New York readies for Veterans
Day as region struggles

Reuters, by Edward Krudy

New York City was preparing to stage its first major event since cancelling its annual marathon as thousands of victims of Superstorm Sandy continued to struggle with power outages, gasoline shortages and freezing weather conditions.Sunday's annual Veterans Day Parade is expected to attract crowds of over 600,000 people to central Manhattan and will be a test for a city still struggling to clean up after one of the worst natural disasters in the region's history.Thousands were in temporary shelters, and in New Jersey a tent city on the edge of Monmouth Park racetrack was home to hundreds.

Comments:
About a quarter million people are still without power... many have generators but gasoline deliveries have been slow and messed with by government. If the president were a Republican, you´d be hearing about this 24/7. Just sayin´.

New Yorkers are sending mixed messages. They vote in a democrat who wants to dismantle all that is American, and then wave American flags to celebrate their support.

The left ridiculed Bush´s FEMA trailers but I´ll bet a lot of these storm victims would give their eye teeth for one right now.

I also saw where they have to bring the military in to fix the electrical grid problems.Of course they´ll only make 10% of what the unionized electrical workers make in a time like this.

If the government needs to invest in infrastructure,it should start with a more secure electrical grid. You have Russian and Iranian subs that know exactly where to hit us to cause a national catastrophe and that doesn´t even include hacking into the software.

Trees are a menace but the tree huggers will never allow them to be cut down.

A couple years ago,Balto had a street Grand Prix race which was foolish itself but a couple people had the gall to cut a couple trees down and some leftists went nuts over it.

#1, the entire country is sending mixed messages this week. As a veteran, I always reflected on this day in particular as to the fruits of freedom that were harvested by those who served. This year, those fruits do not taste right.

Unfortunately as the majority of these storm victims are Democrats, this won´t be a learning experience for them. Their president was playing golf Saturday. What were they doing?

NY Metro area, no food, water, heat, shelter....while their messiah golfs.

Bloomingidiot planned for the marathon, and Cuomo spits meaningless anger that accomplishes nothing.

With the 51% low class slimy Marxist traitors who spit on our Constitution and the Uniform of all who served and those who died for this Country and chose to kiss Obama´s behind and voted for him, it´s hard to feel very patriotic today.

I´m thinking seriously if I see anyone who admits to voting for Obama I will spit on them as they have spit on our Constitution and my Uniform. Then they can get on their knees and thank their Allah that I didn´t shoot them.

Which brings up the question I´ve asked several times. If we shot and killed Communist in Korea, Communist in Vietnam, then why can´t we shoot the ones in the US? Please, don´t tell me it´s the law because the left wing communist/socialist are the biggest offender of disobeying the Constitution and the Law, and that includes the alleged illegal President.

I wonder why I ever volunteered to serve in the military for this country? Oh, yeah! That´s when Americans used to love this country, but now it has become an object of ridicule to the rest of the world. China used to refer to us as a "Paper Tiger", back when we had the ability and will to show them what were really were. But now, we aren´t even a paper tiger but a toilet tissue pussycat.
I am ashamed to call myself an American as long as these people remain in power.

Let’s lay out a hypothetical scenario. An American walks into a mosque during Ramadan, opens fire while quoting Bible passages and then leaves behind a Bible. On a scale of 1 to non-stop coverage, how often do you think you would be hearing about it, how fast would religious motives be attached to it and how quickly would we learn that the bible was left behind? But the same rules don’t apply to Islam.

Hostility has been mounting this week in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, after two plainclothes police officers fatally shot 16-year-old Kimani Gray after he allegedly pointed a revolver at them on Saturday night. On Monday a group of about 130 people were marching toward the 67th Police Precinct station when about two dozen young protesters splintered off — drawing riot police — and trashed a Rite Aid. Tuesday the crowd was mostly calm, but on Wednesday — the same day Gray´s autopsy showed he had been shot seven times ...

Post Thanksgiving ruminations and ruinations ... Question: When is it better to earn $29,000 than to earn $69,000? Answer: When you’re a single mom living in Pennsylvania. Why? Because, thanks to our generous welfare system, a single mom makes out better that way. When all the benefits are added up, the lower-paid single mom qualifies to receive $57,327 in net income and benefits, while the mom who earns $69,000 ends up with a net income and benefits of $57,045.

The fall premiere of ABC's "Last Man Standing" sitcom starring Tim Allen felt the censor's sting, and the censoring had nothing to do with George Carlin's infamous seven dirty words. In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”
