America in the Age of Obama
PJ Media, by Richard Fernandez

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/16/2012 5:03:32 AM

Breitbart quotes a tweet by CNN correspondent Frances Townsend claiming information by Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr that David Petraeus will testify that he knew the attack on the Benghazi consulate was terrorism “almost immediately.” The “same source” claims he will say Susan Rice’s talking points ascribing the attack to a video came from the White House. If Petraeus really does testify to this effect, he will inescapably be alleging under oath that the president was a liar. Even if the testimony is restricted strictly to Benghazi and not its aftermath, the crucial question remains: did the president abandon?

Just so everyone is clear about the Democrats´ intentions:

When America elects a credible commander in chief who acts as a responsible commander in chief, the Democrats ridicule, demonize and try to bring him down, to the advantage of our enemies (think Reagan, George W Bush). But when America elects an entirely non-credible commander in chief who acts irresponsibly as commander in chief, the Democrats prop him up by any means necessary (think Carter, Clinton, Obama).

It should be crystal clear, that in fact the Democrats do not want a credible, responsible commander in chief who acts in the best interests of the nation. Quite the opposite.

Before he gets on any planes, I hope Petraeus leaves notarized copies of the real story with a few people who won´t be bought off.
.... As for Hillary, apparently the run-and-hide bit isn´t going to work. I heard last evening that she, too, will testify. Will she repeat her infamous testimony of yesteryear by telling Congress that she ´can´t recall´ the incident?

I must admit that I have little faith that any of this testimony will take place .... unless the video footage becomes a blue dress. Videos such as this usually get ´lost in the fire´ or simply disappear.
.... Where is SandyPants when you need him?

Well, the President IS a liar. And the simplest and most effective way to say that is not to speak it but to show those real-time videos of the ambassador being dragged out of the consulate. If that had been done before the election, President Romney would be being sworn in this January.

No, those weasels hid the evidence and got their co-conspirator press corpse to help them evade any discussion of their lies just long enough to run out the clock and allow Obama to remain in power. Now, he and they believe he´s untouchable.

Let ´s see how untouchable he is. Show the video.

Does anyone who reads Lucianne really expect anyone testifying in Washington, DC to ever tell the truth?

Is there any honest person serving us in DC?

Today, I truly doubt it. They all seem to avoid, skirt around, and purposely deceive in order to ride a fence.

Disgusting are they all.

I don´t think it will really matter WHAT obama is or does as long as certain people get their stuff. Same goes for the dem party. Along with the U.S. Constitution, they seem to have pretty well jettisoned the Ten Commandments and every other law of a civilized nation.

Obama is not telling the truth. Everyone knows it. He was only concerned with his re election. To hell with everything else. If you get in his way, you will be taken down. Goodbye America! We have no hope with this man. He is evil!

The part of the country that reelected the kenyan fraud is not America. They are merely useless riffraff that happened to be born here or successfully climbed the border fence - or terminal liberals. Through negligence, we let their numbers grow above 50%.

If Gen. Petraeus hasn´t figured it out yet, this hearing today is where he´ll get his reputation back.

Then the inevitable ´´were you lying then? or are you lying now?´´ questions come up, all he has to do is tell the committee who came up with the video story. (And that line sounds exactly like a Hillary thing. Let´s not lose sight of the Huma factor in all Hillary does.)

I still smell set-up in this entire event, from before what is known, to this nanosecond. But who was (is?) being set up? Deep into the bowels, we go.

Despite Petraeus´ stupid indiscretion (of the what could you possibly been thinking variety), as a military leader he put his men first.

I truly hope he ends his career with the honor he has shown during that career, not this one. This administration MUST be exposed for what it is, criminal. Four men were left to die, begging for help, while Washington watched it in real time.

As for the FBI´s "recovery" of classified documents in the woman´s home, in the age of the Obama Justice Department, the words "planting of evidence" is not out of the question. I trust nothing they do.

I hope Petraeus does the right thing.

Forty years ago we learned everything we needed to know about that third-rate burglary known as Watergate and Nixon resigned over it´s cover-up.
But that was America forty years ago.
Moral relativism and political correctness have combined with rampant gimme,gimme-ism today and it wouldn´t matter if Obama killed Ambassador Stevens himself - this will all come to nothing. He is beyond teflon. Obama is untouchable. The media is beyond incurious. They cover for him.
So this is what it feels like to live in a banana republic under a tinpot dictator.

Right now, Petraeus is the only one in a position to bring Obama´s reign of terror to a stop before it gets gulag ugly.

So it´s gut check time for Petraeus. Is he a standup guy willing to temporarily forget about his own hide and tell the truth for the sake of his country, or is he a butt-covering uniformed version of Hillary Clinton?

the reason the libbies don´t want a responsible commander/in/chief --- IS (thank you bubba clinton) --- they are under the direction of SOROS. SOROS´ game is to do to America what he did to England with the collapse of the pound. He made a killing in England financially and now he´s pulling all the money out of America --- SO -- what´s his game plan?

WORLD ORDER.........

Hence the "taking" down of American pride and freedom...

SOROS wants serfs to do his business. He´s sitting on piles of English and American money.

FTA: "When pressed to identify who came up with the infamous “Mohammed video” talking points, neither Clapper nor Morell could recall the person responsible."

Perhaps they can´t remember BECAUSE the introduction of the talking points was carefully scripted and managed to PREVENT identification of their source, BECAUSE the "´Mohammed video´ talking points" were a prepackaged narrative, in the can and ready to roll out on 9/11, BECAUSE the administration knew beforehand that there would be 9/11 demonstrations in Cairo and set up a false narrative like the "war on women" designed to link American Christians and by extension Romney and Republicans to the video and to middle east unrest. Might as well subtitle the whole thing "Mitt Romney - Dangerous American Christian."

Remember - the American embassy in Cairo put out its apology half a day before the "spontaneous" demonstrations even began. Will someone on one of these committees please call to testify under oath the person from the Cairo embassy who issued that premature apology? Please.

Nothing happened with Fast and Furious and Nothing will happen with Benghazi because the left has the press propaganda machine and the right are afraid of it. All due respect to my fellow L-Dotr´s, but the well-bent General Petraeus is not very likely to stand up and save the country.
His wife has a fantastic Federal sinecure, with a huge pension down the road.
The General, even though currently out of a job, also has a huge golden parachute of a federal pension waiting for himself.
Blessed Hussein will be President for four more years.

You think Petraeus will suddenly develop scruples which will endanger all of this?
If so, I have some lovely swampland, I mean lakeshore property, in Northern Minnesota for sale.

The ´You Tube Made ´Em Do It´ excuse was no doubt set up by the Obama White House to play the stall until after the Election. Pure and simple.

9/11/12 caught the Obamunists with their panties at their knees.

Agree with posters who believe this will have little to no affect on Obama.

Enough Americans spoke last Tuesday and all they care about is their free cheese, phones, birth control, etc. The reputation of this country, our standing in the world, etc means nothing to them. If they even think about it - they think the US has it coming. We´re all one world now. gag

This country is not the same it was in 1973 during Watergate. And there appears to be not enough of us who do care to effect anything.

Romney was correct - Obama bought his victory with gifts at our expense; financially and morally.

Let´s save some time, and find out now, that the President, with Hillary and Susan Ricearoni, were inciting belief in their video, to hide the reason for the attack.
They made the spark, the stupid video, and then they blew on it for weeks, hoping to get ignition in the form of riots in the ME.
The attack was to end the buy back program of Gadaffi´ s stinger missiles and other worthwhile weapons to be acquired suddenly, by Obama´´s jihadists. by removing all security. The Navy SEALs were told to stand down while the hit on the bag man was carried out. It was supposed to be too late within the first hour of the attack. Chris Stephens friendship with the two SEALs was unplanned, and complicted the overthrow of the compound and the wearhouse full of weapons. We bought them back from the holders, gave them big bucks, then permitted the lot to be stolen. They will be used to attack Obama´s/muslim enemy, Israel. Fast and Furious II.

Remember O´s admiration of Hugo Chavez, muzzled press (not the MSM, but US), and his nationalization of multiple industries.

If given the chance, O would no doubt try for a 3rd term - rationale being that FDR did it, and if we don´t let him do it, we´re being racists. (Never mind that the 2-term limit Amendment wasn´t passed when FDR was alive).

Well, assembled sophisticates, you’d better pull that extended arm back toward you and rescind the offer of the Martini, for I’m about to drop off society’s tightrope and out myself as one of those people naïve enough to advance a “slippery slope” argument in public. And about guns, no less. Arguendo, let’s presume that the much-vaunted Toomey-Manchin “compromise” makes it out of the Senate unalloyed, and then that it then passes the House with nary a squeak from the right. Let’s then postulate that a majority agrees with the president that expanding background checks is a “reasonable” thing to do — redolent of “a commonsense approach” — and that those of us with the temerity to oppose it will be widely painted as “extremists.”

David Corn, the Mother Jones writer who released the "secret tape" of a Mitch McConnell campaign meeting, might have broken the law by publishing information that appears to have been obtained illegally, according to sources. Asked about how the tape was obtained yesterday on TV, Corn said, "We did not make the tape. We were provided the tape. And that it is our understanding that the tape was not part of any Watergate style bugging operation, as Mitch McConnell has claimed it to be." But as details trickle out, it seems Corn might not have been particularly forthright about the tactics used.

President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats are going to win the first round in the fight over gun control Thursday. As many as a dozen Republicans are expected to join 50 or so Democrats to shut down a Republican filibuster blocking debate on a Democrat-authored gun bill thanks, in part, to a bipartisan deal between Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) that would expand background checks on all commercial gun sales and end the so-called gun show loophole. And then the real drama will begin. “Courts Without Judges” reads the headline of an attack on Senate Republicans by the New York Times editorial board. Bemoaning the fact that there 85 vacancies in the federal judiciary, the Times asserts that “by far the most important cause of this unfortunate state of affairs is the determination of Senate Republicans, for reasons of politics, ideology and spite, to confirm as few of President Obama’s judicial choices as possible.” However, as Ed Whelan points out, in the second-to-last paragraph of the editorial we learn that “62 district and circuit court vacancies have no nominees.”

The City of New York has finally agreed to pay Occupy Wall Street for the property destroyed in the Zuccotti Park police raid on Nov. 15, 2011. OWS initiated a suit on May 24, 2012, seeking compensation for the desctruction of their People’s Library—a collection of over 5,000 donated books. About 3,600 of these were ruined during the early morning eviction of the protest camp. The City agreed to settle yesterday, awarding $47,000 in damages to OWS and $186,349.58 in attorney fees to their lawyers. “We’re very pleased with the resolution of this suit,” said Herbert Teitelbaum, a lawyer representing the plaintiffs.

U.S. and allied intelligence agencies have identified the launch zone on North Korea’s east coast where Pyongyang’s military is set to fire a salvo of missiles that risk being shot down by U.S. missile defenses in the region. The North Koreans recently began fueling two road-mobile Musudan intermediate-range ballistic missiles located along the east coast between the cities of Wonsan and Hamhung, according to intelligence officials. Where’s OFA? The pro-amnesty rally in front of the U.S. Capitol was described as “massive” on my local NPR station even before it had taken place. Here is an NBC newscast with a pretty good photo-not an up-close photo, but one that lets you gauge the size of the crowd. It’s not massive! It’s not even very large. I’d say 10,000 or fewer. Obama’s new high-tech political machine, Organizing for Action, doesn’t seem to have played a huge role in the rally. It declared a “week of action” on immigration, but that was last week. (You missed it?) .

The President’s Budget

Looking at the overall outline of the budget President Obama proposed on Wednesday makes it easy enough to see why the White House chose to leak in advance the fact that the president would propose to adopt chained CPI, one of the few non-counterproductive entitlement-reform ideas he has been willing to accept. The leak meant that Washington spent the weekend talking about entitlement reform and whether the president would anger his liberal base so that by the time the budget came out some reporters might have felt like it was old news and not actually spent much time on it.

Rothman chastised Carson for his comments and met with graduating students concerned that the famed physician was an inappropriate commencement speaker.

West Virginia Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller, one of the towering architects of Obamacare, on Tuesday openly criticized program managers for not moving quickly enough to build the system, warning that if it gets off to a bumpy start it will just get worse. Decrying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as way too complex, he warned the acting Medicare director that Obamacare is "so complicated and if it isn´t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse."

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Seven hundred Military Special Operations professionals. And one insistent and very angry Mom. This is becoming a deadly combination for the political game players in the Obama Administration. Sean Smith, the young State Department computer wizard who was brutally murdered that September night in Benghazi, was Pat Smith’s only child. Let’s say that again. Sean Smith was Mrs. Smith’s only child. To listen to her recent radio interview with another Sean… Sean Hannity… is to have the heart break.
