After almost ¾ of a year the president finally holds a press conference but the press fails to show up. I mean they physically showed up but not journalistically. In the world of politics and press when the press fawns over someone they find a way to either not ask a probing question or they simply ask a non-consequential one. That is what happened on Wednesday when the president was served up a bunch of softball questions that made for one of the dullest press conferences in recent memory. When queried about Benghazi and...
Comments: I know I, and everyone here, was just shocked...SHOCKED!...that the so-called media only tossed softball questions to the Messiah. No mention of the fine crease in his pants though, kinda disappointing. They would have treated GWB the same way, right?
As the saga of the Affordable Care Act continues, another mammoth program being pushed by the Department of Education for approval by all state legislatures is a national curriculum, which is called Common Core State Standards.(Snip)CCSS expedites the process of making government schools a vehicle for propagandizing students. The centralized government would be able to "teach" moral relativism, fairness, political correctness, multiculturalism, tolerance for the progressive agenda and bigotry for the traditional moral values. These Marxist/progressive concepts are changing the culture to welfare dependency.
Barack Obama is either the most inept president ever to sit in the White House or he is an enemy of the Republic. For the last 10 years, I have watched this man´s uncanny rise to the pinnacle of power and vacillated between those two choices. I have come to the conclusion that ideology trumps inexperience. His ego is so massive, and his leftist beliefs so strong, that he is willing to throw our country under the big international bus. Let´s review our Middle East policy since Obama took office. He made it his top priority to go to the
PASCO COUNTY -- Detectives in Pasco County have made an arrest in the home invasion shooting that happened on Friday. They say 18-year-old Ryan Mills was taken into custody after finishing treatment at Bayonet Hospital for gunshot wounds he suffered during that armed robbery. Detectives say Mills and another man busted into a Land O´ Lakes home brandishing a fake gun. Turns out, someone in that home had a real gun and opened fire on the two men, shooting them both. The sheriff´s office is still investigating the incident and tells us the other suspect will be arrested once he is released from the hospital.
Four and a half years in office the president is still in campaign mode delivering speeches to handpicked audiences including high school kids who haven´t a clue as to what the heck he is talking about.(Snip) Instead of a president trying to build confidence, we have not a great communicator but a great divider who is preaching class warfare and hatred that is like throwing a match into the proverbial gas tank. Instead of providing calm and reason and confidence Obama in his speech predicts violence...
We live in an age of surveillance. Right now, more information about us is available to more entities faster and easier than ever before. The FBI has been floating a plan to require all client-side communications software — be it voice, video, or text — to include mandatory backdoors that can be activated by law enforcement bodies to silently eavesdrop on any traffic coming in or out of that program. This will allow authorities to circumvent message-level encryption, which has stymied their current efforts.
MADISON, Wis.--Another year, another campaign. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is gearing up for re-election next year, his third race in four years. But the Republican’s courting of out-of-state donors and conservatives, his plans to visit Iowa this week and his refusal to say whether he would serve out another full term if elected suggest he might be seeking a much bigger prize — the presidency. Not that he will openly acknowledge as much.
This is a tale that would bring a smile to the face of Josef Mengele, Adolf Hitler and Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger: the true story of a black abortionist making a fortune killing black babies — and occasionally a black mother — in the filthiest conditions imaginable.(Snip)Perhaps most disturbing in the report is this: “The search team discovered fetal remains haphazardly stored throughout the clinic — in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons, and even cat food containers.” Toilets were back up, clogged with body parts from murdered babies: Black babies, Asian babies, babies whose
TAMPA He claimed he was a war hero injured in Iraq and bilked the Veterans Administration for thousands of dollars in medical care. He even persuaded the organization Vacations for Veterans to give him a free trip to Hawaii.(Snip)Crane portrayed himself as "the most decorated veteran in Florida," U.S. Assistant Attorney Amanda Kaiser said. Crane had falsely said he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Purple Hearts, an Air Medal and other war-related awards. He told local veterans´ groups that "he was blind in one eye, had 24 metal plates in his face, took a bullet in his back
Pepsi´s video of NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon pulling a prank on an unsuspecting car salesman is going viral, racking up more than 1.4 million views since being uploaded Tuesday. Gordon, a champion NASCAR driver, disguised himself for the video and pretended he´d never driven a powerful car before, then gives the car salesman the test drive of a lifetime in a Camaro.
This past week has been a news filled bonanza of important events. Let me start with the demise of the Dictator of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, who succumbed to cancer after his extensive treatment in Cuba.(Snip) It is possible that he may yet get the Nobel Peace award posthumously for his nationalizing businesses and bringing 24 percent, or there about, inflation to his country. It is amazing that a country blessed with humongous oil reserves should still have naked poverty and huge unemployment after 14 years of enlightened rulership. One thing he reportedly did do well was to amass a private
"Ok, the Republicans surprised us and hung tough on cutting some of the increase we´d hoped for in next year´s budget: what are we gonna do bout dat? Well Sir, we at INS have already taken action to show the public how painful those cuts will be. We´ve already released more than 2,000 illegal immigrants we´d held in our detention centers.(Snip)...cut the ammunition provided to front line troops. When those desert outposts run out of ammo, and are overrun by fanatical Arabs, the ignorant public will get the damn message. Look how excited they became over just that Benghazi thing.
Finally after several years of the intrigue associated with the biggest leak of government classified documents to the WikiLeaks website, the perpetrator, Pvt. Bradley Manning, has admitted guilt to lesser counts of the charges against him. (Snip)We have another high profile case involving a military man, Maj. Nadal Hasan, who shot and killed 13 people and wounded 30 others at Fort Hood, Texas. This happened on Nov. 5, 2009, a full 40 months ago. Our government, by the way, does not call it an act of terrorism, but rather defines it as workplace violence, even after there is proof
Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) said on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation” Wednesday that when Jesus fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish, “he didn’t charge food stamps.” “When Jesus had those five loaves and two fishes, he didn´t charge food stamps. He didn´t ask anybody how much money they had. He fed them because they were hungry, and that´s really where we ought to be,” McDermott said in response to Republican critics of the SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). In September, the House approved a plan by Republicans to cut $39 billion in food stamps over the next
The nation’s view of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, colored by the horrific Benghazi assassination of the U.S. ambassador to Libya on her watch, has suddenly turned upside down, with more now holding an unfavorable opinion of the likely 2016 presidential candidate. A new YouGov/Economist poll found Clinton, whose approval ratings have typically been sky high, with an unfavorable rating of 48 percent, more than the 46 percent who have a favorable opinion of her. The YouGov pollsters said that the change in American attitudes toward Clinton "suggests that negative press surrounding the tragic
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Bill Clinton, the cliché goes, was the first black president, no matter his skin color. That being the case, Barack Obama is not the first black president, or the first African-American president, if you prefer, but the first hippie president. Clinton’s southern background and lifestyle were indeed more typically black, just as Obama’s was more typically hippie. And we’re not just talking about the “Choom gang” here, scarfing “Maui Wowie” on the sands of Oahu. We’re talking about all of it, the whole multi-culti-missing-white-mother-vanished-Kenyan-father-anti-imperialist-America-is-always-the-enemy-and-don’t-you-forget-it-nine-yards. And like most hippie culture as I knew and experienced it, it wasn’t about “peace and love.” Not
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
CNN host wondered out loud on his show this evening whether the physically unfit Chris Christie could follow the "perfect physical specimen" Barack Obama into the White House: "After the perfect Barack Obama, who´s a perfect physical specimen to many people´s eyes, does it matter?" Morgan asked his guest. "Or is actually somebody very different, someone who´s much more of a regular kind of guy who likes cheeseburgers and beer, but appears to be a straight talker, somebody perhaps more of a straight talker than it appears Barack Obama turned out to be?"
Nobody could accuse the press of ignoring the fiasco-on-a-server that is HealthCare.gov. The Obamacare website’s woes are dominating coverage on the network news, the cable talk shows, the blogs and, of course, high-octane websites like POLITICO. But did the press do a good job of covering the Affordable Care Act before the health care exchanges went online—sort of—on Oct. 1? Were we adequately warned of the troubles that were to come? And now that HealthCare.gov’s problems are headline news, is the coverage of it any better? Sure, one can find a few examples of one news outlet or another warning of impending
MSNBC´s Chris Matthews will interview President Barack Obama this Thursday, the network announced Tuesday. The interview is part of Matthews´ "Hardball College Tour," and will take place at American University in Washington, D.C. According to a news release from MSNBC, Matthews, along with university students, will "discuss a variety of topics with the president including voter suppression, healthcare, the decline of confidence in the government and the overall political dysfunction in Washington." On Monday our colleagues Carrie Budoff Brown and Jonathan Allen reported that the White House is launching a coordinated campaign to return attention to why the Affordable Care Act
MSNBC has announced that Chris Matthews, Barack Obama´s most excitable fan, will be interviewing the President on Thursday´s Hardball. Fawning over the liberal politician is incredibly common among journalists, but Matthews has taken it to a whole new level. According to the network host, Obama is a "perfect," "cool," brilliant figure who is comparable to Jesus, Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. The verbose Matthews has no filter when it comes to the Democrat, even once bizarrely blurting out that an Obama speech made him "forget" that the commander in chief "was black." To prepare you for the likely love-fest
