Petraeus sneaks out of Capitol
The Hill [Washington DC], by Alexander Bolton

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 11/16/2012 1:42:41 PM

Former CIA director David Petraeus quietly left the Capitol through the delivery entrance, avoiding reporters seeking details on his affair with author Paula Broadwell. He slipped out after testifying in a closed-door briefing with lawmakers on the attacks in Benghazi, Libya. It was a stark contrast from how the former four-star general had left from meetings with Congress in recent years, when he was accompanied by full military retinues and often paused for photo ops. A throng of reporters gathered in the basement of the Senate side of the Capitol on Friday morning in hopes of catching Petraeus

Everyone is so concerned about this video cover up crap, but did anyone think to ask Petraeus about what the CIA was doing in Benghazi or why security was so lax?
But if they asked about the video, did they ask if he was pressured into giving testimony about the video? I would also like to know when he found out he was under investigation by the FBI? Was it before or after he gave the testimony on the 14th? Did anyone at the WH tell him or lead him to believe he could be keeping his job if he testified favorably for the WH?
From what has been leaked today, we don´t know if any of this was asked!

A new petition on the White House website asks the administration to declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. The request was posted on petitions.whitehouse.gov on July 7 and quickly garnered more than the 100,000 signature requirement for the Obama administration to officially consider the request. "Declare Muslim Brotherhood organization as a terrorist group," was written within days of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, who drew much of his support from the group, being removed from power by the military in early July. The Blaze has reported, and Fox News has also picked up, that an editor at the Chattanooga Times Free Press was fired for marking the occasion of President Obama´s recent Chattanooga visit with an editorial titled "Take your jobs plan and shove it, Mr. President." The newspaper contends that the headline was changed without approval and that it violated decorum standards for the paper, while the fired editor contends that he "just became the first person in the history of newspapers to be fired for writing a paper´s most-read article." The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.

Congress´s top inquisitor subpoenaed the State Department on Thursday for documents detailing the inner workings of the independent board that probed the September attack in Benghazi, Libya. Republicans on the House Oversight panel have accused the Accountability Review Board (ARB) of seeking to protect former Secretary of State and possible 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in its investigation, notably by declining to interview her. Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said he subpoenaed the department because he was being stonewalled. “After ignoring requests for months, the State Department has left no alternative but to issue subpoenas for documents relevant to our investigation,”

A Syrian religious group have banned croissants because they symbolise western oppression. A Sharia committee issued a fatwa, or religious ruling, declaring croissants ‘haram’, which means they are forbidden in Islamic law. The group, which operates in a rebel-held area of Aleppo, said that they have ‘colonial’ significance. They claim that the pastry’s crescent shape celebrates European victory over Muslims, reported Al Arabiya. Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller.

Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.

If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
