Atheists cry foul over ‘A
Charlie Brown Christmas’

Charlie Brown’s Christmas is on the outs at an elementary school in Little Rock, Ark. — at least among atheists who are calling foul over a planned student trip to see a stage production of the beloved Peanuts story. The trouble began when students at Terry Elementary School brought home letters detailing the trip to see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at a local church, according to a report from Arkansas’ KARK. A parent who had a problem with the play’s content notified the local atheist group of the field trip. (Snip) “The problem is that it’s got religious content

So they are afraid their kids will turn religious? Do they believe they will never be "confronted" with religion? And what is "atheism" other than another form of religon believing man is god?

It´s time to take a bunch of Atheists out on a lone, dark road and let a couple of guys try that Charlie Brown football kick to the part of man´s body where it hurts.

Came home from work and sat down to eat. The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving started on TV and just like every year she pulled the ball away from him.

Sometimes we miss the good old days where some dark alley justice would take care of these grinches.

What gives atheists the right to dictate what children can see? Keep your child home and don´t ruin it for the rest of them.

Last time I looked, atheists were a very small percentage of the population.

Charlie Brown Christmas is my favorite of all the cartoons, especilally the Luke recitation. It´s time we Christians start fighting back.

I´m torn between wanting to smack these people around and feeling most sad and sorry for them. What kind of odd duck objects to the VERY REASON that a holiday exists? How do these poor souls even explain this to their kids? The whistle blower mom could have just kept her child home, no one except the administration would have had to know why the kid was not in class or part of the field trip. I know, I know - they don´t believe the same as we do. I got it. But because they have raised their children clearly in opposition to 75-80% of the rest of the country, they believe it is their prerogative to object to the holiday for the vast majority.

These sad sacks deserve our pity. They don´t know what they don´t know...

Anybody have the cojones to finally put a stop to these single digit offense takers ruling our world?

They have no strength if they´re not given it. And that´s all they have - what they´ve been given.

They have not the strength to demand, but ask in a loud voice and people shrink at their volume - they have no power but what was conceded to them.

Words spoken cannot hurt, compel, demand with reward, or otherwise accrue any desired conclusion, unless allowed by eunuchs fleeing their own defenses.

This isn´t an endorsement of a particular religion but more of an explanation as to the reason for the season. This presentation is an educational lesson for the festival of Christmas.

"Gee Daddy, what is Christmas?" "I´m sorry Son. That is a cultural festival based on beliefs you are not allowed to be exposed to."

Sounds like censorship to me. How about using the same logic on the Homosexual agenda?

It take 100 more faith to believe in the gaps in the fossil record than believe in Christ.

A bird may, by genetics, pass traits to have a longer beak, but it never became a bear (anothe species). Yes, you see the fossil record never shows one species becoming another (Darwin had a good guess).

Mrs. Voxlapidis has an elegant solution.

The parents of the children who want their kids to see CB should keep them out of school that day and take them to the movie.

This action will effect school attendance which in return will effect funding for the school.

The atheists´ kids, off course, can attend class.

Both sides win.

#17, that would be a good punishment! BTW, I always wondered what happened to Madeleine Murray O´Hair after she was killed...Did she just go poof into thin air? Or what? I always wondered if atheists would just disappear or if they had to pay a price not just for their willful denial of God, but for trying to erase God from our society. O´Hair has done much more damage to our society than the ACLU in their worst cases...and she got rich off of her bad deeds too!

Easy Solution:
Have the students that want to see it meet at the play on a Saturday or Sunday as a group.
Maybe even with their parents or guardians. Not a class trip anymore but the class is seeing the play. Let´s the air out of atheist

Athieism is the only true God and Darwin is his prophet.

If you don´t want to believe in God, fine, don´t believe in god. Show the world the strength of your convictions, don´t take time off from your job at Christmas, refuse that Christmas bonus, or any presents from your infidal family. Don´t participate in heathen Christian dinner festivities. Explain to your children why they will not receive any presents or stockings full of treats. Condemn and persecute the unbelievers. Be true to your faith and when you die the prophet Darwin will welcome you to your eternity of darkness and nothingness.

Me, personally, I have a different idea.

I remember having two kindergarten students who parents were atheists. Nobody cared. However, when we had our Christmas party the parents chose to keep their children at home which was fine. We did get a little annoyed when the parents wanted to stop by the school to pick up their child´s Christmas party goodies. Needless to say they were told that there were no goodies for their kids.

These people apparently don´t understand "the free exercise of religion," as stated in the first amendment of the Bill of Rights. The relation between the government and religion is often incorrectly characterized as Separation of church and state, as prohibiting a state church, or in other ways, but these characterizations have no basis in the first amendment. The actual language is: congress shall make no law regarding an establishment of religion. No law-literally-as Biden would say. No law! Taken literally, there would be nothing to say about such a school presentation. Of course free exercise is not coerced exercise. A student should be free to go or not to go.

The old ´have their cake and eat it too´ ploy #37. lol. I think that atheists suffer from an extremely stiff neck in regards to their personal belief system.

What is astonishing to me about atheists is that when you read in the latter part of the book of Revelation, after the 1000 years of Christ´s reign, there are STILL going to be people who won´t believe! So I take current atheists with a grain of salt and a bit of pity. But I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.

Atheists -- the only group of people with no invisible means of support.

I once had a minister tell me that hell was an individual state of mind...if you were a little old lady that liked to sit quietly knitting and listening to opera, hell might be filled with psychedelic lights and acid rock, yet if you were a hard core biker, hell might be filled with chamber music.

Maybe for an atheist, hell would be 24/7 mass, monks chanting or nuns praying.

It is ironic what the "atheists" choose to protest...they don´t want anyone else to enjoy or participate in what the Christians choose to believe, yet they never protest time off work, "seasonal" bonuses, or sales at the stores...can you imagine the scene at Wal-Mart if an atheist were insisting on paying full price because he didn´t believe in Christmas?

This day in 1959, four months after leading a successful revolution in Cuba, Fidel Castro began an 11-day visit to the United States. His visit came at a time when tensions between his regime and the American government were rising steadily. Castro neither requested nor accepted an official government invitation for his trip to Washington and New York. Rather, he came at the invitation of what was then called the American Society of Newspaper Editors. During his stay, Castro placed a wreath on George Washington’s grave, toured the Bronx Zoo, ate hot dogs and hamburgers at Yankee Stadium and

The assault bore the hallmarks of a resurgent al-Qaeda in Iraq and appeared aimed at sowing fear days before the first elections since U.S. troops withdrew. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but coordinated attacks are a favourite tactic of al-Qaeda´s Iraq branch. In addition, he has taken great pains to hide the paper trail of passport records, college transcripts, and other data -- all of which a prospective employer might require of a job applicant.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:

In light of the explosions that have rocked Boston on Patriots’ Day, during the city’s annual marathon, NBC reporter Luke Russert took to Twitter to speculate that today’s horrific events could possibly be related to the 1993 government siege on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas — an incident often attached to conversations about “right-wing terrorism” and anti-government violence. “I was at Fenway Park w my dad and @mikebarnicle during Waco which was on Patriots Day in 1993. Speculating on possible link,” Russert tweeted following the explosions.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza’s mother considered suing Sandy Hook Elementary School after teachers turned a blind eye to beatings from his classmates, a family member claims. The relative, speaking to the Daily News, claimed that mass murderer Lanza was taunted and attacked by fellow students at his childhood alma mater. “Nancy felt fiercely protective of him,” the relative said. “She was convinced the school wasn’t doing enough to protect Adam. It made her irate.” Nancy Lanza — gunned down by her 20-year-son to start his Dec. 14 rampage — even tagged along with Adam to school

The impending introduction of legislation to overhaul the country’s badly strained immigration system received an extraordinary endorsement on Sunday from Senator Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, who, after holding back for weeks, appeared on no fewer than seven television talk shows to explain and defend a plan that he said would be “a net positive for the country, now and in the future.” It was a striking show of confidence from Mr. Rubio, one of eight members of a bipartisan Senate group that has been crafting a plan to provide a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants;

Is media bias to blame for lack of Gosnell coverage? Or something far more banal? The trial of Philadelphia doctor Kermit Gosnell would seem to have all the elements of a spectacular news story: shocking allegations, horrifying visuals, sympathetic victims. Yet until late last week, much of the national media was silent as testimony about Gosnell’s alleged “house of horrors” abortion clinic rolled out. Much of the media attention outside Philadelphia, in fact, centered on how little media attention the story was receiving outside Philadelphia.

President Obama and I were college classmate at Columbia University, class of ’83. I know all too well how mindlessly liberal the students and faculty of that institution can be, and Barack Obama is certainly no exception. My time at Columbia made it crystal clear: liberals always believe they are morally superior. [Snip] It is in this cesspool of intolerance that Obama and his Marxist cronies hatched a secret plan to destroy our country. There are two things you need to know about Obama at Columbia University. First, he was Pre Law and a Political Science major- just like me.
