Why was there war in Gaza?
Washington Post, by Charles Krauthammer

Why was there an Israel-Gaza war in the first place? Resistance to the occupation, say Hamas and many in the international media. What occupation? Seven years ago, in front of the world, Israel pulled out of Gaza. It dismantled every settlement, withdrew every soldier, evacuated every Jew, leaving nothing and no one behind. Except for the greenhouses in which the settlers had grown fruit and flowers for export. These were left intact to help Gaza’s economy — only to be trashed when the Palestinians took over. Israel then declared its border with Gaza to be an international

Why? Because muslims hate Jews and want them wiped off the face of the earth. That´s it in a nutshell. It´s not exactly a secret as they have said so out loud for years and continue to do so.

They took over the Gaza to use as a launching pad closer to the border.

When they finally occupy Israel and wipe out the Jews, guess who´s next on the list ?

So far Israel has only used non nuclear weapons, but if,in a future war they start to lose, they´ll still have their nuclear arsenal ready to be used. Once this point is reached, Israel could sure incinerate the whole middle east?

My question is why did Israel cede Gaza to the terrorists in the first place? Look at a map. Is there any better launching pad for missiles into Israel? It was partly pressure from the USA. I think the US should sign a mutual defense pact with Israel which, NATO like would guarantee to come to armed defense against any attack from Gaza.

There was a war in Gaza because Obama was re-elected. Muslims know Obama is on their side and they have nothing to fear. Elections have consequences. As soon as Hamas is resupplied with rockets it will start again.

After Obama´s covert and overt support of the Muslim Brotherhood (and similar) takeover of Egypt and Libya, the Palestinians and their European supporters apparently figured that they could invade Israel with impunity. They counted on the the cheers of Europe and the passive approval of the Obama Administration to ensure an easy victory. They reckoned without the resolve of Israel. When it looked as if the Palestinians, not the Israelis, were about to be driven into the sea, peace broke out.

Putting a better spin on this, perhaps Israel has bigger fish to fry? They have absorbed and depleted much of Hamas´ rocket/missile inventory. The Israelis handled Hamas with despatch. Perhaps this is a defanging of their left flank to ease pressure for the upcoming attack on Iran? The Gaza incident involved primarily the air defense and ground forces, which will play a reduced role in an air attack on Iran. The Israelis will restock their "Iron Dome". The trick will be to deny this to Hamas.

Israel foolishly gave Gaza back to the terrorists, likely due to US and "world opinion" pressure. Gained them nothing. Hopefully Israel will reoccupy Gaza after its dust-up with Iran. Screw the world opinion stuff, Israel will never be tolerated by the muzzies or "the world".

The BBC News continually refers to Hamas ´officials.´ Since when are terrorists ´officials´? Does the BBC consider Zawahiri to be an al Qaeda ´official´? Is Osama bin Ladin considered to be a deceased al Qaeda ´official´?
Does the BBC respect terrorists? Apparently the answer is yes.

The Israeli´s new strategy is, Speak softly and carry a big Iron Dome, while Hamas seems to have adopted the srategy of, Yell loudly and pretend you´ve had a great victory while standing in the rubble of the many buildings Israel has destroyed along with the lives of 30 top Hamas leaders.

Thirty-five hundred years ago, God delivered the Israelites from Egypt when he parted the Red Sea; now, with another miracle, this time an amazing military invention that repels missile attacks, God has delivered his people from an Egyptian-sponsored terrorist organization.

Why war in Gaza? Israel, our "Outpost of Freedom" in the Middle East, is : (A) A tiny nation state with a population of only 7,933,200 souls (B) Has an Arab (Muslim, Druze) population of 1,636,600 (20.6%) (C) A land area of less than 9,000 square miles and (D) Is surrounded by over 300,000,000 Arabs intent, for the most part, of wiping the tiny "beacon light of freedom" from the face of the earth!

I think it was completely contrived in order for O and Hillary to look good ´negotiating´ the ceasefire. All part of the plan. Their criminality at Benghazi will never be prosecuted. They will never be held accountable. They just keep on, pretenders that they are, failing to defend this nation and its allies but protected by a corrupt press and a nation that has been neutered by fixed elections.

This particular flare up started because the Israelis blew up the Hamas military boss.
The Israelis blew up the Hamas military boss because he was attacking Israel.
The Israelis ceded Gaza because it can not be held (population) and it is impossible to defend militarily (look at the map).
Gaza can´t be a Palestinian state because the Israelis are blockading it.
The Israelis are blockading it because they don´t want the Palestinians to bring in more weaponry than they already do.
The rationale is fairly straight forward and simple. The CAUSES are what is difficult to reconcile. It´s not math, it´s calculus.

The White House is claiming that President Obama’s celebratory speech this afternoon in the Rose Garden was not a “victory lap” but it was clear to everyone who watched the address that it was more of a touchdown dance than a sober evaluation of the implementation of his signature health care law. Given the mistake-filled rollout of ObamaCare, the fact that the numbers reported by the government indicated that it had exceeded the seven million goal that had been set as the goal for the open enrollment period, the administration felt it had good reason to spike the ball and

A RAND study pours buckets of cold water on the Obama administration’s claims that it has nearly reached 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. The whole point of Obamacare, supposedly, was to insure the uninsured and bend the cost curve down. Those who had insurance were supposed to be able to keep it. Families were supposed to start saving about $2500 a year. If you believed the Obama administration. Reality, according to RAND‘s study, is that the Obama administration’s 7 million figure is deceptive. Supposing 7 million have actually signed up and paid their first premium — which is not a given,

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.

Spanish historians say they have discovered what Monty Python could not – the Holy Grail, the legendary cup Jesus supposedly drank from at the Last Supper. The Spaniards – Margarita Torres and José Ortega del Río – believe the 2,000-year-old vessel is in a church in León in northern Spain. The pair spent three years studying the history of the chalice and last week published a book, “The Kings of the Grail,” making their case. The onyx chalice, they explained, was concealed within another antique vessel known as the Chalice of Doña Urruca, which is located in León’s basilica of

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is "looking" at banning the sale of tobacco at military installations. According to one military publication, Hagel appears to support it. "As the Navy considers banning tobacco sales on all bases and ships, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel gave a strong endorsement of the review Monday, and suggested that he would be in favor of a ban," reports Stars and Stripes. “I don’t know if there’s anybody in America who still thinks that tobacco is good for you,” Stars and Stripes quotes Hagel as saying. “We don’t allow smoking in any of our government buildings.
