Alefty acquaitance flew his flag upside down after W was elected, and again when W was re-elected. Though the guy had the right to do it, I thought he was a little kitty for doing it.

Apparently if you´re in real immediate physical distress or under duress and were only able to raise an inverted flag to alert others, no one would respond, concluding you´re just a disgruntled crank.

Nobody can help us. We will not help ourselves.

Rather than fly mine upside down, I replaced it with my state flag and put the Gadsden flag next to it. No US flag will fly at my house while that communist is in office.

I fully agree with the rationale and support the right to do it.

However, I would rather not be targeted this early in the game and plan on keeping a low profile, but my powder dry.

I firmly believe that there is going to some ugly transitions coming, and I´d rather be prepared.

This article is way overblown. The guy put a flag out upside down and the neighbors essentially commented that they wished he´d waited for a different day. They didn´t riot, threaten, or abuse him. I can see both sides of this - perhaps he shouldn´t have put it upside down on the day he did, and perhaps putting it upside down on the day he did made even more sense because of all that died to keep the country right side up. In other words, it´s not crazy though reasonable people might disagree on the approach, and that´s what the article essentially said.

My husband said he´s going to get an American flag sticker & put it upside down in the car window.

I am a Vietnam era vet and have been flying ours upside down, except on July 4, for the last 4 years. Why not on July 4? Because I was hoping for a fresh burst of freedom on November 6, 2012.

The country we are getting is moving towards the sort every veteran served with the object of preventing.

I took my flag down upon Obama´s first questionable action (vested way too much power in unelected and unapproved "czars") and left it stored safely in my closet until the elections of 2010.
I took it down again once I knew the election results this year.
I hope the day comes when I might fly it again.

I remember all the folks who implored us to pray to God to guide us in this election, He will make things right, He will save this country, yada yada.

My response was it would do no good to just pray, that GOD had given us the tools to accomplish what we want but we were too lazy, or too dumb to see them, (or too busy praying) and didn´t use those tools. Consequently we lost.

Maybe next time we´ll pay attention to what we do have and not what we wish (pray) for. Get off our duffs, out from behind the computer and USE the tools He has already given us. Sometimes I think that is above the Comprehension Level of too many people.

I havnt flown the 50 star flag in four years. And wont before November 2016. I wont fly the 50 star flag upside down out of respect to all of the active duty men and women in my neighborhood.

These days, I fly the Betsy Ross flag. That flag represents the founding ideals.
