The Petraeus Affair
American Spectator, by Jed Babbin

Original Article

Posted By:garnet, 11/12/2012 7:50:05 AM

It´s such a cliché. A powerful man, away from home for years at a time, in jobs that put him under enormous emotional strain. A younger woman, attached to him by her job, spending endless hours with him on and off duty. That they fell into a love affair is so ordinary as to be boring. What makes the sudden fall of CIA Director David H. Petraeus different? Nothing, really, except perhaps the timing of his defenestration, and even that is only mildly suspicious. Petraeus had almost disappeared from sight after his move to the CIA last year.

I urge you all to Google "YouTube Denver Alumni Symposium 2012 Paula Broadwell" and watch the video before they take it down. The URL is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPaf5OJSskY

A number of interesting things come out there, among them the information that Petraeus was being passed over for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and that HE was the one who suggested he head up the CIA.

You know....the irony of the Bengazi "investigation" is that no matter what are determined to be the facts around the attack(and of course, we all know that the investigation was completed within 8 or 10 days of Sept. 11), can we now really trust the government....or the media....to tell we the people the true and real story? I think not.

Paula was not attached to Petreus because of her job.. That is a lie.
Petraeus was speaking at Harvard, she was in the audience, he gave her his card, and told her to call him. And she probably smiled, breathed deeply, thrust her breasta at him...and the romance novel began.
Then the lebanese babe horned in on Paula´s territory, and Paula lost it.
I think that may be the correct story, although there may be more women involved..

1) Petraeus challenged the Obama strategy as illegal.

2) Paula enlisted to seduce general for blackmailing.

3) The Lebanese babe enlisted to act as cover for conduit to the FBI... to muddy the trail of how they got involved.

That speech is from an intelligent and capable woman who got caught up in the grasp of lust. The life of a warrior and the separation from family and friends for months and years at a time takes its toll.

What a tragedy for her and her family and their hopes for the future. What a loss, hopefully temporary for a woman who can be a real asset to this country.

There are going to be horrible hits on her and Petraeus on this thread and others, and rightfully so. At these levels of security it is not tolerable, but in the overall view of humanity it is understandable. And the women who constantly lambast the men/horndogs gotta remember there´s very often a woman involved if not flaunting their wares. And that´s not to excuse.

It´s not the affair .... its the timing and the testimony. As many who know how things are done, this is something that had to have been known many months ago. Long before Bengazi. He came out with the statement that it was the video too soon, but then later made sure that it was known that no one at CIA ever turned down request for help.. I thought at the time it was kind of a convoluted statement, but now I can see it clearer.
Obama (or his handlers)stalled out the story till after the election but held this affair over his head for hopes he would be discredited. And so far its working. Shame on folks for falling for it!

No need for a rush

The first open enrollment period under the Affordable Care Act ended this week with roughly 7.5 million people obtaining policies through the new state insurance exchanges, including more than 1.3 million at Covered California. That´s an amazing and welcome result, considering how badly many of the exchanges stumbled when sign-ups began in October. Nevertheless, it´s far too early to judge the success or failure of the healthcare law, given that key tests of the program´s sustainability have yet to be passed. Almost all of the exchanges got off to a wretched start, particularly the federally managed ones that shared a mind-bogglingly

Obamacare hasn´t "won"—but it´s making a pretty impressive run. The headlines about the Affordable Care Act have turned positive lately, and they´re starting to pile up. The most dire predictions from the law´s critics simply haven´t panned out, and now Democrats are headed into another big health care fight—the confirmation of a new Health and Human Services secretary—with stronger real-world evidence than they´ve had before. There´s important information we still don´t have about enrollment, and big risks loom on the horizon. Things could change. But right now, the tide seems to be turning in the White House´s favor. Narratives feed on themselves, and

War on women alert: One of the most forceful fighters against misogyny in the modern era is under attack. Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been a vocal critic of women´s oppression under Islamic law. She´s blasted arranged marriage, legally sanctioned domestic violence, genital mutilation, and the killing of adulteresses and rape victims. Despite being a supporter of abortion rights, an atheist, and an advocate of gay and women´s rights, she is despised by many who claim to be defenders of women´s rights. Over the years, they have worked to delegitimize her in the hopes that she will be silenced.

It was disappointing the other day to see President Barack Obama embracing the vulgar race hustler Al Sharpton. President Obama once eloquently confronted race in a memorable speech in Philadelphia in 2008. That speech was remarkable and honest and, to borrow a favorite word of the political left that still fawns over him, it was nuanced. But there was nothing particularly remarkable about Obama standing next to the preening Sharpton, speaking in New York to his National Action Network. Except that Obama expertly used a message of victimization to begin energizing black voters, who provide the electoral foundation for the Democratic Party.

The replacement of Kathleen Sebelius by Sylvia Mathews Burwell as the Secretary of Health and Human Services has been portrayed by the legacy “news” media as a new lease on life for Obamacare. The party line is that Sebelius was mortally wounded by GOP exploitation of a single uncharacteristic mistake—the botched rollout of Healthcare.gov—while Burwell is a brilliant Beltway veteran unsullied by controversy and possessing the very administrative skills needed to save Obama’s “signature domestic achievement.” (snip) This tale fails to conform to the facts, however.

Last Tuesday, our President swaggered into the Rose Garden to announce that 7.1 million people have signed up for health coverage through Obamacare’s exchanges and that all further argument about the future of his “signature domestic achievement” was pointless: “The debate over repealing this law is over. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay.” The problem with this claim is that no one with a basic grasp of arithmetic believes Obama’s enrollment figures, only about a quarter of the electorate supports his “reform” law, and it is still the target of multiple lawsuits challenging its constitutionality.

A new survey reveals that public esteem for Obamacare is continuing to plummet, hitting yet another historic low. (snip) The AP survey shows that a mere “26 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act.” (snip) When the law was passed, 39 percent of the public supported it. But the President, along with his accomplices in Congress and the media, assured us that this percentage would rise once “reform” was implemented. In other words, Obama and his minions are no better at prognostication than they are at managing websites, insurance exchanges or anything else relating to health care.

One of the reasons Clarence Thomas gives for the studious silence he maintains during Supreme Court hearings is that his fellow justices have shown an increasing tendency to talk too much during oral arguments, thus preventing advocates from presenting their arguments coherently. Yesterday’s Supreme Court hearing in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius suggest that Thomas is right. Paul D. Clement, who appeared on behalf of the two companies challenging the Obamacare contraception mandate, was repeatedly interrupted and badgered by justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Ginsburg.

The most febrile of George W. Bush haters liked to claim during his tenure that the former president "scared" them. There is far more reason to be frightened by President Barack Obama, because fecklessness and inconstancy trigger wars. The outstanding example of weakness inviting aggression was the conduct of the democracies toward Adolf Hitler in the 1930s. Though it has been retroactively tainted as shameful cowardice, the policy of appeasement grew out of a "war weariness" that was far more understandable than our own. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,
