This so called balanced approach is nothing but political rhetoric.These people always back themselves against false deadlines so people are relieved when a deal gets cut,even though it´s against the country´s best interest.The 5 knuckle shuffle of taxes is pure foolishness. Let´s raise taxes without anyone realizing it. Let´s cut spending 5 years from now, other wise we might have a double dipper.The real budget busters are all forms of welfare spending on rich and poor people.Meanwhile the idiots in the middle bear all the costs.

The first battle for the "republicans" is to come to grips with the idea that the USA is no longer. Once they realize that we now have a majority in this country who are demanding that someone, anyone other than themselves, take care of them, THAT is what the new republican party will have to deal with. They are well on the road to that destination. Pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-higher taxes, pro-larger government, pro-illegal amnesty....actually anything the dems are already doing. And the pubbies will never catch up with a political party that has been on the road of immorality and corruption for decades.

The first house republican who talks about a deal is the traitor.

As idiots proliferate it is a fool´s errand to expect sanity. In the past Mother Nature would rid herself of fools by having them walk on thin ice in winter. Now they sit all comfy and pampered in their lives as takers.

Obama actually said the raising the top tax bracket would take care of half the deficit. The real number is 0 to 10%.

The `fiscal cliff` begins in roughly 38 days. Hardly enough time for a `debate`. Minus weekends, most Friday`s and the Christmas holiday`s, Congress has maybe 14 days to fix a massive problem. If past experience means anything, my guess is Washington will screw this up like they do everything else. I``m expecting to be much poorer in 2013 than I was in 2012. At this point the best that will happen is a 3 to 6 month extension of the current tax rates.

It is called the "Countdown Budget".

It works like this: in 2013 we allow for 10 months of deficit spending; in 2014 we allow for 9 months of deficit spending; in 2015 we allow for 8 months of deficit spending, and so on down to a balanced budget in 2022.
