A photo of a Massachusetts woman flashing her middle finger at Arlington National Cemetery has sparked widespread disgust across the web and prompted an online petition to get the woman fired from her job. Lindsey Stone posted the picture of herself making the obscene gesture at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, next to a sign at the military cemetery that asks for ´Silence and Respect,´ in October and the snapshot quickly went viral.

FTA "...it was just a spur of the moment total lapse of judgment. She´s very sorry that she offended anybody,´ according to her father. Yeah, it was just a "spur of the moment" thing when she posted it on Facebook, too? No, she knew what she was doing, and the disrespect was her intention. She showed us what she thought of those of us who fought for her freedom to do it. If she continues to work there at Life, then a large number of vets will cross that place off their list.

Let us not forget that those who died in service to country did it so this twit could exercise free speech. And, we are free to call her a classless idiot. I love free speech.

All of us do stupid things on occasion. But it takes a really classless idiot to compound the stupidity by posting it on Facebook. I didn´t see her age in the article, but I certainly hope her emotional maturity catches up before she does too much damage.

Disgusting slob. Yes, it has the right to do what it did Because of the dead she insulted. It also was a slap to every family member of those who died so it could be disrespectful. It would be ´wrong´ but , oh so satisfying to have someone slap it to the ground and walk away whistling. ( ´it´ refers to what appears to be a ´her´ )

A good time to remember that actions have consequences. The actions of those buried at Arlington gave the woman that ability to "act stupidly". Her action may lead to losing the job. Losing her job may improve her behavior in the future.

I say bullcrap. I´m sick of it. It´s time we adopt some of their weapons to win this war. Step on their necks at every turn and don´t let up.

What you see here is an attack on society, not an attack on what society has to say. Freedom of speech was intended to protect dissident speech, not anti-social, juvenile speech simply intended to break down the social bonds of civilization. There is a difference, and it´s time for the law to catch up.

This is an area where people really misunderstand the Constitution. The Constitution deals with the relationship between the Government and the People. It does not regulate the relationship between people. The Government can not stop your free speech and people can not use "state action" to stop your free speech; but people are absolutely free to argue that free speech is commercially bad for business or bad for charities.

I agree with #12. For every 1st Amendment action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. For too long, its like we have been playing a game of tiddlywinks with the Progressives. The problem is, they aren´t playing tiddlywinks, they are in a boxing match with us and they use different rules in their game. Whenever one on our side doesn´t follow our rules and plays by their boxing match rules, they scream and we scream foul. Its time we quit playing tiddlywinks with them and get into the boxing ring, take the gloves off and wait for the bell.

Frankly, I don´t see it as that big a deal... a playful mug for the camera and an ill advised (i.e. stupid) post. People tend forget that Facebook is not as private as a photo album on the coffee table. I saw it as mocking the sign´s admonition, not mocking the reverence of the cemetery. It is ridiculous that such a sign is necessary.

In short, I saw it as a brief encounter with a poor attempt at humor, not intended as a message of disrespect toward those fallen. She said she was sorry. I believe she is sincere in that apology.

OK #36, consider this.

I, as a white male, do the exact same thing, EXACTLY, that this woman did.....

at a memorial area for Martin Luther King Jr.

I would be immediately fired no matter where I worked, and if the company paused even briefly, busloads of people would descent and picket the business.

Every talk show would be running the story non-stop, it would obscure even the Obama news.

Guaranteed.

But for fallen soldiers...of all colors...its no big deal.

I am curious, what exactly IS a big deal to you?

CENTERVILLE — Move over, Dr. Seuss. Like the Whos of the classic Christmas story, the Thompsons on Shootflying Hill Road have been Grinched. For the past eight years the friendly family has erected an elaborate holiday display on its front lawn, wowing neighbors with inflatable characters, a Christmas train and a light show synced to music. When Richard Thompson flipped the switch to power up the extravaganza Sunday morning, however, nothing happened. Somebody had slashed the blow-up Santa, reindeer and sock monkey as well as three blow-up dogs representing the family´s three yellow Labrador retrievers. The wires connecting the lights

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Ann Furedi, of BPAS, said the law does not prevent women from choosing a termination on the grounds of gender and she even compared it to abortion after rape. Mrs Furedi´s comments come weeks after it was disclosed that the CPS had decided not to prosecute two doctors who were exposed by a Daily Telegraph investigation arranging terminations purely because the unborn baby was a girl. A group of 50 MPs, drawn from across the party divide, then wrote to this newspaper warning that the decision was a “step back in the fight for gender equality” and effectively changes the law without

Usually the type of Republicans MSNBC hosts invite on their shows are either craven RINO types who can be depended upon to trash talk fellow Republicans, or the more inarticulate, dimmer bulbs in the party who fail to communicate conservative positions effectively. MSNBC host Chris Hayes had an entirely different type of animal on his hands with PA Americans For Prosperity Director, Jennifer Stefano. She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.

Unbelievable." The amphitheatre, located in central Rome, was constructed between 70 and 80 A.D., and was estimated to hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators. The Colosseum was home to gladiator battles and animal hunts during the Roman Empire. Obama walked along a platform running through the center of the
