The Florida Division of Elections is sending three employees to St. Lucie County on Wednesday to try to figure out how 799 votes disappeared in Sunday’s partial recount of the close, nationally watched congressional race between U.S. Rep. Allen West and Democrat Patrick Murphy. Please post more than one long sentence. Source corrected to site style.

Making your opponents votes go away leaves less of a trail than ginning up phoney votes. But, good practice requires that both methods be used in service to the WON.
And they were.
And it worked.
Again.

That large of an error in that small of a sample demands a hand re-count. Anything less is an admission of corruption.

Read the comments from Palm Beach Post readers following the article. What gives with these people? No wonder there are always problems with voting in Palm Beach county. The best was the maroon who complained about the Republicans´ contesting this race but allowing Bush to steal the 2000 election from Gore. Obviously, most of these people are low-information Obama voters.

They should be concerned. This little Congressional election could end up blowing the big Presidential election wide open. I am, if anything, always hopeful.

FTA: The partial recount shaved 667 votes from Murphy’s total and 132 from West’s — a net gain of 535 votes for West that reduced Murphy’s unofficial margin of victory to 1,907 votes
Wonder why the local board only recounted a few of the days´ voting. /s

They recounted 799 votes and 667 were wrong. That sample shows a 95% error rate, which would indicate all the votes need to be recounted, and this time by someone honest, under observation of Republican officials.

At a minimum, and whatever the outcome, this vote miscount fiasco (for just a partial recount) should serve as motivation to delve into looking at a lot more election results.
Given that these investigations can be initiated at the state level we may see progress (forget honest investigations at the Dem-controlled federal government). The process could eventually snowball, as one fraud leads to the investigation of others.

Not surprised that the fearless Col. West is not giving up. Repubs usually throw in the towel too quickly.
So. Now we have to make sure that polling places are uniform and that there are multiple checks.
Contact State and Federal representatives and demand the same safeguards we demand for the rest of the world.
It´s our sacred right.

You can send donations to help West with the cost of the recount, and the required attorneys.
It would be fantastic not to lose Col. West.

Judging by the number of articles now appearing across the country revealing widespread Democrat voter fraud, it is likely Obama stole the election. A fraud will be sworn in on Jan. 20. Obama is not my president. He´s just a dude living in public housing and shooting hoops.

Do USA citizen voters in ANY state have the confidence that their votes were secure and the total tally legal & correct in last week´s election? ...Hardly!
Where is any confidence in integrity from the conniving dems who are to be sworn in next January? Who can now expect any of them to actually keep their oath of office when the current crop of statist pols have repeatedly abused the public trust & the Constitution? So, during the next 4 years, why should there be any hope for, ´´change?´´ sigh
God bless Allen West. He has EARNED our trust and respect.

In 1990 103% of the registered Democrats voted fo Gore. 63% of the registered Republicans voted for Bush. Fishy? You BET! It was close, but Bush won in Florida. I am not sure that my vote counted in 2012??

Reply 15 is correct. There were more votes cast than there are voters in the district. This was the first clue.

Mitt Romney no longer trails Barack Obama in the Pew Research Center’s presidential election polling. By about three-to-one, voters say Romney did a better job than Obama in the Oct. 3 debate, and the Republican is now better regarded on most personal dimensions and on most issues than he was in September. Romney is seen as the candidate who has new ideas and is viewed as better able than Obama to improve the jobs situation and reduce the budget deficit. Fully 66% of registered voters say Romney did the better job in last Wednesday’s debate, compared with just 20% who say Obama

The discussion of the party identification composition of poll samples comes up in every presidential election with which I've been involved. Interested observers often opine that when a given poll shows that Candidate X is ahead, it cannot be correct because there is a higher percentage of voters who identify with Candidate X’s party in the sample than there should be, based on comparison to some previous standard.

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

More than 700 Special Operations veterans are urging members of Congress to back a select committee to investigate last year’s Benghazi terrorist attack, according to a letter first obtained by Fox News. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
