A Latina´s Spin On the Election
Irish Examiner USA, by Alicia Colon

Original Article

Posted By:Drive, 11/15/2012 7:15:25 AM

Conservative pundits like Ann Coulter, Karl Rove, Michael Barron, Charles Krauthammer et al were fairly confident in their predictions that Romney would sweep to victory. Some, like Dick Morris, had even mentioned a possible landslide. The mood around conservatives was increasingly optimistic that the country would be saved. I held back on this hope because most journalists and pundits live in a different world than I and consequently I have a different perspective because I live in the real one. That means living in the neighborhoods with the, "Keep Obama in president, you know, He gave us a phone" citizens.

"Robbed" is the most interesting word in this otherwise still interesting column. The current protection of institutionalized cheating must stop. It robs honest citizens of their votes by diminishing their impact by use of illigitimate ones.

I have had the gut feeling since the election that something was very very wrong. The rats have been perfecting vote stealing since 2000, and they have succeeded. Our country is over as we knew it.

Great article but that military ballot issue was found to be a hoax. Ballots were lost and delayed and the military votes were probably not counted but there probably weren´t enough to turn the tide.

She makes some very valid points. Republicans spend too much time talking to one another. Get out there and actually talk with those who are struggling and listen to what their concerns are. Then brainstorm and offer some practical solutions. I hear all of the time, "Why, when I was your age, I worked two jobs!" Well, most of the people saying that didn´t come of age in an economy like this one. There are plenty of young people who can´t find any jobs. For them, the thought of cutting back government services, when that is all they have, is frightening.

The problem #4 is that it happened at all, not if it "turned the tide." There is no longer any integrity in our elections, and while everyone is pumping out stories with their theories of how Romney lost no one will dare look or speak seriously about the problem. Why, because the enemy has infiltrated our education system and our media. They have indoctrinated an entire generation with the ridiculous notion of political correctness. They have created protected classes of people, who are free to be offended and punish the alleged offender with boycotts and sometimes legal action, basically ending free speech. Very difficult to find a bright spot these days.

Excellent article. Should be a Must Read.

There only seems to be a problem with military ballots when the race is close and it is well-known - via polling - that the military are largely for the Republican.

I heard nothing about the missing ballots´ having been a hoax. We should need to see a link to that report.

If there was ever voter fraud to this extent in my area it is assured that the electronic voting machines would be toast. There are too many sheeple. And we all know that the Department of Justice and the FBI are a complete farce. Next time you see one from these organizations I hope you will give them the respect they have earned.

Maybe the best analysis so far, especially at the end. The problem is, Republicans can never out-pander the Democrats. We aren´t shameless and dishonest enough. And "education" only goes so far, particularly in the case of the morons comprising the bulk of today´s electorate.

In other words, we´re done. This wasn´t just another lost election.

One of the reasons Romney lost is because he only spoke the truth about all the issue facing us. Obama handing out trinkets and apeing famous singer was the substance of a con-artist and hustler. It was interesting that in Philadelphia 90 or 60 precincts(not sure) there wasn´t a single republican vote...it defies probabilities. IMHO, people in those precincts gave up their vote for a cheap prize. They will find out the price they will really have to pay for a piece of glitz that will turn into trash and there is nothing on the table to eat.

I´m dreaming of something like a conservative ACORN, but instead of agitating for government benefits, we should infiltrate Boys & Girls clubs, for example, to set up after-school programs that help young people learn about running a business, or American heritage, or volunteering to help elderly neighbors with lawn care, etc. We have to think outside the box to undo generations of bash America/free enterprise education.

Having spent some years as a resident of Spanish Harlem I know and feel exaclty the way Ms.Colon has expressed her views.
The Republican Party as a whole is really a poor excuse for a party who professes honesty and fairness in government. Today it is controlled by people that have not faced or admitted to real facts. Their interest is simply for self-preservation regardless of the consequences to every one else. The Democrats have always being a party of manipulators and simply educated crooks and skirt seeking men.No wonder people are loosing interest in what is going on in Anerica. I as an Independent who has voted in the past for candidates - not party - has little positive to look forward in the next 4 to 8 years.

Republicans will never be able to out pander the liberal Democrats for the votes of mostly poor ethnic and racial groups. In the case of the Hispanic ethnic group the liberal Democrats are now pushing for the Republicans to accept an amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens, most of who are poor Hispanic people from socialist oriented countries.

These liberal Democrat devised amnesty programs always have a "path to citizenship" component that is liberal Democrat code for eventually granting most of the legalized aliens US voting rights. The object of which to to generate many millions of new poor Hispanic voters. The highly partisan liberal Democrats would not be pushing for such amnesty programs if there was any chance that more then a very small percentage of those would be new voters would ever have an epifinany and vote for conservative Republicans. Common sense tells you that.

They didn´t find the jobs they wanted, but they took the jobs they could get. And they are paying their own way. They aren´t getting rich (yet) but they are earning a living and not depending on the government or other people to support them.

This is interesting:

The Republican Party is simply not street smart. When the RNC had Michael Steele as chairman it ignored all his recommendations to wise up and instead the establishment voted him out as soon as possible.

Mr. Electable didn´t get elected, did he. And we´re all complaining about the Republican establishment, aren´t we.

Honestly, I am feeling a bit humbled and defeated right now, and I´m open to new ideas. Let´s hear what Mr. Steele has to say.

Remember, Chuck Schumer feared Michael Steele. Liberals don´t fear John McCain.

Bernard Anderson, a pathbreaking African-American economist, understands the importance of rhetoric. He was up front at the Lincoln Memorial when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his historic “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. And he was in the audience on the Howard University campus in 1965 to hear President Johnson deliver a grim view of the state of black America and declare war on “past injustice and present prejudice.” So Anderson had high hopes as he sat at home in Pennsylvania watching President Obama deliver his second Inaugural Address this year.

Next week, President Obama will propose specific cuts to Social Security and Medicare in his annual budget, according to senior White House officials. WASHINGTON — The North Korean army warned the United States on Wednesday it has been cleared to wage nuclear war using “smaller, lighter and diversified weapons.” In a speech earlier in the day, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel noted that North Korea has both the nuclear weapons and the delivery system “now.” It’s the latest round in an escalation of rhetoric and actions that began with a North Korean nuclear test in February. Still, military officials and experts don’t expect North Korea to launch an attack on the United States.

Two breaking news alerts came through the wire this afternoon: First, the AP sent word that Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has called North Korea´s latest rhetoric a real, clear danger and threat to the U.S. and its allies. Within minutes, CNBC announced that the Pentagon has sent a new missile defense to Guam. The reports that followed those alerts added some meat to the storty -- "Hagel´s comments come as tensions continue to rise between North and South Korea," etc. -- but they are notably lacking in context. How serious is the threat, really? Are the North and South on the verge of war, or is this yet another bluff?

Since November, the prospective death of the Republican coalition has hovered over American politics, and the autopsy has gained renewed attention in light of the debates over gay marriage and immigration, both of which split the GOP from rising chunks of the electorate. I’m an advocate of the theory, first put forward a decade ago by Ruy Teixeira and John Judis, that the electorate is forming a natural Democratic majority. The Republican Party appears to be caught in a double bind, in which the electorate is growingly progressively less white, and even younger white voters hold less conservative views than older ones. What’s more, evidence suggests that voters maintain the partisan allegiances they form at a young age. The picture looks grim for the GOP.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
