Mark Levin in a rerun segment tonight had figures that confirm this. Going back to perhaps the early 1980s, voting I believe for national office, only one Republican ever won the Hispanic vote, and that was with 52% of the vote. Remainder were barely even close, favoring the Dems.

GOP to Hispanics: Keep one thing in mind. What the Democrat Party did for the black family, they can and will do to yours.

They are supposed to be a more "conservative" demographic. I doubt it. We´ll see.

What is the solution then? There has to be some pathway to some sort of legalization. The GOP needs to lead here. And Hispanics could/should be a large part of the party. They are going to be a huge part of the America´s future; we need them and they should need us too!

While I agree about the immigration issue being irrelevant. I totally disagree with this author´s statement that Hispanics are naturally Democrat constituents. That is baloney. I see absolutely NO reason why they would normally drawn to the Dems except that they have been propagandized and indoctrinated into believing the party has their best interests at heart. They don´t, however.

In my opinion, the pathway to legalization is I-5 to Tijuana or I-10 to Ciudad Juarez. Get in line and prove that we need your skills here, just like all other legal citizens. No rewards for illegal entrance.

Romney was absolutely correct on 2 things: the 47% and the gifts. You don´t need polls to tell you that the 47% are freeloaders!

"Keeping abortion legal"! The last I knew it is still legal in this country! So, they believed in the lies of democrats. Balkanization of the country is what democrats are doing. Take a look at England and see what that has done to the country.

#9, the 47% sweeps far too wide a brush. My family would count in that 47% because I house a disabled adult in the family who receives SSI. Yet the rest of the household works, pays taxes, and we all voted Republican - including the SSI recipient. Similarly, Republicans don´t magically turn into Democrats the day they start receiving either Social Security or Medicare. Writing off 47% of the population is fool-hardy, and referring to them all as "freeloaders" will never win friends.

Am surprised, because so many Hispanics are Catholic, that abortion on demand was a big issue, and still wonder at the validity. But for all those now crowing that we must change our stance on abortion, as far as I am concerned that is being hypocritical........especially in the case of live birth abortions. That is an issue so scandalous that nobody wants to touch it, say its name, and it is unconscionable!

Romney´s 47% comment has to be taken in the right perspective and read finely between the lines. Thats why it makes such an excellent sound bite - for the opposition. The average social security check is roughly $1200 per month, about half of which comes from the payments made by the recipient and the other half? Pure entitlement coming form those who have payed far more than the minimum required and taxes payed by current workers. This is inconvenient but true. The question really is do you get more from the government than you put in. And 47% seems about right

The vast majority of illegal aliens are poor people, who when they can find jobs earn a low wage, and they are generally uneducated people who come from socialist oriented countries and have large families.

If they are legalized they will gain the right to bring all their immediate foreign family members into the USA. In a few years under a liberal Democrat "path to citizenship" amnesty they would be able to bring their foreign parents here in unlimited numbers.

In order to survive here with the high cost of living, most of them will have to participate in the government provided social safety network of everything from food stamps to "free" health care as there are not enough good paying jobs in this country anymore to support such a massive population of uneducated and unskilled people.

These many millions of illegal aliens have been indoctrinated since coming here by the many ethnic and immigrant advocacy groups who are politically allied to the liberal Democrats that the Republicans will take away those government social welfare benefits and services and that the liberal Democrats will maximize those social welfare benefits and services.

They have also been told and have learned that although it was Republican business interests for cheap labor purposes who allowed mass uncontrolled illegal immigration to get up a head of steam in the first place while talking a good game of immigration enforcement, that it is the liberal Democrats who will not enforce the immigration laws at all.

It is fool´s gold for Republicans to believe that more then a very small minority of the massive illegal alien population group who the liberal Democrats want to legalize will ever vote for conservative Republicans.

If hispanics were a natural Republican consituency, California would be the reddest of red states. They aren´t, and it isn´t.

So what if they´re catholic and pro-family. They still vote Dem and will because they´re huge users of our welfare system into the third generation. They´ll continue to vote for their freebies.

So immigrants come from Latin America, obtain a drivers license and sign up to vote via motor voter. Even if they have a permit to work, they still vote.

The federal government tracks them down and provides all of the various Democrat give away payments - SNAP, rent subsidies, utility subsidies, free health care.

So when the time comes to vote, they are told that the Democrats furnished all the money to them. How could they vote against the ones responsible for taking care of them?
