| The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Houston saw a sharp decline in participation in the charity's main fundraising event last month, falling 50 percent short of its $3 million goal. Earlier this year, Komen received nationwide criticism after it announced it would stop making grants to Planned Parenthood for breast-cancer screening. It reversed its decision three days later. As a result of the controversy, many Komen supporters around the country abandoned the Race for the Cure. Participation dropped 10 to 30 percent in some cities, including Austin, Dallas

I just read (well skimmed) Planned Bullyhood about the Komen/PP fiasco. I did not realize that Anita Dunn was in on the set-up to begin the War on Women theme.
The Left is using the same bullying tactic to get business to dump ALEC which supports voter id. Their dirty tactics are everywhere, transforming our country into a tyrannical Leftist state.

Komen should never have gotten in bed with PP. Pro life women were quietly boycotting them (if they knew about the association). Then, when Komen dropped PP, pro-lifers made major donations, only to be betrayed shortly thereafter. That was all I knew. I figured the pro choice people were happy because they got their way. But months later, I was with a group of pro choice women who really sounded of against Komen. Sounded to me like they never planned to forgive Komen's momentary betrayal of the Holy Grail of abortion. All of these pro choicers had dropped Komen. So Komen, which really does help cancer patients, got mugged. All the grants to PP for non-existent mammograms will never get them back in the good graces of the pro-abortion forces.

Mrs. texaspast (actually, an okiepast), a breast cancer survivor, who actually went to the Komen center in Dallas for her treatments, will never again support them. Actually, she is sick to death of the 'pink' campaign. She dispises the NFL pink carp on the uniforms, shoes, pads, etc. - says (and I quote) it is emblematic of the pussification of the American male.

I too am a breast cancer survivor (God willing) and refuse to give a penny to the baby killer accomplices.
We need some strong person to make it absolutely clear that Planned Death commits baby murder and NOT mammograms.

It seems very odd that President Obama has made gun control the signature issue of his second term, so far. He can’t possibly achieve any significant legislation; a few tweaks to the background check system, maybe, but there is no chance of getting any meaningful gun control through the House. The House Democrats aren’t even trying. So it also seems strange that all eyes are on the Senate, where Harry Reid will unveil some sort of gun legislation–no one knows what, exactly–on Thursday. The party’s left-wing base is lining up behind the bill, sight unseen.

In a poll conducted by PoliceOne, a majority of law enforcement personnel said universal background checks, "assault weapons" bans, and "high capacity" magazine bans do not make police safer and will not lower violent crime. Armed citizens, on the other hand, do make a positive difference. In the poll of 15,000 law enforcement professionals, 71% of respondents said an "assault weapons" ban would have zero impact on violent crime. Of those surveyed, 95.7% said the same of a "high capacity" magazine ban, and 79.7% said the same in response to a question on universal background checks.
