Barack Obama’s open mockery
of the Sign of the Cross

Canada Free Press, by Judi McLeod

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 11/22/2012 10:05:47 AM

‘Father Barack Obama‘ mocked the Sign of the Cross at the White House yesterday. It was an open mockery of the Christian prayer that is accompanied by the immortal words used by peasants and kings over the centuries: “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”. Obama, who is right-handed, made the sign of the cross with his left hand, which out of respect for the centuries-long Christian practice, no one ever does. Obama’s left-handed sign of the cross was made over a gobbling turkey during the National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation Ceremony,

Comments:
While 0bama is not a true Christian, his outright public blasphemy of a Catholic symbol will not sit well with God for our Nation. Remember, as our elected leader, 0bama may incite the wrath of God on US like a nuclear explosion. Whoever is in the blast zone is effected.

Makes you wonder what Christmas "surprise´´ he has for US true believers? BTW, don´t think that 0bama mentioned God in Thanksgiving "message" today.

Wait a minute... What makes anyone think obama has the first clue about his actions?

I saw the video of our "Home Boy" Prez pardoning those turkeys. No, he didn´t pardon Rice and Petraeus, he pardoned real turkeys.

In the video he went to bless the turkeys, pretending he was The Pope. Unfortunately, half-way through the blessing he had to look to his left to see how to finish the blessing. He could not even pretend to be The Pope without "off-screen" instructions.

He is the most clueless buffoon to ever be President of the USA, if you watch his actions.

Quite a few non-Catholics that I know use their left hands to make the sign of the Cross and I know for a fact that they aren´t Muslim. I don´t like him any better than any one else here, but I refuse to give him so much importance in my life. He´s just an ignorant fool and his daughters still think he´s funny.

0bama is left-handed, but that´s still no excuse. Probably about 10% of priests are left-handed and they use their right hand to make the sign of the cross.

What a clueless putz.

I´ll give the 0bama the benefit of the doubt on this one and assume he was trying to be funny rather than mock Christians.

The pardon for the turkey didn´t last long. The turkey got sick immediately after being around obama and his off-springs and it is reported the turkey had to be euthanized. One wonders what type of illness he might be the "carrier".
This definitely proves: His Word or Promises Don´t Carry any Substance. Always Subject to Change!

The right hand left hand thing doesn´t bother me, it´s just the fact that he used a comical ceremony to express his atheistic contempt for the Catholic faith. You can just imagine what he says in private.

I´ve been saying this since the beginning. The man is the Anti-Christ, the false Anti-Christ came first, Osama bin Laden, a lot of people thought he was the Anti-Christ, but as it is to be it turns out he was the false one followed by the REAL DEAL. I am not a hyper Christian or anything like that, but I am firm in my beliefs and this is one of them. It usually falls on deaf ears.

the ´´euthanized´´ turkey was last year´s - no one would say where he ended up, I´d bet on a platter.

I saw the vid of the presidential turkey pardon. When he made the sign of the cross over the birds I waited a few beats for lightning. At first I wanted to believe he was just ignorant. Then reality took my brain back under control and I realized that he´s mocking. Without a doubt...

Being left handed is irrelevant. One NEVER makes the sign of the cross w one´s left. Biblical admonitions about the right hand of God and the sign of sonship and blessedness ( ring olaced on right hand of orodigal son ) etc are the basis for this. Ø mocks Orthodox and Catholic traditins. "Be ye not deceived , for the Lord God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. ". He who has big jug ears to hear, let him hear. Or choose not to. It s all up to the Ø.

The sad reality is that in any given Mass you can find a poorly catecheted young adult who makes the sign of the cross with his left hand. And no one corrects him.

#18: Yes, he´s left handed and totally ignorant. And I agree with you with one question.

The question is: why did he even bother to do a sign of the cross? Is that part of the ritual of the pardon? I am Episcopalian but was raised in different protestant denominations. I still have a hard time remembering to make the sign in church. Why did he make a sign that has nothing to do with the occasion or the denomination he practices? I still think it was a form of mockery, but not the left-handed part. That was just a physical inclination.

The president has pardon power, enshrined in the U.S. constitution. That power is not religiously related. making the sign of the cross is offensive under those circumstances with the turkeys - something a h.s. punk would do.
And - I was raised a Catholic, and I am left handed. And no one makes the sign of the cross with the left hand, unless they do not have a right hand.

President Zero likes to do that subtle mocking of Christianity. His muslim upbringing is the source of that mocking.

He wasn´t making the sign of the cross. He was giving a blessing to the turkey. In the traditional sign of the cross, I touch my forehead with my right hand (for The Father), my heart (for The Son) and myself -- both shoulders for the Holy Spirit and to complete the cross. I´ve never seen anyone but a priest or deacon give the blessing to someone or something else. Makes no sense to me (a Catholic who can´t stand the sight of him). BTW, we have lots of lots of CINO´s in the Catholic faith. And lots of cafeteria Catholics too. A true practicing Catholic could never vote for him.

He makes the sign of the cross over the turkey and it gets so sick it has to be put down? I think God or his angels are trying to tell us something in these little signs as I do not believe in coincedence. The presidential seal fell off the podium, the rodent ran across in front of the podium, a fly landed on his face during an interview, these are ones that come to mind, and now the turkey is dead after a blessing. Beezelbub.

Just an observation, but the Moslems consider the left hand to be the "unclean" hand. They use the left to clean their backsides after defecating...

So, using the left is insult. Hence, the reason they take off the right hand of a thief.

I think 0bama knew exactly what he was doing. And, all his Moslem brothers are howling in delight.

46, Eastern Orthodox make e sign of the cross e original way. We predate the roman church by 1000 years. Roman church changed the form of making the cross to left to Ruth from original right shoulder to left. And we have never stopped holding thumb and first two fingers together to symbolize the Holy Trinity, w last 2 fingers down for the Divine and human Natures of Christ. Why did Romans change to open hand and left to right ? May seem silly to some, but we have kept the faith unchanged for 2000 years. Dogma and practice. Christ is timeless for Orthodox Christians and His message is even more relevant and needed today than ever before Changing the liturgy and dogma to suit modern times for our convenience is what has led to those of millions of adherents.

Reply 51 - Posted by: BlueSkies, 11/22/2012 3:41:06 PM     (No. 9029662)

To make the sign of the Cross "humorously" IS mocking. There was no reason for a nonreligious person to "bless" the turkey; the gesture is totally inappropriate and could only be intended to mock, and using the left hand only made it more so. It´s just more evidence of his juvenile uncouthness, like giving people the finger. He´s a disgrace to the office of President.

"They" would be cicadas, the big, noisy bugs that climb out of the earth about every decade and a half to make everyone´s life more exciting. They´re largely harmless, but their sheer numbers can cause headaches. Some areas could see as many as a billion of the cicadas per square mile. That can lead to a lot of dead bugs all over roadways

In 2011, a little-known group called GOProud was a sponsor of the Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual marquee event for the right. A staunchly right-wing, fiscally conservative group that also promoted a pro-life message, GOProud seemed like a great fit for the event. There was just one problem: GOProud´s main function was as a gay-rights group. Enter Cleta Mitchell. Mitchell was, and is, on the board of the American Conservative Union, which runs CPAC. After calls from angry social-conservatives who threatened to boycott the event if GOProud was allowed to

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Margaret Thatcher, the first female British Prime Minister who gained worldwide renown as the Iron Lady has died aged 87. Developing a formidable partnership with President Ronald Reagan during the 1980s, Mrs. Thatcher stood up to the ´Evil Empire´ of the Soviet Union, eventually witnessing its collapse. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary
