My President Is Busy
New York Times, by Thomas L. Friedman

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 11/11/2012 1:20:44 AM

Israeli friends have been asking me whether a re-elected President Obama will take revenge on Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu for the way he and Sheldon Adelson, his foolhardy financier, openly backed Mitt Romney. My answer to Israelis is this: You should be so lucky. (Snip) No, my Israeli friends, it’s much worse than you think: You’re home alone. Of course, no one here will tell you that. To the contrary, there will surely be a new secretary of state visiting you next year with the umpteenth road map for “confidence-building measures” between Israelis and Palestinians.

Comments:
WARNING: This will hurt your teeth trying to read. I am posting for two reasons:

1. Presidential elections have consequences. When you either see the blast before the mushroom cloud, or just the fallout from the dirty bomb that Iran produced, thank the current pResident.

2. For any Jews out there reading this that supported 0bama, this will be partially your legacy. It won´t matter whether you believe in Jesus or not. You may meet Him sooner, once the Dogs of War are let loose in the Middle East.

This would be breathtaking were it not so predictable. This is the New York Times (= the Obama campaign) telling Israel to fall into the sea, never come back, and by the way screw you. In other words, exactly what "progressives" have always felt but few dare say out loud. Obama voters knew they were voting for a Hope-fully Israel-free Middle East, and the ones who deny that may feel less inclined to continue the lie as Obama´s support for Islamism become more and more obvious, and bold.

What this is, is setting up Israel as the "threat" and the whipping boy, for the coming day when it must defend itself against enemies increasingly allied with the unholy Obama regime.

I won´t be clicking on a Friedman column, but thanks for posting.

I think I´m done worrying about Israel. I´m tired of supporting conservative "grown-ups" rushing in to defend our interests, only to have Jewish Americans solidly support the Democrats time after time.

If they care about Israel (maybe they just don´t), then let them turn to the Democrats to defend them. To Obama, at least, Israel is "one of our greatest allies" in the region, and my very own senator, Chuck Schumer, solemnly avers that Israel has never had a greater friend than Barack Obama.

So prove it.

Wake me up when it´s over.

From Haaretz:

"In the past, both the Zionist movement and the Jewish state were careful to be identified with the progressive forces in the world. ... But in recent decades more and more Israelis took to leaning on the reactionary forces in American society. It was convenient to lean on them. The evangelists didn’t ask difficult questions about the settlements, the Tea Party people didn’t say a word about excluding women and minorities or about Jewish settlers’ attacks and acts of vandalism against Palestinians and peace activists. The Republican Party’s white, religious, conservative wing was not agitated when the Israeli Supreme Court was attacked and the rule of law in Israel was trampled"

If an Israeli paper writes such things, why is anyone surprised that New York Jews don´t vote to support Israel either?

American influence in the world is on the wane. This administration´s ´concern´ for Israel is a sham.

Israel stands alone.

Democrats are battling the White House over proposed cuts to Medicare Advantage, creating a new divide on healthcare just as the party had begun to rally around ObamaCare’s 7.1 million enrollees. The issue threatens the newfound momentum Democrats have on healthcare after a late surge of ObamaCare enrollees surprised and electrified a party that had been beaten down after months of bad news associated with the healthcare law’s rollout. It’s particularly sensitive during an election year, as both parties court senior voters, who make up a disproportionate percentage of the voting population in midterm elections.
