By every objective measure, America is in decline. But liberals insist that it is moving "forward." The modern philosophy of progress is Darwinian, holding that the latest development, whether of a country or a species, is always the best one. Mutations are assumed to be perfective, not destructive. Obama is the one "we have been waiting for," chanted his followers in 2008. They identified him as the agent of the final phase in liberalism´s revolution. In 2012, Obama drew upon this revolutionary hope again, coining "forward" as his campaign slogan. The rhetoric was slightly more subdued --
FEMA´s in charge of Darwinism in NY and NJ right now.
Christie fawned all over Obama, helping him win the election, ostensibly to secure federal funds. Guess what those funds aren´t coming so there´s going to have to be a tax increase. The media and left will rejoice over raising taxes and say all republican governors should be like Christie.
Obama and the Obamunists are smug because they´re not too terribly interested in reality. After all, the world owes them a livin´. And like the fabled grasshopper, not the industrious ant, they´re going to continue fiddling until winter comes and freezes them to death. Winter´s almost here.

Heres the nasty little truth about evolution.
The VAST majority of mutastions are either inconsequential, or fatal. "perfection" is only reached after a lot af "imperfection" dies out.
And the other little truth, there is no perfection, evolution whether Natural or societal is a response to change. Those who cannot adapt die out.Mammoths couldn´t adapt to a warming world (Neandertals either). Communist countries could not adapt to the information revolution. Most freed colonies could not adapt to self rule. The list is endless.
Republicans better learn to adapt to the changing AMerican landscape as well.
on Drudge today it showed a picture of the Chinese leader with the caption ´top commie´ . There was a picture of obama close by. The captions should have been the same. Frank M. Davis would be so proud to watch scores of ´educated´ vote for communism couched as ´fairness´. Fair in communist ussr in the 60´s meant everyone but the ´leaders´ had nothing but cold and starvation and no hope. We are moving ´forward´ rapidly to that conclusion. Only a true hatred filled unAmerican like obama could reilsh that conclusion for what has been the greatest democracy on earth. those who relish destruction will reap the same whether they have the sense to see it or not.
#3, the ´grasshopper and the aunt´ analogy is quite good. However, I don´t think these particular ants will be so willing to rescue these particular grasshoppers.
And speaking of brilliant analogies, I love the caption to today´s photo, the "Trylon and Perisphere". Had to look it up because I just knew it would be something brilliant, and it was. They were two structures created for the 1939 New York Worlds Fair. http://tinyurl.com/aw2leyt Thanks, Lucianne, for once again broadening my knowledge!
if leftists think evolution is so great, why aren´t they in favor of man made climate change? by their reckoning, it would be a perfect example of Darwinism. but, why ask why about anything any one of them thinks? They don´t think.
OBAMA: You folks represent the first entirely recessed Cabinet in American history. Do me proud. Let´s go round the table. HHS? MICHAEL MOORE: Amend ObamaCare to include lesser beings, sir. OBAMA: No. First, the remaining mammalians; then, things with legs; finally, air breathers. Treasury? PAUL KRUGMAN: Stimulus IV should tip the worldwide economy into depression within a year, sir. OBAMA: Good. That gets us closer to a one-world government. OMB? BERNIE MADOFF: [videoconferencing from prison] Economies are annoyingly resilient, sir. OBAMA: Agreed. Allred, have DOJ lawyers discover justification for footing a European bailout. We’ll overwhelm their systems with worthless dollars. CIA? MATT DAMON: al-Zawaheri´s on board, sir. We´ll get non-specific advance notice of an atrocity if we grant him U. S. citizenship and a drone exemption. OBAMA: Go for it. NSA, how’d it work out with Chavez? SEAN PENN: He’s adopted me, sir. OBAMA: Congratulations, Chico. Transportation? AL GORE: Phase out private ownership of vehicles by the end of your third term, sir. At that point, traveling by high-speed rail—-whether or not it exists-—becomes compulsory. OBAMA: Tap the Amish for additional public transport ideas. Defense? ADAM BALDWIN: Devote half the budget to weapons procurement, sir. OBAMA: Alec, this doesn’t sound like you. We can’t . . . wha? Oh Good Lord, I picked the wrong Baldwin! Oh, well. State? YOKO ONO: Divvy up our nukes to the world, sir. We can only negotiate when everyone starts from a position of strength. OBAMA: Make it so, Sudoko. Homeland Security? SHEILA JACKSON LEE: [interrupting cell phone conversation] What?
The campaign theme, "Forward" can be found in the communist manifesto, Uncle Alinsky used to brainwash his followers. Our IMPOSTER in the Oval Office was born in Kenya to a Muslim/Communist father and a Communist mother. Barack Hussein Mohammad Soetoro Obama will use his second term to continue his quest toward turning the USA into a Communist satellite/third world country. When he finishes his secone term, We, The People can then file charges against him and Pelosi for their collusion, as she knew when she approved his fake Hawaiian birth certificate it has been ´manufactured´. They both deserve looooong term jail time to answer for their crime of pulling the largest scam against the USA and for degrading the office of president. We did NOT get the Change we were promised, all we got was an ingnorant black, Kenyan who HATES EVERYTHING America, and intends on destroying OUR GREAT nation as we know it, NOT what he thinks it should be. Impeachment would be too good for this FAUX president and his entire corrupt administration, and his czars.
In 2010, Republicans took the House of Representatives by gaining 63 seats. They also picked up six U.S. senators and 675 state legislators, giving them control of more legislative chambers than any time since 1928. The GOP also won 25 of 40 gubernatorial races in 2009 and 2010. These epic gains happened primarily because independents voted Republican. In 2010, 56% of independents voted for GOP congressional candidates, up from 43% in 2008 and 39% in 2006. Today, independents look more like Republicans than Democrats, especially when it comes to health care. In a new Crossroads GPS health-care policy survey conducted in 10
House Republicans, in an unusually caustic intra-party squabble, are ripping their conservative colleagues in the Senate for what they see as an abrupt cave-in on the push to de-fund ObamaCare. “They´re waving the white flag already,"one House GOP lawmaker said Wednesday. The squabble started after House Speaker John Boehner earlier in the day announced he would agree to the demands of Tea Party-aligned lawmakers to tie a vote on de-funding the health care law to a vote on a must-pass budget bill. The move would effectively condition the approval of the spending bill on ObamaCare being de-funded, or else risk
WASHINGTON — Avert your gaze! Show some respect for the deeply troubled. Richard Trumka, the portly president of the AFL-CIO, has come forward with a pathetic acknowledgment of organized labor’s weakened condition, and I suggest compassion. In fact, his proposal suggests the moribund condition of the American left, and I urge a dignified silence. From the mainstream media we only hear of the squabbling among organizations on the right. Supposedly the Tea Party is running rampant. The other conservatives groups are unruly. The Republican Party is victimized by just about everyone. Yet, of course, these elements of the Republican Party are
Their 12-year affair made Gennifer Flowers one of the most high profile mistresses in America. Now, two decades after they split amid scandal, the former news reporter from Little Rock, Arkansas wants to ‘sit down and talk’ with Bill Clinton. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Gennifer has spoken of her deep regret at turning down Clinton’s pleas to talk some eight years ago and revealed her belief that they would still be together today, were it not the birth of Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea. She said: ‘We have some unresolved issues that it would be nice to sit down and talk about

A conservative watchdog group is suing the Justice Department to get records surrounding Attorney General Eric Holder’s contempt citation for his role in the “Fast and Furious” scandal. “Fast and Furious” was a gun-tracking operation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives that resulted in roughly 2,000 firearms being smuggled across the U.S.-Mexican border, where they were lost and fell into the hands of drug cartels. Guns from the failed operation were later recovered at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent, as well as other crime scenes across Mexico. Judicial Watch, a legal nonprofit organization, announced Tuesday
Students at the University of Southern California believe President Obama still deserves his Nobel Peace Prize, despite his stated preference for war with Syria. How did they defend this view? They couldn’t. In a video interview with Katherine Timpf of Campus Reform, USC students expressed confidence that Obama was still worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize he won just a few months after taking office in 2009. “I’m a huge Obama fan and yes, I think he does,” said one female student. But when asked what Obama had done to promote peace, she confessed she couldn’t think of any examples. Another student said she supported
Here we go again. Over at the Hill this weekend, a report surfaces that House Republicans are in the middle of what is described as a “civil war” over the defunding of Obamacare. This civil war features House Republicans like Georgia Republican Tom Graves and those who, agreeing with Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, want to defund ObamaCare — versus those who are terrified at the notion they will be blamed for “shutting down the government.” It has launched the usual handwringing from the usual “conservative” media suspects, notably the New York Times’ columnist from Canada through New York, David Brooks. Mr.
Several times a day, especially if he’s out travelin’ and talkin’ to folks, as he always is when the U.S. Senate isn’t in session, Ted Cruz will stand before an audience and reflect, seemingly for the first time, about the generational shift taking place in the Republican party. “I call them the Children of Reagan,” he says. He means the rising group of Republican officeholders who came to political consciousness during President Reagan’s two terms. He rattles off their names: “young leaders” like Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Nikki Haley, Mike Lee, Scott Walker ... and then sometimes he’ll pause, letting
In 2007, British student Meredith Kercher was murdered in the small Italian town of Perugia. Based on DNA evidence, a man named Rudy Guede was convicted of sexually assaulting and killing her. But the Perugia police weren’t satisfied. They charged Kercher’s American roommate, Amanda Knox, and Knox’s Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, with murder as well, proposing that the killing was devil worship or a sex game gone wrong. Knox was found guilty in 2009, but the sentence was overturned two years later. Now, in a shocking twist, an Italian court will consider the case for a third time, beginning Sept.
"The ShamWow guy," Vince Offer, has returned after a sex scandal to clean up his act with a new product, "InVinceable." It isn´t just a six-in-one kitchen cleaner, though. It´s a comeback. Four years after getting into a slugfest with an alleged prostitute — an incident that spawned a cringe-worthy mug shot and headlines like "ShamWow Guy Beats Up Cannibal Hooker" — the infomercial pitchman who became famous as an irreverent version of Billy Mays is launching a new product that’s supposed to scrub persistent stains. Offer says the black mark on his name after the hooker incident had a silver
WHEN I came into my office, he was in my chair, feet up, shirt off, an AK-47 propped against the desk. “President Putin,” I said, playing it cool. “Nice Op-Ed last week.” He looked up from my computer. “Ah, yes. I was just checking this, how you say, ‘most-e-mailed list’ that your New York Times keeps. I see I’m still No. 1.” “Only until someone writes a piece about Ivy League admissions, Mr. President.” His laugh sounded like ice cracking in a Siberian spring. “Call me Vlad,” he said. “And tell me: Is it always this easy to get a rise out of
Leadership sources tell me the House GOP will soon vote on a continuing resolution that simultaneously funds the federal government and defunds Obamacare. Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor are expected to announce the decision at Wednesday’s closed-door conference meeting. This means the conservatives who have been urging Boehner to back a defunding effort as part of the CR have won a victory, at least in terms of getting the leadership to go along with their strategy. But getting such a CR through the Democratic Senate and signed into law will be very difficult — and many House Republican
Washington -- The White House defended President Barack Obama from criticism that he was tone deaf in his reaction to the mass shootings at Washington Navy Yard. For a second straight day, White House press secretary Jay Carney faced questions about a Monday afternoon event that occurred as the situation at the Navy Yard was still unfolding. Obama touched on the tragedy before forcefully criticizing conservative Republicans who are threatening to shut down the government. "I understand that some Republicans are trying to make something of this," Carney said
They call semiautomatics like this sport rifles. You bet. Mostly for the sport of killing innocent people, and killing them fast. So it takes nine months and two days from Newtown, from 20 dead children and six adults, for someone else to carry the same kind of AR-15 that Adam Lanza carried into Sandy Hook Elementary School into the Washington Navy Yard. They call semiautomatics like this sport rifles. You bet. Mostly for the sport of killing innocent people, and killing them fast. This time the shooter is reported to be a Navy reservist named Aaron Alexis and when he is shot dead
For the last few weeks, House Speaker John Boehner has been trying to find a way to convince his caucus to vote for a bill that keeps the government open after Sept. 30 without picking a fight over Obamacare. But a minority of his caucus has been insisting on defunding Obamacare, egged on by outside conservative groups and a handful of far-right Republican Senators, most importantly Ted Cruz (Texas). This has been pretty annoying for a lot of House Republican members and staff. Jonathan Strong and Andrew Stiles of National Review got an anecdote out of a closed Republican Study Committee
President Obama waived a provision of federal law designed to prevent the supply of arms to terrorist groups to clear the way for the U.S. to provide military assistance to "vetted" opposition groups fighting Syrian dictator Bashar Assad. Some elements of the Syrian opposition are associated with radical Islamic terrorist groups, including al Qaeda, which was responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pa., in 2001. Assad´s regime is backed by Iran and Hezbollah. The president, citing his authority under the Arms Export Control Act, announced today that he would "waive the prohibitions in sections 40
Suffice it to say, it’s hard to do a deal when the only thing the other guy wants is the one thing you can’t give him. This null set scenario is, unfortunately, precisely where we find ourselves in the debate over funding the government beyond September 30th. House Republicans are insisting that any funding measure simultaneously de-fund Obamacare, while Democrats have rightly proclaimed this idea preposterous. And there appears to be no wiggle room in the GOP position. According to The Wall Street Journal, when Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid asked House Speaker John Boehner what else on the entire
JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO: The Affordable Care Act takes effect next month, The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Americans oppose it, believing it will produce damaging results. Fifty-two percent believe the law will raise their health care costs. Is everybody wrong? PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Yes, they are.### OBAMA: The problem we have is that over the last four years billions of dollars have been spent misinforming people about what this law is about. All of the horror stories that were talked about have not come true. It is going to be a good deal
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Monday wearily lamented “yet another mass shooting,” this time in the nation’s capital where the debate that raged earlier this year over tightening firearms laws has stalled amid opposition from gun-rights advocates. The shooting at the Washington Navy Yard came a week after voters recalled two Colorado legislators who supported tougher gun measures, illustrating the strong political headwinds faced by lawmakers seeking to respond to the violence. Obama, for one, has been powerless to get legislation passed despite a string of mass shootings during his presidency. In the wake of the shooting at the Navy Yard, Obama
For those of us foolish enough to live in a crime-gripped city that summarily denies our constitutional right to protect ourselves, this week´s massacre at the Washington Navy Yard pretty well sums up our insane, defenseless existence. Our Capitol Hill neighborhood drowned in the screams of sirens as police cars, vans, trucks and armored vehicles streaked through the narrow streets at deadly speeds. The skies filled with the constant whopping of countless helicopters.
West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin exploded over the Obama administration’s anti-coal policies Tuesday. “We’re getting the living crap beaten out of us,” Manchin said during a Senate hearing with President Barack Obama’s nominee to be the country’s top energy regulator. “There has been nothing more beat up than coal.” Manchin voiced his frustrations with rules put forward by Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency which have made it more costly and difficult for coal plants and coal mines to operate. “They just beat the living daylights out of little West Virginia, but they sure like what we produce,” Manchin added. “We
On Tuesday night, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz wrote the following open letter asking customers to no longer bring firearms into the stores, even in states where they are legally permissible to carry. He notes that this is not a "ban" on guns, but rather a request. In the letter, Schultz expresses frustration with pro-gun activists who have held "Starbucks Appreciation Day" events at the company´s location, ostensibly to laud the coffee shop´s policy on open-carry. Schultz does not want these events held at Starbucks any longer. With the letter, he risks incurring the anger of a large segment of the population.
The liberal media is so obsessed with linking the Navy Yard shooter with the AR-15 rifle that it is making up false tales of Aaron Alexis trying to obtain one. The New York Times attempts to give the impression that a so-called assault-weapon law stopped Alexis from buying a rifle in Virginia, but that is not true. The Times has a story Tuesday on its homepage with the headline “State Law Stopped Gunman From Buying Rifle, Officials Say.” The first line says: “The gunman who killed 12 people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday test fired an AR-15 assault
