I saw some of these strickers last weekend, NO ONE was honking to support them as they were waving signs out by the road. I hope they are happy they have forced nearly 18000 out of work! Be proud, bakers union members!

Trumka is trying to do the same thing in the public sphere, saying ´there is no fiscal cliff´ and claiming the whole budget deficit is a ´manufactured crisis.´ The Hostess experience is the Trumka attitude in microcosm. Trumka probably directed these fools,

Apparently, a good number of the union strikers, crossed the picket line in order to keep their jobs (against threats by the union). But Hostess management said that it was too little too late.

A couple years ago, unions did the same thing to Stella d´Oro bakeries, forcing it to shut down. They must be so proud of themselves.

Easy to blame the Union but the company was failing due to the fact that it makes products that are no longer used by health conscious consumers. The plants are in areas where the workers will have no problem finding other work.

Yeah, I hear there are lots of jobs waiting to be filled in this economy for people with experience making faux pastries.

Now, here is some real irony when thinking about "all things dRATS." Doing the math [balancing budgets is what GOP does best] will show that less than a THIRD of the employees are responsible for putting the MAJORITY out of work.

Now, doesn´t this sound exactly like how "minorities" and special interest groups [dRATS] shape much of Washington policy to the detriment of all?

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Just wait and see what the coming months have in store. Elections do, indeed, have consequences. I´m concerned that we are going down a road from which there is no return.

Hostess was the #2 bakery in the United States. #1 is Bimbo Bakeries, which is a subsidiary of Mexican Grupo Bimbo ("beem-bo", a fantasy name that means nothing - not our slang "bimbo"), which is the #1 commercial bakery in the world.

You´d be amazed to see what well-known brands are now the property of Grupo Bimbo: Oroweat breads, Ball Park franks, Sara Lee, Boboli, Nutella, the list goes on and on.

Obie may not want American businesses to go overseas, but I stopped buying Kelloggs Raisin Bran when it changed taste and texture and turned out to have been manufactured in a plant in Mexico. And isn´t Kellogg a big Obama supporter?
