Blame It on the American People
American Spectator, by Andrew B. Wilson

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/17/2012 5:32:45 AM

Bill O´Reilly of Fox News and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal have added their voices to the swelling chorus of second-guessers saying the Mitt Romney ran the race badly and therefore "deserved to lose" to Barack Obama on Nov. 6. But here´s a simpler and, I think, better explanation. There is no magic that dictates that the American people in their infinite wisdom will always make the right choice, and in this instance they ´doubled down´ (to use one of the president´s favorite expressions) in returning a very bad president

Romney ran a civilized, intelligent campaign in a world of savages. Of course he lost and now he will be canabalized by his own tribe.

O´Reilly softpedaled his comments on Zippy before the election, calling him merely a politician instead of a racist, Marxist traitor bent on destroying America. He should been awake and using his platform sooner.

I really think fraud stole Florida. Not sure about the other states but Florida is for sure imho.
Still, Romney was just like the conservatives on Lucianne thought he was: nice, thoughtful and bland. Sadly, in todays world the voters expect POW BANG BOOM. He had the money for all of that but was too timid. His ´handlers´ were also bland and often short sighted. I agree the two dud senatorial candidates who don´t know rape from raisin did not help him. And, Christie showed many of us he is amusing but just a me me me blowhard. Our so called conservative writers did what they could but it is hard to fight a corrupt media. And then there was Benghezi...where was McCain, Graham and the Randy General when the country needed them before the election. All I can do is continue to pray and hope for the best. I will pray also for Israel. They need our prayers with no friends anywhere.

What #1 said. IMO, it IS the fault of the American people because enough of THEM voted to put the community-agitator-in-chief back in office for another four years. And let´s not forget the Election FRAUD that was rampant through the Country. If the voting "process" isn´t straightened out, we will never see another Republican President elected. That will make some people happy, but the end result will be catastrophic for America.

I disagree completely with Bill on this one but of course, my job does not depend on it. I think Romney tried as hard as he could to run and honest and hard campaign. The Democrats cheated on every level from voter fraud to lying about Romney´s record and the Press was complicit by allowing it to happen by supporting Obama. Romney did not have a chance.

ROMNEY WON!!! The electronic machines stole the election for Obama...The RNC knew Romney votes were stolen BEFORE the election and did nothing ...same thing for the military vote...and the absentee vote. Obama did not win because he got 99% to 146% of the usual moron vote, he won because the usual GOP and independent votes for Romney were deleted, shredded or changed (the sorosbots used the 2010 Republican win to factor in the % of cheat needed for Obama). The RNC and RINO´s are fine with the cheat if it ends the Conservative control of the GOP...as evidenced by STUPID statements from clowns like O´Reilly & Jindal who also are say if we raise taxes it will convince blacks, illegals, minorities, gays and the abortion-gals to vote Republican...FOOLS!!!!

If you think Romney was THAT great candidate, then you should enthusiastically support him again in 2016.

He bought the nomination, someone else bought the election.

Embarassingly inane article. So the stupid voters are to blame because they didn´t see the decency and goodness of Willard the Inevitable and his good breeding, fine manners and proper schooling? Really? The paranoids won´t accept it but a majority of voters saw things differently. They saw a candidate who stood for and would say anything, everything and nothing, all in the same sentence who was a trendy squish leading a center-right party. So they decided better the incompetent fraud we know than this fraud we don´t. That the GOP would select a feckless and timid out of touch lefty says volumes about the rot at the core of the GOP.

The remains of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev have been buried in a Muslim cemetery in Doswell, a small community in central Virginia about 15 miles from the state capital of Richmond. Tsarnaev’s remains are interred at the Al-Barzakh Cemetery, the first Muslim cemetery in central Virginia, according to the woman who helped arrange the burial and to the Islamic Funeral Services of Virginia. The burial was coordinated Martha Mullen, 48, a Virginia woman who saw news reports about the protest outside the Worcester funeral home where Tsarnaev’s remains had languished for nearly a week, and decided to help.

DHAKA, Bangladesh - A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000. Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks.

WASHINGTON — Five days before two bombs tore through crowds at the Boston Marathon, an intelligence report identified the finish line as an "area of increased vulnerability" and warned Boston police that homegrown extremists could use "small-scale bombings" to attack spectators and runners at the event. The 18-page report, similar to others sent to police and first responders before major events in the Boston area, was written by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center, which is funded in part by the Department of Homeland Security and helps disseminate intelligence information to local police and first responders.

‘Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?” That was how then–Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously brushed off the question of when she knew that the attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were, in fact, a terrorist assault and not a “protest” of an anti-Islam video that got out of hand. Republicans on Thursday boycotted a congressional hearing for President Obama´s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, putting the nomination in doubt and enraging White House officials who dismissed the act as the most blatant case yet of GOP obstructionism. The boycott was a major blow to Gina McCarthy´s chances of winning a filibuster-proof confirmation vote in the Senate, given that, without the Republicans, progressives can´t even get McCarthy through committee. Republicans said they refused to move ahead on McCarthy until the EPA adequately responds to their questions about her,

CLEVELAND — The twin brother of kidnap victim Michelle Knight yesterday recalled his shock at seeing her alive for the first time in more than a decade. “When I saw her, she was white as a ghost,” Freddie Knight, 32, told The Post. “But she told me, ‘Come over here and give me a hug. It’s been ages!’ ” “She was happy to see me. It was emotional. She even recognized me — even though it had been 11 years.” Freddie, who is estranged from their mom, Barbara, was the first family member to see Michelle after her escape.

She weathered Whitewater. She made it past Monica ?Lewinsky. Now Hillary Clinton is hoping to beat the rap on Benghazi and make it to the White House. The Clinton political machine is in full campaign mode already, preparing for 2016 and hoping voters forget by then that she had a key role in the Obama administration’s handling of the terror attack. But that’s becoming more difficult as the GOP appears to be laying the groundwork for tying Clinton to Benghazi and making sure it stays front and center in the next campaign. Some of the testimony from State Department whistleblowers

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws. You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail today if he hadn’t produced a video crudely lampooning the prophet Muhammad. In the weeks after the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, the Obama administration claimed the terrorist assault had been the outgrowth of a demonstration against the Nakoula video.

The secretary of state was back in Washington on Thursday, begging the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to take it easy on the poor Iranians. Enough with the sanctions, he said. Secretary Kerry has joined decades of his predecessors, buying into the latest version of the 30-year old illusion that we can make a deal with the Tehran regime if only we deal properly and humbly with them. He said there was a “window of opportunity” for a couple of months. It doesn’t much matter if he really believes this legend,

One question left mainly unaddressed by yesterday’s hearing on Benghazi — and by others, as well — is the lack of preparation by the Obama administration and the US military for the potential for attack in Benghazi. After all, terrorist attacks had been increasing steadily since the fall of the Qaddafi regime in 2011. Other Western nations had already withdrawn from Benghazi due to the security risks in the region, specifically from the radical Islamist terror networks able to operate freely in eastern Libya because of the removal of Qaddafi. It is Ford’s first visit back to Syria since he left in February, 2012, when the U.S. embassy suspended operations in Damascus as the opposition effort to oust Syrian President Bashar al Assad developed into a full-blown civil war. Since then, Ford has become the Obama administration’s point man on Syria and point of contact with the Syrian opposition. A U.S. official confirmed Ford’s secret visit, which occurred along the Turkey-Syria border. He briefly crossed into Syria

Maybe now the press will feel it´s okay to get off their duffs and report how a thoroughly incompetent administration, motivated solely by self-interest, left our ambassador and others to be murdered and then lied about it with consequences to us all.

However, if that student is black, the odds of suspension jump to 24%.

Pretending to be modern Paul Reveres, Democrats and their media handmaidens are doing their damnedest to diminish the Benghazi revelations with the cheapest trick in town. While there is always pungent hypocrisy when one gang of politicians accuses another gang of playing politics, the current phony outrage from the Obama Protection Society is exceptionally putrid. After all, the whole saga of Benghazi — before, during and after the terror attack — reflects nothing so much as the ultimate expression of Barack Obama’s politics.

An inspector general’s report due for release this week says senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew that agents were targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny as early as 2011, nine months before the IRS commissioner assured Congress the targeting was not happening. The report is certain to raise questions about the timing of the IRS’s disclosure of the targeting on Friday, how high up were the officials who knew about the practice, and whether anyone outside the agency was aware of it. Congressional Republicans are using their Benghazi investigation as political "subterfuge" to distract from other issues, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Saturday. Pelosi said it´s important to find out what happened in the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. But the right is taking it too far, she said in an interview with MSNBC´s Melissa Harris-Perry. "The obsession that some of my Republican colleagues have in the House doesn´t look like it´s on the path to really finding a solution, but just to keeping an issue alive," she said.

This love is terrifying. Thousands of American teen girls are crushing on Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19 — and leading a social-media movement to exonerate him. The swooning teens will not accept allegations that the college kid — whom they refer to by his nickname, “Jahar” — and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, killed three and maimed hundreds by setting off bombs at the April 15 race. While some scrawl the hashtag “#FreeJahar” on their hands with markers, an 18-year-old in Topeka, Kan., is going to the extreme — she wants Dzhokhar’s words inked on her arm forever.

Let’s face it. The Great Gatsby never has been—and probably won’t ever be—successfully turned into a great motion picture. Many have tried (four flop movies, not to mention various small-screen attempts, including a truncated but memorable Playhouse 90 with Robert Ryan and Jeanne Crain in the golden days when TV still knew what quality programming was). Robert Redford was a perfect Gatsby in the pretty but boring 1974 version by Jack Clayton, but the movie was dead on arrival. The best I’ve seen is still Elliott Nugent’s black-and-white 1949 version, with Alan Ladd at the top of his form
