| Power: President Obama calls government spending "investments." But Obama had taxpayers invest not just in harebrained green energy schemes, but in those who might hurt him — like David and Holly Petraeus. The late British Stalinist journalist Claud Cockburn is given credit for quipping, "Never underestimate the effectiveness of a straight cash bribe." (Snip) On top of Gen. Petraeus´ sizable government salary, CNSNews reports that since last year his wife Holly, the victim of Petraeus´ alleged affair with author Paula Broadwell, has been enjoying a $187,605 salary as an assistant director within the Dodd-Frank law´s new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Plus his large pension. Traitor to all of America. He was bribed. He will continue to lie. Imagine those men who died were "why is no help coming?!"
Because General Betrayed you along with obama.
Now you are dead. Now imagine all the other soldiers wondering what will happen to them when they are fighting for their lives?

Pure Chicago style patronage job. This kind of crap is epidemic throughout liberal circles and a big reason we keep getting smacked with tax increases. This is clearly a no show job and it´s getting more disgusting by the day how people are selling their country out for the almighty buck.
The simple fact that Petraeus even took a job under Obama should have been a tip off he might be a closet liberal. You can pretty much assume his wife is now.

Incomplete reporting here...she got the job after a meeting in the WH with the WH staffer slated to direct the new CFPB, but who was blocked = now Senator elect Elizabeth Warren of Mass and was among its first hires...Holly was a highly executive for the BBB working on military members/family consumer issues for a short period, a position she never applied for...one someone just called and offered her the newly created post...
Holly´s name was first mentioned on this site in my 10/26 reply questioning GenP´s silence:

The least and reasonable thing to do is wait for Petraeus´ testimony. That he´s going to lie is pure unwarranted speculation at this point.
I get hope from the fact that he did not need a subpoena. Maybe he will roll over, but indications are that he may not.

Sympathy for Holly just went south. The bribery, blackmail and sell-outs occuring during this administration would, doubtless, boggle the mind. Start with Old Media´s treachery in reporting lies and hiding any truth which would unmask the president ....
What truly amazes me is the vast number of people willing to become traitors for a price. I´m one of naive ones who actually believed most American citizens would stand up for country and countrymen. But John Wayne and Bob Hope are really dead, and today´s Hollywood has desecrated their memory.

Can´t help but wonder (according to Jay Carney, say) what in her background made Mrs. Petraeus uniquely qualified for the $187K a year job as "an assistant director in the Consumer Financia Protection Bureau".

Holly´s pay - with no disrepect to her- is another indication that other people´s ( our) money is too easy to spend, as in Solyndra and other governmental matters.

Good posts, good points.
But don´t let the big points in these couple lines get past you!
FTA: The CFPB, which is expected to destroy thousands of small banks, is funded by the Federal Reserve, so Congress has no oversight over it. Indeed, Mrs. Petraeus´ post is not subject to Senate confirmation.
Clever. Set up the CFPB, thanks to Dodd and Frank, outside Congressional oversight. Well, well, well.
Oh... Holly´s sinecure pays $129,000 less than Michelle´s $316,000 evaporating Chicago hospital "job" did. Sheesh. $129,000 is a pretty hefty income itself.

They’re telling this story about Lord Beaverbrook and a famous actress. In a game of hypothetical questions, Beaverbrook asked the lady, “Would you live with a stranger if he paid you a million pounds?”
“Yes,” she answered.
“And if he paid you five pounds?”
The irate lady fumed, “What do you think I am?”
“We’ve already established that,” returned Beaverbrook. “Now we’re trying to determine the degree.” —The U. of California Pelican
We all know a version of this, but a a lady of the night is still a hooker.
And that is what Petraeus and his wife are.

Petraeus gets $200K plus in retirement pay and Holly gets $187K plus whatever he made as CIA director ($200K plus?). Roughly $600K from the public trough. Not bad.//Hitler gave his field marshals and senior generals gifts of large sums of money to shore up their loyalty. Obama is indirectly doing the same thing.

I just don´t want to join any chorus they are leading. Let´s wait and see what Petraeus does. I can just imagine one of the WH equerries noting to Petraeus that it didn´t take long for the right to turn on him in a pack. let´s give him a chance.

Leaders of the five BRICS nations plan to create a development bank in a direct challenge to the World Bank that they accuse of Western bias. The bank would use $50 billion of seed capital shared equally between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa but would undoubtedly be dominated by China. It would be the first institution of the informal forum started in 2009 amid the economic meltdown to chart a new and more equitable world economic order.

SANFORD -- For the first time, we are hearing from the teenager believed to be the last person to talk to Trayvon Martin moments before his deadly confrontation with George Zimmerman. The teen, known only as "Witness 8," is considered to be the prosecution´s key witness, but Zimmerman´s attorneys said she lied during a deposition by the Martin family´s attorney, Benjamin Crump. A new motion filed Monday said the state knew Witness 8, said to be a girlfriend of Trayvon Martin´s from Miami, had been lying, but never came out with it.

Among them: Trayvon Martin´s mother and father, their attorney Benjamin Crump, former Sanford police Chief Bill Lee Jr. and former State Attorney Norm Wolfinger. It also includes Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte and several other members of Trayvon´s family, including his step-brother and the Oviedo cousin with whom he´d spent the night the evening before he was fatally shot. In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Liberals descended on Pennsylvania Avenue Tuesday to protest President Barack Obama´s decision to include entitlement cuts in his upcoming budget, delivering 2 million petitions demanding the White House back off its support for the chained CPI. As we reported this weekend, liberals have been seething over the inclusion of the chained CPI in Obama´s budget, which they see as a huge betrayal by the Democratic president. The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
