AM

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Sunday that he would violate Grover Norquist´s anti-tax pledge for the good of the country by capping deductions -- only if Democrats in turn agree to entitlement reform. "I will violate the pledge for the good of the country -- only if Democrats will do entitlement reform," Graham said ABC´s "This Week," discussing a possible bipartisan compromise to avoid the fiscal cliff. "I will not raise tax rates to do it. I would cap deductions… I think Grover is wrong when it comes to capping deductions and buying down the debt."

The real question is how did Norquist, who leads an organization with i bet no more than a few thousand dues paying members, ever get to be in such a powerful position? Who elected this publicity seeker to anything?

I´m not for raising taxes, but the Republicans look ridiculous being dictated to by this punk.

Seriously, Lindey-poo.........

You would trust the Democrats to keep a promise ?

Here´s a game plan you may want to try:

´Entitlement Reform´ first; deductions caps in...oh, about 2-3 years.

... and besides, it´s Lucy and the football all over again. You can bet your life the tax increases will be chiseled into stone. The entitlement reform, well, that will go the way of welfare reform.

I say raise taxes and increase entitlements. The sooner the demolition, the sooner we can rebuild. Let´s stop dragging out the inevitable.

So agree, #5. What kind of "leader" binds himself forever and signs a pledge to a little nobody (or to anybody for that matter) to vote in a certain manner no matter how situations may change or what is best for his constituents and the country may change? Only someone who is thinking of nothing more than his next reelection campaign and is running scared. And I´m not for raising taxes either, but will not vote for anyone who let´s Norquist exert this kind of power over him/her. Why not just elect Norquist as a one member Republican Congresscritter for the party and send these weaklings home.

Graham and McCain, once again, showing that they have NO core principles.
How about a 50. cut in welfare payments, you know, so everyone "pays their fair share" if I must be bit in the butt, so should everyone. Sacrifice is always just for the makers, never for the takers.
We´re "all IN" now..make them feel a little pain.

Wild guess the money raised by higher taxes will be spent and not used to reduce the deficit. Democrats will promise to cut spending in the future but will only agree to cut military spending so nothing will get cut. The msm will blame the Republicans for the oncoming financial deficit cliff we´re going over. So very predictable.

If Republicans are interested in making pledges ´´for the good of their country,´´ then all Republican Senatorial candidates should pledge never to mention the words ´´abortion´´ and ´´rape,´´ particularly in the same sentence, and all Republicans in South Carolina should pledge to find an attractive Conservative Republican to oppose Lindsay Graham in his next re-election campaign.

And people wonder why we don´t have more Republicans in office. Hmmmm, well here´s one explanation up there. Why do Republican´s even get into these conversations?

On Tuesday morning, a plane owned in trust by the Bank of Utah showed up in a very visible area of the Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran. What was it doing there exactly? Nobody knows, reports The New York Times. Under President Barack Obama, the United States has eased some of the long-standing punitive economic sanctions against Iran. Still, very little American — or European — economic activity is allowed inside the religious theocracy. The Bank of Utah is certainly no Wells Fargo. First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.

Less than 16 hours after Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant, a lot of major news outlets started staring into the crystal ball of Chelsea’s womb, wondering what this currently floating zygotic multicellular being meant for the prospects of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, which is also a floating, zygotic, multicellular being. Their answer: The immaculately conceived Clinton child could mean everything. And no, it’s not just the fact that having a grandchild could be personally fulfilling to Hillary and Bill (mazel tov, by the way), or that a cute baby would be a sweet cherry on top of Hillary’s already

Remember when Lois Lerner, in answering a planted question at an American Bar Association conference, admitted the IRS had targeted conservative groups but tried to pass it off as the work of rogue agents — “our line people in Cincinnati”? Today we know there were indeed federal agents involved. But they weren’t rogue, and they weren’t confined to IRS workers in Cincinnati. Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by Judicial Watch, we now have an e-mail Lerner sent to colleagues noting the Department of Justice was looking into criminal prosecutions of these tax-exempt groups. We know something else, too. These investigations

The first step is admitting… It was a simple question to someone accustomed to much tougher ones: What was her proudest achievement as secretary of state? But for a moment, Hillary Rodham Clinton, appearing recently before a friendly audience at a women’s forum in Manhattan, seemed flustered.(Snip)So…no definitive successes and some clear-cut failures. And that’s the generous New York Times assessment. The Democrat fantasy story about Mrs. Clinton paints her as strong and accomplished on her own. In reality, this is a woman who is professionally defined almost entirely by two men in her life, both of whom happen to have
