A Pyrrhic Victory for America’s Youth
National Review Online, by Scott W. Atlas

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/12/2012 5:37:45 AM

Dancing in Chicago, young voters gleefully celebrated President Obama’s victory. Indeed, voters younger than 30 may well have changed the outcome of the race. They represented 19 percent of all voters, even more than they did in 2008, and they favored President Obama by 60 to 37 percent, according to exit polling. One college student asked me, “What exactly are they so excited about?” Presumably, they aren’t celebrating their job prospects. Under this administration, unemployment of younger Americans and recent college graduates is not very different from the scandalous unemployment rates of youth in failing European countries

Maybe they think that obamacare means free health care? Maybe they think that now film stars and music pop stars will want them to hang out with them? Maybe they won´t have to pay back student loans? Maybe they were waving around their arms just to show of their new tattoos.

Bless them. Just not a whit of common sense.

Very few of the college aged students that voted would have received a passing grade in the high school civics class I took in 1976. Here´s an example of who is deciding our fate.

Open letter to Obama voters:

All of you who voted for Obama have done so preaching “good intentions”.

However there are unintended consequences. The under 40 demographic voted to direct Washington to disinherit them, tax their retired parent´s dividend income that they are living on, force small business employees to fire employees and NEVER grow beyond where they are right now.

The “Taxed” pay for government services that the “Untaxed” use and yet they are accused of NOT paying their fair share. For every government job created, 5 private sector jobs need to be create to cover the salary with those tax receipts. Washington has failed to create that environment on Main Street so they borrow without conscience and our children’s financial future is savaged!

Charities will now receive less in contributions because Washington has confiscated those donations to spend on government waste in the form of higher taxes without any conscience and lack of fiduciary responsibility (continued).

(continued)(open letter to Obama supporters)

Congress collects 1 million dollar pensions, have their own Cadillac health care plans, refuses to be audited and has create a 16 trillion dollar accumulated deficit and also a 120 trillion dollar unfunded liability fiasco.

This is all been able to occur because the Media and the MSM have successfully demonized ANYONE who just wants to balance the budget and characterized them as haters using the Progressive Hate-Cards of Class | Faith | Gender | Race | and political party.

This march to Big Government will culminate into complete collapse of America just like Rome. Your vote will be held to account in the upcoming elections in 2014 and 2016. The two party system is financially devastating the middle class and but you continue to be a willing participant in this atrocity. I am closing my business of 28 years because of the 28% of voters (like you) who voted for Obama. My two employees will also be unemployed because of your vote.

Your conscience will haunt you because you believed the thieves on Wall Street and the idiots in Washington. I did not! But please continue to outsource your thinking and destroy America. For me, I will continue to advocate less government and more Freedom!

It disturbs me that so many of these young people seemed so unmarked by life. Their faces show no signs of having ever had to worry about anything.

I wonder how many are still being subsidized by parents and grandparents?

The day after the election one of these charming creatures called on behalf of my alma mater. I don´t think she liked what I told her.

Three Questions on Immigration

‘Comprehensive immigration reform,” a deal on which is reportedly imminent, has a lot of moving parts — too many, in truth, as with most “comprehensive” legislation. Among the costs of comprehensivism is that debate over such bills often gets bogged down in the many details. Americans seeking to evaluate any deal should ask three questions about it to cut through the noise. First: Will it encourage future illegal immigration? This has always been the greatest risk of proposals to provide legal status for current illegal immigrants: that it will be seen as a reason for others to come here illegally

Republican leaders in Congress received a dire warning on Tuesday from former Vice President Dick Cheney on the ongoing crisis in North Korea. “We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to a GOP leadership aide. Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn´t share the United States worldview. One lawmaker present at the session, Rep. Steve Southerland of Florida, said Cheney wore a cowboy hat and "looked really good, spoke really clearly, lucidly.” “It was nice to see him doing well,” Southerland said, noting the last time Cheney was on Capitol Hill

How many federal agencies does it take to do catfish safety inspections? At least three, according to the Government Accountability Office, which on Tuesday released its 2013 report on fragmentation and duplication of federal programs. This year´s report -- there were two previous editions of the report first requested by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. -- documents an estimated $95 billion in duplicative programs that waste precious tax dollars. That brings the three-year total of potential savings documented by GAO to $295 billion. WASHINGTON — Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. showed up late at an event last week, saying he was delayed because “the president keeps those meetings going longer.” But he walked into a Hillary Clinton crowd. Outside, supporters hoisted signs urging her to run for president. Inside, she was greeted as a hero. Not that Mr. Biden was an afterthought. He had plenty of friends in the room. But at the Kennedy Center, where women’s achievements were being honored by an organization Mrs. Clinton helped found, even Mr. Biden recognized that the best applause line belonged to her.

There´s more than a touch of Chicken Little in common arguments for more infrastructure spending. "The bridges are falling, the bridges are falling!" Every four years, the American Society of Civil Engineers issues the U.S. an infrastructure "report card." And, just as predictably, it says that U.S. infrastructure is decrepit and needs expensive new investments. The latest one, released last month, gave the nation a D+ grade and recommended an extra $1.6 trillion in spending by 2020. Are American bridges actually falling, though? Is the U.S. underinvested in infrastructure? Maybe it´s going too far to say,

The administration has said that strikes by the CIA’s missile-firing Predator and Reaper drones are authorized only against “specific senior operational leaders of al Qaida and associated forces” involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks who are plotting “imminent” violent attacks on Americans.
