| DALLAS – George P. Bush, a nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of one-time Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has made a campaign filing in Texas that is required of candidates planning to run for state office, an official said Thursday night. The younger Bush, a Fort Worth resident, filed a campaign treasurer appointment Wednesday, a requirement for someone to become a candidate under campaign finance law, Tim Sorrells, general counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, told The Associated Press.

Good! This is the handsome young son of Jeb... He is fluent in Spanish, and I believe a bit Conservative- more so than Uncle.

~~Bush also has Navy service on his resume, including a six-month deployment to Afghanistan, where, for security purposes, he was given a different name. Not even those he was serving alongside knew he was a Bush.~~
A little unknown news here. Good for him. He's a good one.

#6 -- There are plenty members of the Bush family that have NOT gone into politics. Actually, there are more of them that haven't run for office or served in the public sector than have.
Good for George Prescott Bush! Not only is he conservative, but he is handsome and articulate in two languages.
As an aside, I think the GOP would be smart to really build the Hispanic population in Texas. We desperately need to keep Texas a RED state, and I think winning Hispanics in that state will be key as they will help us export the GOP to Hispanics around the country.

Just what the GOP needs, folks that can relate to the Latino Community. If we ever want to see a Repub in the WH, its the only way to go in the future. George P. is a perfect fit for the Conservatives.

Smart, likable young man. He may have the Bush name, but remember that he is also Hispanic through his mother. He has been involved with politics all his life; no surprise that he sees a future for himself there.
Very impressed that he served in Afghanistan under an assumed name.

One issue politics is bad form. Except when an issue threatens the American way of life, such as uncontrolled, illegal immigration followed by amnesty, repeat. Our sovereignty is at stake. Our culture is under attack from within. The Bush family is wrong on immigration. They have a romanticized view of it. I’d like to invite them to my public work place to witness the blatant anti-American attitudes prevalent among the “students.” In our “mock” election, Romney received 8 percent. That’s about what I expected because hispanic youth are brainwashed to vote democrat from the time they are 18 months old. One platitude that is dead wrong says hispanics have a strong work ethic. Perhaps former generations were hard workers, but the newest waves are entitlement class. Gimme, gimme, gimme.

There are lots of handsome young men(and pretty women)who can speak Spanish fluently and have done all those other things young P has done.

Sorry, no. No more Centrist Bushes. If this guy is a TEA Party patriot, okay, but it is unlikely.
We have held our noses, and voted for the GOP nomination. We have done everything that 'the Architect' and all the beltway insiders have told us to do, and voted for the person who would win.
Only, guess what? They didn't. Either the GOP changes, and puts TEA Party principals at the head, and returns to it's founding principles, or I'm out. It is better to vote convictions and lose (we are losing anyway), than abandon them in the hopes that the moderates we elect will help stop the destruction.
Most of the moderate Republicans get to D.C., and cave. Centrist Republicans are the new 'blue dogs', Boehner is a classic example. We are being sold out from within.

He may be very conservative but so was W. Two Bushes enough. As a Texan, we love the Bushes but even my old Ranger pals have no intention of voting for one in a Presidential election again.

Those who urge us to court the hispanic vote remind me of collaborator Parisians who urged their daughters to date German officers; thinking of self interest, not the country. We should concentrate on removing illegals and above all, denying them the privilege of a stolen vote.

We are becoming a conceited nitwit society, pushy and self-aggrandizing. No one is ashamed to brag now. and show off. They think it heightens them. They think it´s good for business. It used to be that if you were big, you´d never tell people how big you were because that would be kind of classless, and small. In fact it would be a proof of smallness.

Never has so much time, money and energy been put into a presidential election with so meager a result. Washington today is a carbon copy of what it was when the campaign began many months ago. Democrats control the White House and Senate, Republicans the House. Republicans were hoping for a change election. They didn't get one. President Obama would have liked a mandate. He didn't get one. What the voters desired is anybody's guess. Their intentions, besides re-electing Barack Obama, were unclear.

The economy plowed ahead at a 2% growth rate in the third quarter, which thrilled more than a few of our liberal friends who think it's enough to re-elect President Obama. We'll soon find out if they're right, but there's no doubt their prosperity standards are slipping. In the third quarter of 1992, growth came in at 4.2% (3.4% for the year) and Democrats called it a catastrophe. The third-quarter figure means that growth for the first nine months of 2012 has been a paltry 1.7%. That's slower than last year (1.8%), which was slower than the year before (2.4%). The current recovery

We all say Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. But it's all still Denver, Denver, and the mystery that maybe isn't a mystery at all. If Cincinnati and Lake County go for Mitt Romney on Nov. 6 it will be because of what happened in Denver on Oct. 3. If Barack Obama barely scrapes through, if there's a bloody and prolonged recount, it too will be because of Denver. Nothing echoes out like that debate. It was the moment that allowed Mr. Romney to break through, that allowed dismay with the incumbent to coalesce, that allowed voters to consider the alternative. What the debate did to the president is

Disturbing developments are sweeping across the greater Middle East. In Syria, tens of thousands of innocent people have been slaughtered. In Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has come to power, and the country's peace treaty with Israel hangs in the balance. In Libya, our ambassador was murdered in a terrorist attack. U.S. embassies throughout the region have been stormed in violent protests. And in Iran, the ayatollahs continue to move full tilt toward nuclear-weapons capability, all the while promising to annihilate Israel.

'Stupid," in the famous quotation from 1992's Clinton vs. Bush campaign—"It's the economy, stupid"—is whoever thinks a U.S. presidential election is about something else. All presidential elections are about the economy. Yes, there are other issues, but it's also true that a whale has pilot fish. Still, most politicians would rather talk about anything but the economy, which they see in one of two ways—as a personal piggy bank or a mystery. Neither is discussable in public. This is the sixth presidential election since "stupid" was first identified, and nothing has changed.

When George Stephanopoulos asked Mitt Romney in a Sept. 14 "Good Morning America" interview what he's learned about President Obama as a debater, the former Massachusetts governor replied, "I think he's going to say a lot of things that aren't accurate." If Mr. Obama's debate performance mirrors his campaign, Mr. Romney's prediction will be dead on. To get a sense of how comprehensive the president's assault on the truth has been, consider some of his false claims in recent speeches and ads. One Obama spot says, "To pay for huge, new tax breaks for millionaires like him,

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaks at the United Nations today, which also happens to be Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. The timing is apt because when it comes to Iran and Israel, the hardest thing for some people to see or hear is what Iranian leaders say in front of the world's nose. "Iran has been around for the last seven, 10 thousand years. They [the Israelis] have been occupying those territories for the last 60 to 70 years, with the support and force of the Westerners. They have no roots there in history," Mr. Ahmadinejad told reporters and editors in New York on Monday. Content added by staff

Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
