I´m on the ground here in Arkansas and was here during that election. A road-killed armadillo could have beat Miss Blanche that year if it had been a Republican. Arkies had gotten fed up with ´Rats, period, and her so-called compromises had nothing to do with her loss.

Lincoln would not have had a liberal contender in a run off had an unknown, barely cammpaign true conservative Democrat not received 40+k votes in the first primary. Enough to force a runoff with the further left than Lincoln socialist. And then Blanche was creammed (less than 40% of the vote) in the election. Its the Socialism that people didn´t want, not supporting socialism.

Let them have that top tier increase.

Obama and the unions are redistributing wealth all right - from the poorer public sector of the economy to the wealthy public and privileged union sector. If you are making your own way independent of government you are to be enslaved to support the wealthy public sector. What is the unemployment rate in the public sector vs the private sector? Obama is president for his supporters only. This is the source of his lie that the private sector is doing just fine! This new form of slavery is just as evil as the old form which was abolished. Sadly the GOP is to timid to make this point.

It`s ironic that so many posters the past few month cap on the train wreck that is California when the entire nation has become California right before their eyes. The union`s own Obama and the DNC just as the Teacher`s/Prison Guard/SEIU own the Dems in Calif. Those red states that are not bankrupt soon will be. It`s unavoidable at this point.
