I probably agree with most of the recriminations in this story about personal behavior etc. but we have a president who is actually guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors getting a free pass.

When JFK might have been involved with a Russian spy,people under him we´re worried to death about the supposed woman´s ability to blackmail him.Can anybody find one person that would condemn JFK for his whole slew of cheating with women? Oh,that´s just the way it was with the Kennedy´s,nothing to see here.
Now we have a holier than thou writer for this paper ready to equate Petraeus´s sins with Chairman Mao killing millions of people.

The point is the double standards when it comes to liberal´s convenience.It´s just a coincidence that Obama will get away with his Benghazi lies now.

I do not condone infidelity on the part of anyone--but there´s a huge "BUT" here. The general admits to an inappropriate relationship with his biographer, yes. But what are the details? There´s a scale involved here and this relationship is not on the same scale as a young and vulnerable intern in the anteroom to the Oval Office while Arafat waits for his appointment with Bill Clinton and which would have continued had the affair not been discovered. then ask yourself which one was the more vulnerable in this particular fling. Yes, I know Petraeus should have known better and I wouldn´t be terribly pleased if my husband was involved in an affair. In fact, I divorced a husband for that very reason. But you have to look at the circumstances to determine the amount of guilt involved.

In my ex´s case there was no guilt, only a shrugging of the shoulders and he would have carried on if I hadn´t accidentally found out. Like Clinton, he was a good liar and, as it turned out, a serial adulterer. But is the same true of Petraeus? Was this affair a one-time mistake, ending quickly but still causing a large amount of guilt for Petraeus or was he a serial adulterer who would have continued on his merry way had he not been found out?

And when exactly did this affair take place? Before or after he was appointed to the CIA?

We definitely need to know a lot more before judging this man who, unlike a couple of Commanders-in-Chief we know, has performed sterling military service for this country.

How long did this investigation go on? And, if the fbi had serious concerns about him, why was he left in charge of the cia? I think obama´s master has people placed in important places to serve its(not sure if the master is man or woman)desires and NOT to serve and protect the USA.
The voters certainly are getting what they deserve by choosing such a (adjectives fail me)man for potus.

And Barak Obama hasn´t let us down...he runs a culture of corruption...

Good grief people, the military has been doing this for centuries. Going "native" is nothing new. Just look at the tons of military who come home with overseas brides. The married guys were smart enough to come home alone and the wives back home knew it.

Princeton Petraeus has a frumpy wifey of 37 years, whether you like that description or not. The "other" woman´s picture suggests the exact opposite of such a perspective...perfect weapon to use by a malignant narcissist...

I wonder if the sanctimonious "NY Daily News" had done, or considered doing, a piece on Nanny Bloomberg and the women he is shacked up with...and do they use Gracie Manor for their shack?

I can´t defend Patraeus being unfaithful but don´t buy into the argument that this eminently qualified leader should have stepped down. What would be the result of waving a magic wand over the House and Senate chambers today and make disappear all those who´ve been unfaithful. I suspect many, many seats would be empty. And I suspect that those remaining would represent a Republican majority in both houses.

It used to be said that an officer who cheated on his wife would also cheat on the Army, Whatever happened to duty, honor, country?

Petraeus needs to testify and tell us why 0bama and Hillary denied these four brave Americans any help when they requested help. These four people are dead. Petraeus needs to come forward.

1. Petraeus should have been smart enough to not have an affair. He´s in a position where it´s a terrible risk and he did it anyway, even incriminating himself through e-mails.

2. The FBI was investigating the woman for attempting to get into the general´s e-mails. What´s that about? Did she do that?

3. No mention of this incident should sit there without demand for justice for the Benghazi 4. This thing seriously impedes achieving that, and someone has to make noise about it.

There´s a reason why people in positions of power should NEVER be left alone in a room with a member of the opposite sex, especially attractive ones.
The fact he was writing a bio of himself indicates a bit of hubris had developed within him.

History and Scripture are replete with cases like this one. We´re all programmed with this vulnerability, which too often overrides our cerebral cortex. It´s part of our survival mechanism as a species, and a humiliating force when it takes hold. David Petraeus is human. We´re all sinners. Those who deny it are - liars.
