The controversial Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, who helped scuttle John Kerry’s 2004 White House bid, are ready to launch torpedoes if the Bay State senator is nominated to a Cabinet post in the Obama administration, with one foe calling the whole idea an “abomination.” “We’re not too old to fight,” said Alvin Horne, a Vietnam veteran and a key member of the Swift Boat group, whose barrage of attack ads sought to discredit Kerry’s military record during the 2004 campaign. “If the commonwealth wants to send Bozo the Clown to (the) Senate they can do it Link repaired by staff
Here is a dose of reality for you people. Harry Reid has already said that the 60 vote rule in the senate to override a veto is being changed. (I would guess he will reduce it to 51 - in a move that he and other democrats were critical of, calling it the nuclear option.) I also believe the informal rule of allowing any senator to put a hold on a nomination will also disappear. That means President Zero will be able to nominate Jon Cary on a monday, and by the next monday, cary will be secretary of defense. The same thing will happen with judicial appointees. Get ready for it. We are doomed.
This military family has donated and will do so again, very happily. These men are heroes for speaking up. Kerry can keep his sorry butt in MA with the Stone woman. Patriots shouldn´t put up with these types. Tired of being polite.
It´s bad enough the (D)-uh-Masses elected this lying scum. Here is another dose of reality: Ms Lindsey was asked by Hannity how he would vote for Jon Cary to Cabinet level and he replied something to the effect the president is entitled to the cabinet he chooses.(All the while he´s raising hell about Susan Rice-HUH!?)Any bets on how McCain will vote on his good buddy?
I´m opposed to ex-military people being put in charge of the Pentagon to begin with,it´s clearly supposed to be a civilian position. But on top of that you can´t have a rabidly anti-war person being in charge of the military,it would cloud the judgment of when we need to intervene.
JOOO-OOhhhhhnnn "Moron" Kerry thinks the US Army was a ´monster´ that was unleashed during the Vietnam War. The names of 50,000 members of that ´monster´ are inscribed on the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC. They died because America sent them to fight. They obeyed and gave everything.

John Fraud Kerreee ought to have gone to Leavenworth in 1971 for what he did in Paris. But our Republicans then had no more cajones to start that up than they do now.
And, he ought to STILL BE in prison.
We have been invaded from within. And with his nomination as SecDef, our bravest and best will likely leave their respective forces, and poseurs will be brought in to take their places. We will then have been effectively conquered from within.
I know my son won´t stay. He´s already looking elsewhere.

As of 2011, the black Viet Nam Wall has 58,272 names, unless more have been added during 2012.
Barry and most of the Dem Senators don´t care about the outrage Juan Fraud Cary´s nomination would invoke. They won. I´m sure they feel that the new, young voters don´t care about Viet Nam history - they care more about Sandra Fluke´s ability to have her birth control for free. Heck, these new, young voters don´t care about why the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been fought.
If another 9/11 on our soil happens during Obozo´s reign, he´ll probably surrender our country to whomever hits us. There won´t be any retaliation a la George W. Bush. Patriotism is almost a thing of the past, no matter how red the electoral map looks.
The Bay State´s Senior Senator, and Ms. Jane Fonda´s former Aide-de-Camp/horse holder for Secretary of Defense?.......During The Revolutionary War the "powers to be" also thought having Benedict Arnold in charge of the fortifications at West Point was a "cool" idea!

Benedict Arnold is the perfect example of the peril of giving a prima donna authority for any military matter. He felt slighted after the battle of Saratoga, he thought he should be further up the ladder of command, and because of a personal pique and desire for revenge he sold out his country and those men under his command.
Think about it. How many connections can you see with BHO?
The Swifties are certainly not “controversial” with me. I cheered when they threw Kerry overboard, and look forward to them doing it again.
But . . .there’s a lot of talk in MA that Kerry being given a DC job is a great opportunity for Scott Brown to run again. I don’t think it’s worth his time or trouble. The chances of the MA Democrats not being able to create out of whole cloth another dipstick Dem candidate like Elizabeth Warren is 0 to none. MA Democrats would vote for the dog on Romney’s car roof if they were told to. Cripes, they would send anybody in the MA legislatures in a heart beat. Coup Deval is panting to relocate. Or Mumbles Menino can be shipped to DC, still in his hospital bed. Maybe they would get Fidel Castro to establish a two week residency here and run a campaign all in Spanish. The Dems are not going to let Scott Brown win.
Right before the end of the 2004 election, it was rumored that a defense dept type was going to reveal this traitor´s discharge status. I kept waiting, but then it didn´t matter--whatever happened with that? Also, the lsm is constantly referring to "swiftboat lies". I never heard of one lie, but they keep saying it so that makes it so....amazingly, we´ve elected a guy who hangs with terrorists, now we´re going to accept a traitor as Sec of Defense???? I´m sick. Go Swiftboaters...
Expect to hear requests for the SF 198. It was promised but never signed. This would allow a peep into John F´n Kerry´s actual (rather than fictional) service record. How do you get a Silver Star, with V for valor, issued by three different signers, for killing an unarmed teenage kid by shooting him in the back? How do you negotiate with an enemy and escape punishment? Oh, there are so many questions! And so little time!
It was November 12th. His wife was on the phone and she was reading an email that she had just received from her boss at Sallie Zetterower Elementary School in Statesboro, Ga. “As of today, if you have a Bible verse on your school email and/or Bible verse posted in the classroom, please remove it immediately,” the email read. But it was the next part of the email that made Mr. Cook tremble. “If a student-led prayer is initiated, you must remove yourself and step away from the group,” the email read. Mr. Cook told me in a telephone interview that he was dumbfounded. “They have to physically turn their back
(Anchorage) In the three weeks since the U.S. Indian Law & Order Commission chastised Alaska for opposing Natives who want their own village cops and courts, chairman Troy Eid says he´s been called a radical and an outsider who shouldn´t be sticking his nose where it doesn´t belong. Eid swept aside such criticism Wednesday when the commission officially presented its report in Anchorage. He declared that Alaska "was on the wrong track" and that public safety and security were so bad in rural Alaska, especially for women and children, that it had become a national disgrace. Continued global warming poses a risk of rapid, drastic changes in some human and natural systems, a scientific panel warned Tuesday, citing the possible collapse of polar sea ice, the potential for a mass extinction of plant and animal life and the threat of immense dead zones in the ocean. At the same time, some worst-case fears about climate change that have entered the popular imagination can be ruled out as unlikely, at least over the next century, the panel found. These include a sudden belch of methane from the ocean or the Arctic that would fry the planet, as
For as long as anyone can remember, teachers at Brooklet Elementary School have posted Christmas cards in the hallways outside their classrooms – until Monday. When boys and girls returned from Thanksgiving break, they discovered that their teachers’ Christmas cards had been removed – under orders from the Georgia school’s administration. Robb Kicklighter’s wife is a third grade teacher at the school. He said many teachers are disgruntled by the school’s decision to confiscate the Christmas cards. “They took down the cards so the kids can’t see them,” he told me. “Some of the cards had the word ‘Christmas’ and
A stunning 40 percent of the staff at the state agency that oversees the glitch-plagued, befuddling $69 million Obamacare website earn six-figure salaries, according to payroll numbers obtained by the Herald. Some 21 of the 53 employees at the Massachusetts Health Connector make more than $100,000 a year, even as Bay Staters struggle to sign up for health care through a website beset by slow speeds and technical difficulties and a call center with frequently long hold times. Topping the list is Executive Director Jean Yang, who is pulling down $179,243. Chief Operating Officer Roni Mansu earns $178,415, while General
Washington - US President Barack Obama called Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu on Sunday from Air Force One to discuss the interim agreement struck between world powers and Iran over its controversial nuclear program. In the call, Obama told Netanyahu that the P5+1 — the US, United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany — would use the next several months to forge a "lasting, peaceful and comprehensive" solution to the slow-motion nuclear crisis causing consternation throughout the Middle East. (Snip) Netanyahu on Sunday called the deal, hailed by the US, a "historic mistake" that would make the region more
The state’s $69 million Obamacare website is “overbudget,” has missed deadlines and now is bringing in eleventh-hour engineering assistance from Oracle, in the face of looming cutoff dates that could force some to go without health insurance, the Herald has learned. The fix comes after the Herald reported Saturday a mere 1 percent of applicants facing canceled health plans had managed to enroll in Obamacare plans through the state’s website, with just weeks before many plans ?expire Dec. 31. Gov. Deval Patrick yesterday brushed off any concerns about the system. “No, none at all,” said Patrick when asked if he
OTTAWA — Canada’s top court today begins hearing arguments in a historic case that will determine how — or if — the much-maligned, scandal-plagued Senate can be reformed or abolished. Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government has asked the Supreme Court to advise whether it can proceed unilaterally to impose term limits on senators and create a process for electing them. It has also asked the court to determine whether outright abolition of the upper chamber could be accomplished with the approval of just seven provinces, representing 50 per cent of the population. The vast majority of provinces argue that the constitutional hurdles should
In April 2012, Iran announced that it had uncovered a spy ring numbering 15 operatives working at the behest of Israel. Iranian authorities fingered the operatives as being responsible for the killings of nuclear scientists in recent years. Tehran had long suspected the Mossad as the mastermind of these operations. In announcing the arrests, Iran touted the apprehension of “Zionist spies” and the revelations regarding “Zionist” intelligence activity in a neighboring country. The announcement, which didn’t garner much attention at the time, takes on added importance Thursday just hours after The Washington Post reported that Turkish intelligence revealed the identities of
Srtaten Island - Cardinal Timothy Dolan will celebrate mass Sunday at St. Joseph Hill Academy in Staten Island, where a suspicious fire broke out Saturday morning. Dolan´s visit is part of a previously planned event to mark the 100th anniversary of the Daughters of Divine Charity. The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the blaze, which broke out at about 5:30 a.m. at the convent on Hylan Boulevard in the Arrochar section. Six people were injured, including four firefighters and two nuns. One of the nuns, age 45, jumped from a second-floor window to escape the fire,
WASHINGTON -- The crabbers are getting, well, crabby. With the offices of the National Marine Fisheries Service closed because of the federal government shutdown, fishermen have been unable to get permits for the Alaska king crab season, which begins Tuesday. "Instead of a fiscal cliff, right now we´re facing a fishing cliff in the Bering Sea unless Congress acts before the season is scheduled to start on Oct. 15," said Rep. Suzan DelBene, a Democrat from Washington state. "This is the first time in my 28 years of fishing that I haven´t been in the Bering Sea in October getting ready to go
She’s reportedly waiting until 2014 before she starts thinking about 2016, but Hillary Clinton, according to one national poll, is your front runner for the White House — by a wide margin. And Elizabeth Warren is your fastest rising star. The former secretary of state and first lady dominated last week’s new Quinnipiac University survey, which showed her gobbling up 61 percent of support and beating any Republican challenger — be it New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul or Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz — by anywhere from 13 to 23 points. But no one in Headline corrected by Staff.
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
Fox News host Megyn Kelly has made herself the center of a racial controversy by declaring that Jesus Christ and Santa Claus are white. On Wednesday night, Kelly was responding to an article by Slate writer Aisha Harris, who wrote an article entitled “ Santa Claus Should Not Be a White Man Anymore .” The popular news host told viewers of “The Kelly File,” her hit FNC program, “When I saw this headline, I kinda laughed and I said, ‘Oh, this is ridiculous. Yet another person claiming it´s racist to have a white Santa.’ And by the way, for all you kids
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
Columnist Charles Krauthammer attacked new Obamacare rules unveiled by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a late Thursday conference call, saying the Obama administration is “approach[ing] banana republic lawlessness” by issuing the decrees. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’ Bret Baier on a panel with Juan Williams and Judge Andrew Napolitano, as the three reacted to Sebelius’ new directives for insurance companies. “This is exactly a reaction to a deep understanding among Democrats that [Obamacare] is a train wreck,” he said. “And it’s a panic reaction. As the judge said, this is utterly lawless. This now approaches banana republic lawlessness.
WASHINGTON – It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the budget deal.“Embrace the suck,” House minority leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats Thursday morning, a source told Politico.“We need to get this off the table so we can go forward,” she added. It’s a way of telling her colleagues the budget deal negotiated with Republicans is the best they can get. Democrats are fuming that the bipartisan budget deal doesn’t extend unemployment benefits for more than a million Americans. One of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said Thursday it
THE Internet has been abuzz over the spectacle of President Obama and the prime ministers of Britain and Denmark snapping a photo of themselves — a “selfie,” to use the mot du jour — with a smartphone at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela in South Africa on Tuesday. Leaving aside whether it was appropriate, the moment captured the democratization of image making that is a hallmark of our gadget-filled, technologically rich era. Manifestly undemocratic, in contrast, is the way Mr. Obama’s administration — in hypocritical defiance of the principles of openness and transparency he campaigned on — has systematically tried
If you go down on the ice today you´re sure of a big surprise - a rare glimpse of 20 polar bears gorging on a bloody midnight feast. These photographs show a rare cluster of males, females and cubs all dining out on the remains of a whale carcass. They spent a night and a day stripping every last morsel from the mammoth sea creature. Usually Polar bears are solitary and would never tolerate being so close to each other. But with food in plentiful supply and bellies dragging on the floor they seem too lethargic to fight.Wildlife photographer Michal
The Sexiest Man Alive is being enlisted to spice up Obamacare. Pop singer Adam Levine, who won the designation from People magazine last month, is among the celebrities who’ll be promoting enrollment in online health insurance exchanges as part of a social media campaign kicking off tomorrow. With enrollment totals behind administration projections after the botched start-up of the federal exchange, 17 state exchanges joined by an advocacy group are drawing on Obama administration allies in entertainment and sports to promote sign-ups, using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Reprising a tactic President Barack Obama successfully employed in his 2012 re-election, organizers
Fearing that many people will think they have health insurance coverage when they do not, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is "urging" insurance companies to "give consumers additional time to pay their first month´s premium and still have coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2014." Insurance companies should cover people who haven´t yet paid, in other words. With just a few weeks to go until Obamacare takes full effect, Sebelius announced additional changes on Thursday, some that tell insurance companies how to run their business and others that "strongly" encourage insurance companies to waive their rules -- on premium payments,
A South African government minister has said that "a mistake happened" in the hiring of a sign language interpreter accused of gesticulating nonsense during the Nelson Mandela memorial service. Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu said that officials have tried to track down the company that provided Thamsanqa Jantjie but that the owners "have vanished into thin air". Earlier on Thursday Jantjie claimed he is qualified but was hallucinating and hearing voices and said he is receiving treatment for schizophrenia. Millions of TV viewers saw Jantjie interpreting speeches by Barack Obama and other global leaders at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg. His gestures baffled and angered deaf
