With Hillary Clinton’s dash to
Middle East, Obama signals a
shift in his approach

Washington Post, by Anne Gearan

President Obama’s decision to send his top diplomat on an emergency Mideast peacemaking mission Tuesday marked a shift to a more activist role in the region’s affairs and clues to how he may use the political elbow room afforded by a second term. The move could pay dividends quickly if Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton helps arrange an end to the conflict between Israel and Hamas. She was scheduled to head to Cairo on Wednesday for talks with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi following consultations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Gee, I thought this was a way to keep her from testifying about Obama´s gross negligence in the death of Americans

Not to mention what evidence do we have that Hillary is capable of succeeding - what has she done that we can point to and say - oh yes, send her????

I´ve asked this question over and over - what has Hillary accomplished - seriously? Can anyone point to one thing she has done to justify the money this country is spending for her to fly all over the world with her entourage?

The only reason she´s sent over there to broker a cease-fire is because Hamas was getting it´s rear-end kicked. If Israel was on the losing end, I bet she wouldn´t have been in a big hurry to get over there.

HRC is returning to DC from Australia & Cambodia with a brief stopover in Israel & Egypt. Only the WaPo could write that this brief stopover could "end the conflict between Israel & Hamas". Why would Hamas want to end its war against the Jewish state? If Hamas wanted to end hostilities in exchange for a better life for the Palestinian people, it would have not have accepted Iranian missiles and arms. Hamas, Hezbollah and their ilk want absolute power, and are prepared to kill and be killed not matter what our roving Secretary of State has to say.

This is a religious war of hateful demons against modern civilization. Until the demons are taken out no witch who gained power by being married to an ex-impeached POTUS will make a sliver of a difference.

Too many people forget how completely disgusting Hillary is. What an arrogant person who thinks she´s entitled to be on the world stage. Humility is unknown to her and her ilk.

Democrats and idiots are still convinced that the stagnant economy is Bush´s fault. We also made a mistake in not defending Bush who was a great President. And Romney was an excellent candidate.

With his Cairo speech, and his meddling in the internal affairs of Egypt and Libya, Elephant Ears has set the stage for the entire Middle East to explode. Maybe he has belatedly realized how bad this will make him look in the future. At some point all politicians start to worry about their "legacy".

The House Oversight Committee has voted to hold former IRS subpotentate Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress, while the House Ways and Means Committee has referred her case to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution. The facts in the case suggest very strongly that Ms. Lerner has earned the contempt of the American people as well as criminal prosecution to the full extent of the law. The question of whether Justice will do justice now rests with the Obama administration, in service to which Ms. Lerner organized and oversaw the repression of nonprofit activists under color of IRS authority. Another day, another chronicle of Democratic Party malfeasance. Enjoy: In Congress, Rep. Darrell Issa of California has just leveled an explosive charge against his Democrat counterpart on the House Oversight and Government Reform committee — to wit, that the gentleman from Maryland colluded with the IRS to harass a conservative organization fighting for honest elections: Issa said records obtained last week from the IRS show communications from the office of ranking member Rep. With the rocky rollout of his health care law in a post-deadline lull, President Obama will move this week to shake up his health care team, accepting the resignation of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and tapping his budget director as a troubleshooting replacement, the White House confirmed Thursday. Mrs. Sebelius, a former Kansas governor who has served as HHS secretary for Mr. Obama’s entire tenure, was the president’s point person as his signature law stumbled out of the blocks in October. A few weeks ago, with no notice, the U.S. government intercepted Mary Grice’s tax refunds from both the IRS and the state of Maryland. Grice had no idea that Uncle Sam had seized her money until some days later, when she got a letter saying that her refund had gone to satisfy an old debt to the government — a very old debt. When Grice was 4, back in 1960, her father died, leaving her mother with five children to raise. Until the kids turned 18, Sadie Grice got survivor benefits from Social Security to help feed and clothe them.

Attorney General Eric Holder must be suffering from a sort of amnesia. When Chief Justice John Roberts rewrote ObamaCare from the bench in order to save it, most of the ramifications were immediately apparent. Having caved to a public intimidation campaign from the president and his congressional allies (as well as the media) Roberts signaled that the way to get a conservative justice to discard his better judgment and rule against constitutional law was to impugn the court’s reputation in the public square. Sen. Mark Begich has said repeatedly that he thinks President Obama is wrong about a host of policies, whether on oil drilling, the military or the environment. Begich also has made it perfectly clear that he has no interest in having his fellow Democrat out to his home state of Alaska, saying earlier this year that he doesn’t “care to have him campaign for me.” But that doesn’t mean he’s not looking for the president’s help. Begich has in fact submitted a long wish list to the Obama administration for agency decisions that he thinks would boost his reelection chances.

On its present course, the Supreme Court will ultimately overrule its 1976 decision in Buckley v. Valeo, the landmark case upholding campaign finance “reform” legislation. It can’t come too soon, because Buckley expressly ignored the First Amendment’s injunction that “Congress shall make no law .?.?. abridging the freedom of speech.” Instead of free speech, we now have regulated speech that has ensnarled elections in a web of bizarre and opaque rules. Last week, in McCutcheon et al. v. Federal Election Commission, the court began edging away from Buckley by striking down one of its limits on free speech. The details
