Interesting. Liberals typically hate HMOs. But now they love Obamacare. Somehow they can´t quite grasp that Obamacare is going to be a giant HMO. Only worse.

If you google "kaiser permanente layoffs" you´ll find it´s not just in Southern California.

It is too bad that more businesses didn´t stress to their employees that if Obamacare stood, they would be losing their jobs.

#1 ! Thank you. I have said repeatedly that Republicans should have framed Obamacare as one giant HMO. The media successfully made that term worse than dirt. But nooooo, all those highly-paid consultants couldn´t figure out that simple strategy.

I believe that K>P> was a strong supporter of Obamacare. Many insurance companies mandated to accept patients with pre-existing conditions will be closing shop - all the statisticians in the World cannot predict the unpredictable- their data base is now useless-
under Obamacare- and they will be guesstimating their expenses-

They´re going to allow some private insurance to stay in business so government workers continue to get A+ coverage,while everyone else will grovel to the excanges begging for mercy.

A union official told the Inland Daily Bulletin that the laid-off employees will be able to take advantage of a retraining and education program that will keep them paid and insured for up to one year.

Those I know who have Kaiser Permanente through their employers are happy with it. Some have been with them for decades. A female neighbor had a major heart surgery 6 years ago and is still going strong.

They were probably folks who had Romney/ Ryan stickers on their cars.

I don´t get how people can claim Kaiser is "so great".

I had them for one year. What a nightmare.

First, to make an appointment, you have to talk with a "nurse". She´ll do anything she can to talk you out of coming in. "You have an allergy". Really, my throat has been killing me for a week. "You have a cold, take some over the counter medication". Should a cold last for a month? "Yes, it can!".

When you do get in to see them, the doctor spends as little time as he can with you, and rushes through your examination. The waiting room is jammed full, worse than an emergency room.

I was misdiagnosed and in fact had a bacterial infection that almost landed me in the hospital. Thanks Kaiser, never again. You can all go under.

I always thought Kaiser delivered good care for an HMO. Like most of them, though, they operate on a shoestring. The region hit by layoffs also typically has ERs full of illegal immigrants who won´t pay for their bills.

Thanks to Barrack Obama and all the Obama voters. The Democrat Party must be so proud of what they are doing to the nation. If this continues it won´t be long before they are running for cover.

The company I work at has been reorganizing since obama was first elected. Thousands have lost their jobs and I suspect more to come.

We have already seen 10´s of thousands of layoff notices from other companies since obama was elected the 2nd time. It will not slow down but will accelerate.

The first jobs report will blame hurricane Sandy and I suspect the 2nd one after that will blame the republicans.

I have been with Kaisers for a couple of years - IBM pays for part of the cost. I have gone to different doctors and if I don´t like them, I change and tell them why. I loved the surgeon that did my brain surgery but he had the personality of a floor. I didn´t care and didn´t have to see him again - ditto with primary doctor who was a woman and I could not stand her. You
can change ´areas´ if you want to. I will be curious as to any changes to be made. Have not heard of any so far.

I´ve also had good experience with Kaiser. 2 surgeries and broken bone and a chronic condition.

I think the area is what makes a difference. Mine just happens to be good.

I´ve been wondering what was going to happen with Kaiser´s ´advantage´ plan for seniors on Medicare since I understand they will be eliminated under ocare.
