If they were emailing, then the general´s computer was open to be hacked. I find it hard to believe the general would have sent any classified stuff to the broad. Oh well. As for Ms Kelly. She could be a "spy." With her creds as an ´honorary consul" and being "in touch" with foreigners was a great way to get the general into a blackmail scheme. Neither of the broads should have had anything related to classified material. Disappointing that the general was so very stupid.

Petraeus had a special gmail account under a psuedonym. He left his emails to her in his Drafts folder, unsent. She apparently did the same on her email account. They logged into each other´s email accounts to read the messages.

This does not mean that she could access his regular email. Or anything else in his computer. Webmail access does not give access to other parts of one´s computer.

She should just tell them that she got the classified info from the same source as that which out enemies use- The New York Times.

You certainly don´t have a clearance today just because you had one in a job five years ago, even as active military.

Her latest rank was lieutenant colonel in the Army reserve. She had been a regular Army intelligence officer. She had a security clearance as an intelligence officer which allowed her to view classified documents.

She is not a journalist by profession.

All of this has been covered in numerous articles posted at LCom since this thing began.

Her security clearance was just taken away, so she must have been authorized to have one until they found that she had taken documents.

The reason that Paul Broadwell had a current security clearance is that she is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve.

If she had substantial classified data on her computer, she must have got it from various places, and from various people who also have security clearances.

Before this is over a lot of butts are going to be dragging in the dirt, especially if they attempt to single out and prosecute Broadwell.

My experience is probably too old to apply.

I had to have the clearance then a need to know. And access was logged. Copying the information was not allowed. Usually I couldn´t take it anywhere.

But with computers and the web that has surely changed in some regards.

If Broadwell could access that account to read his Drafts folder couldn´t she read his Sent folder and his Inbox folder and other folders on that special account?

True, she probably never got into his military email.
