Kennedy spent a summer on the alluring resort coastline known as the French Riviera — with its stunning beaches and glittery parties and fierce convertible drives. That summer Kennedy, a dashing college student, was captivated by a cologne created by perfume connoisseur Albert Fouquet — a fragrance so coveted that, in the later war years, it was smuggled into the United States to a president-to-be in a book with cut-out pages to keep Nazis from seizing it. Having owned expensive designer fragrances once or twice (they were gifts), they are great. But, shopping carefully, most people can find just as nice for you fragrances much cheaper. I would buy something for $5.00 at Sears, if it was nice on me for several hours.

If I see that Camelot nonsense one more time I might barf over a balcony watching a Broadway play like some guy did last week.
Cool perfume or not, JFK was a drug-addled womanizer, his wife a downtrodden and closet chain-smoker who was worried about her image, and his father was a heartless puppetmaster who did everything he could to foist his spoiled, unprincipled offspring upon this country. No more Camelot!

During this year´s Conservative Political Action Conference, the American Conservative Union paraded its star lineup of African Americans who share their political philosophy. They were featured as a “stunning array of speakers from the African American community.” But in reality, they are not known by black America, with the exception of Dr. Benjamin Carson and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The problem that conservatives face when featuring these people is that even though they are black, they are not in tune with African Americans. They do not share the struggles, frustrations and everyday problems of the community they claim to represent.

When Democrats in the Texas House met in late January to elect Rep. Yvonne Davis of Dallas as their leader by the slimmest of margins, she promised to listen to their voices and not to unelected outsiders, specifically, Houston Democratic benefactor Steve Mostyn. Almost immediately, the phone of the successful plaintiff´s lawyer lit up with text messages from lawmakers lamenting the remarks of the woman they had just elected as their leader. After all, Mostyn and his wife, Amber, have infused $25 million into Democratic efforts in the past two election cycles. Surely, some respect was owed.

Another Maverick County commissioner was indicted on allegations of corruption Thursday, making it three of the five commissioners facing federal charges. With the arrest of Precinct 4 Commissioner César Flores, 46, only Precinct 3 Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales and County Judge David Saucedo are not under indictment. Flores was released on $40,000 bail, and Precinct 1 Commissioner Eliaz Maldonado, who´s also facing corruption charges, is out on bail as well, so the court can make a quorum.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
