CIA Director Petraeus Resigns,
Cites Extra-Marital Affair

NBC News [Los Angeles], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 11/9/2012 3:05:22 PM

Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus has resigned, citing an extra-marital affair, NBC News reported. "Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position," Petraeus said in his resignation letter. "After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours." "This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation," Petraeus said in the letter. Election's over. Obama sees no point in keeping Petraeus under his thumb now. I wonder when this affair happened and if Obama was using it to keep Petraeus from running against him.

Like he's going to turn states evidence!!
This president is untouchable and the dear general will fall on his sword and take "credit" for all the nefarious decisions that went on regarding Benghazi.

then, our ever incompetent Darell ISSA will proclaim, "CASE CLOSED!!!"

Lets all move on now and reach across the aisle and pony up more taxes for everyone!!! What a happy 4 years these will be!!!

At least he says he's sorry.

So he resigns over his affair but remains silent about Benghazi.

Where does the weary eye repose when gazing on the great, where neither guilty glory glows nor despicable fate.

If he kept quiet about Benghazi it is a teachable moment as to why personal conduct matters. Not for Dims, of course, since they wouldn't care about either side of the equation.

From the Bamster's earliest days in Chicago, Axelrod specialized in digging up dirt, busting into sealed divorce records, etc. to force Obama's rivals and potential rivals to leave public life.

Affair was with Debbie Wasserman Schultz. It wasn't the betrayal of his wife that caused his resignation but the fact that it was DWS.

The term, How Could You?!?! has more than one meaning. "With her! You can't mean her. You mean you dumped me and those lookers in your office for DWS? You're sick."

From that time on...
Honor and offer.

Why can't men think before they do this? It is a career-buster unless you are Jesse Jackson or his son. It takes a wife and trashes her--see Hillary Clinton. It is immoral and if you are the head of the CIA, it compromises the trust people should have for you. It paints you as a liar and a cheat (See Bill Clinton) and nobody but the liberals will ever believe anything you ever say again. Petraeus is an idiot. Did he think he could keep this sort of behavior secret? People always tell. Stupid!!!

I believe a couple of things -
first, General Patraeus was smart enough to release this on a Friday;
second, he is a great, great soldier where country comes first;
thirdly, there are men who would follow him to the gates of hell;
fourth, an affair is a badge of honor among dems - we all come short of the glory of God - see above poster on MO of axelgrease;
fifth, the dems play to destroy and to win at all costs, even at the expense of a great soldier; and,
lastly, the MSM will dig thru his trash and try to find the other woman.

Why would anyone devote his life to his country only to be dragged thru the mud like this - OK, so we all sin and he came clean about it. Why would any young soldier aspire to greatness?

We're cutting the military back to its bare bones so when they are needed, they will manage with less and less to be successful and try to protect us.

So what does the Devil (for those who still believe a dark force called the Prince of the Earth exists)have in common with this those in this story? He uses them and when they have given him their all, he destroys them in delight.

If Satan didn't own the world and the nations, how could he offer the Lord or Lords that perk on the Temple spires.

Luckily he has no power in the other Kingdom, the Kingdom of light, not to menton hope and peace. RIP General.

Was he set up?
Did it just happen?
Did they "always" know about it?

Could/would" Obama use it, "if necessary!

Will Petraeus testify before Congress?

Sadly, Patraeus should have known better! The Libs called him General Betray-US! They have no consideration - only "use" those who do not fit into their plans will be thrown under the bus!

Time for America to rise up and say "Why now!" This should have been reported sooner, if true.

What does Mrs. Petraus say? Is she going along with the Obama henchmen just to have her husband with her.

There is no love between those who will use anyone for their agenda!

Obama may have won, but he is still accountable to Almighty God. He knows the whole truth. He alone is able to define who Obama is and why he does what he does.

This is not over. Obama will trip up one day! The real Obama will stand before US in his empty suit, gazing at his empty chair!

God has His payday, maybe not tomorrow, but Obama will be held accountable. He alone will suffer the consequences of his actions, as will the whole liberal party, mainly the liberal media, who again defied the country, lied about Romney, set in order their socialistic agenda. Sadly, they will lose there too! Satan is a very harsh employer!

Obama's opposition research team knew of his affair, kept it under wraps, then sprung it just as he was to be called to testify on Benghazi.

Who do they think they are fooling?

I hope that he testifies as former director of the CIA, and that the entity(ies) conducting the hearing(s) do not let this enter into their evaluation of his testimony.

My feeling is that the Gen thought Obama wouldn't win and allowed them to keep him silent for a time. If Romney won, he could aid the investigation. Now he's out and he can aid the investigation. I hope.

I'm probably giving him way too much benefit of the doubt, but he's been solid before this incident so I think he's earned it.

I guess Hillary can close her file on Petrarus now. He probably had the goods on the State Deparment over Benghazi and was willing to come clean to keep the CIA from being scapegoated. I suppose he was already retired from the Army, not on loan, so this shouldn't affect his retirement pay.

No doubt in my mind, Bam Bam had data from Jarrett and they were waiting for the opportune moment to tell Petraeus to resign or they would go public. There was no reason in the world for such information to be given unless obama wanted...... "REVENGE".
Watch for other resignations with the same type of vindictive reasons.

It is very difficult to find the serious thinkers on this thread. This really isn't the place for drivebys.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the timing on this is very suspicious. And the fact that we knew Petraeus was going to have to pull the rug out from under Obie and his fools when he went before a hearing, under oath.

The Obama dirt machine knew about the affair and simply held that information until an appropriate time for maximum effect and benefit to Obama. That time was now.

As it is, his blackmailers may end having been closer to home...the Chicago brigade occupying the White House and most of the rest of government.

Will his "partner" in crime, confess too?

The Libs identify "with" adultery as well as abortion!

The "majority" had denied God in their Democratic platform, still denying Him on the third vote,then the one in charge declaring they will "change back" to win an election!

Also, the Dems denied Jerusalem as the capitol of Israel. Don't look for any cooperation with Israel, God's people, who promised them the land "forever"! They are trying to usurp God's power! Not a good plan!

The Dems have met their match when they think they can challenge God. The votable Dems loved/loves their entitlements and will cry out "Obama gave it to me", not knowing or want to know that their neighbors (employed) are suffering to supply them with their Obama gifts!

Today, we as Christians, have an opportunity to "let our light shine", knowing God is sovereign and He is just, giving them enough rope to hang themselves! Satan first deceives, then makes his prey to "feel" they are not important, then goes further to "steal/kill/destroy" to further his agenda!

This war is not over. We will have many battles/skirmishes, but God loves US and wants US to make a stand for righteousness and it is only found in Jesus Christ, God's only-begotten Son - John 3:16. He came to set the captives (those under Satanic bondage) free and it only found in Him.

Time to get on your knees and acknowledge God as the only means by which we are/will be saved!

Pray in agreement with God's holy Word! God's Door (Jesus) is open, ready/willing/able to "deliver US from all evil, here and abroad. Amen

From my Conservative Christian friends in Wash. DC, from a Biblical viewpoint -- EVERY man and woman, who comes there to serve, is bombarded by temptations to sin, in EVERY way possible. And, these temptations NEVER stop.

General Petraeus succumbed to the temptations. He, his wife and family, the CIA, and We the People are paying the severe penalty for his sin.

I am making observations. I am not throwing the first stone.

Our actions have consequences... sometimes terrible consequences.

John Bolton is telling Neal Cavuto that Petraeus will be testifying on Benghazi. Even if they have to subpoena him. Bolton is confident that he will have to tell his story, "maybe not Thursday, but in days or weeks". In either open or closed (classified) hearings, he will have to tell what happened from the CIA's point of view.

I trust John Bolton.

How could Big Labor and the Chamber of Commerce and the tech world and Big Agriculture all unite behind one bill? Very tentatively. It wouldn´t take much to break the coalition apart. The Oscar-nominee appeared in great spirits as she made the rather regal gesture from her home in Carmel-by-the-Sea, on California´s north coast - a quiet little enclave also home to Clint Eastwood - the first time she´s been seen in public since 2008. After opening up to Closer Weekly about her milestone birthday, revealing she´s still very much in demand, with scripts pouring in all the time, the silver-haired beauty appeared as sprightly as

WASHINGTON- Seven million people signed up, so there is an appetite for President Barack Obama´s health care law, but that doesn´t guarantee success for the country´s newest social program. Big challenges are lurking for the next enrollment season, which starts Nov. 15. Chief among them are keeping premiums and other consumer costs in check, and overhauling an enrollment process that was advertised as customer-friendly but turned out to be an ordeal. "They have demonstrated the law can work, but we are a ways off from being able to judge its success," said Larry Levitt, an expert on health insurance markets

U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin spent the week defending his decision last weekend to attend an event in Corbin, Ky., that most attendees knew was a rally to legalize cockfighting in Kentucky. Bevin has said he didn´t know it was a rally supporting cockfighting and thought it was a "state´s rights" rally. After ducking other calls for comment, Bevin went on WHAS radio´s "Terry Meiners Show" on Thursday to talk about the rally, cockfighting and other things. "I´ve never been to a cockfight, I don´t condone cockfighting, but here´s the thing: I´m not going to disparage people for exercising their First Amendment rights,"

When it comes to Obama-era scandals, the American Right’s predominant emotion is frustration — a frustration that causes hypertension levels usually seen only in Cubs fans and the unfortunates hired to do PR for Lindsay Lohan and Shia LeBoeuf. Liberals dubbed Ronald Reagan the “Teflon president” because they felt nothing ever stuck to him. President Obama is the Scotchguard president; the would-be scandals that ought to be dogging his administration simply seem to bead up into little droplets before they are briskly wiped away. Conservatives will tell you, and rightly so, that this is happening because the mainstream media — the prestige
