The End of an Empire
Canada Free Press, by Dr. Ileana Johnson Paugh

Original Article

Posted By:MtGardenerview, 11/8/2012 8:10:11 PM

Our Constitutional Republic died a peaceful death on November 6, 2012. Having reached the point of no return in a comatose state after years of progressive and illegal immigration assaults, the fabric of conservative society is now completely unraveled and Uncle Sam’s America is no more. The United States of America is now relegated to the dust bin of history as a “has been” empire. The Shining City on the Hill, the hope of so many millions since July 4, 1776, no longer exists.

Comments:
It truly is a sad day for the World and America

Dr.Paugh speaks from experience. Beautifully written and sadly true. Do we have no recourse?

With all due respect, Dr. Paugh, go pound sand.

Real Americans don't give up. We may get beaten down, may lose, and may suffer reverses, but we don't give up.

At one time Americans were enthralled by a gap-toothed peanut farmer from Georgia. We survived that... with a nuclear armed opponent called the USSR, double-digit inflation and double-digit interest rates.

It was rough, we took some losses, but we made it through.

The next four years are going to be tough, no doubt about it. But I'm not ready to give up, and I bet most L-dotters aren't ready either,

I have a tear in my eye for our great country. So sad to see us go down so far so fast.
When over half the population is on food stamps dems can't lose. The sad part is nothing is free, the makers will pay while the takers play.

LOL!

In 1775, The British thought that the colonies were right under their thumb just like the Progressives do today.

Four years from now, their lies and character assassinations will be fully vetted and they are history!
Fiscal policy will be in shambles. America’s stature in the world will be pathetic. And the “blame Bush” mantra will have fallen away.

Over-reaching will be their demise. All we have to do is let them hang themselves!

“Here, buddy, have some more rope”!

Good grief! How did Conservatives deal with the New Deal? How fatalistic were they? We can't be more depressed than they were, can we? Rather than waxing poetic and tearful and wiping the mist from the sitting room window, let's downshift, get some traction and return to the fight.

As I once said, the people who constitute America today are not the people who laid the foundations for America or who fought the war (World War I) which brought America its superpower status. Most people today simply want their cell phones and their ipads and their television sets and their internet. If you took these material things away from them, they would revolt. If you burned the Constitution, they'd barely blink.

Reply 9 - Posted by: Tucker, 11/8/2012 8:50:24 PM     (No. 9000964)

Oh, I agree about the New Deal and Jimmy Carter, but things are different today. Back then, even in the Carter time, the so called youth didn't run the country. Have you heard the "youth" speaking. They are scary beings. They think they deserve whatever and should be given it. They know nothing about history of the world let alone this country. And we have a President who "hangs" with these morons. These are his people. Heaven help us.

I've always tried to be optimistic, even during the Carter and Clinton years. But this...I'll be 69 when this incompetent clown leaves office. I've been fighting Communists and Socialists my entire life, and I'm tired. And discouraged.

And today I took down my American flag. Tomorrow, I shall dismantle the 40' flag pole.

This is no longer my country, and the American flag will never again fly on my land, due to what happened on Nov. 6th.

Sixty million of my fellow 'Americans' (including, I'm sure, "The Obamaphone 'Lady') have voted me into slavery for the rest of my life.

Eventually they will when they realize that even if they work extremely hard they will be rewarded the same as they non working neighbors. Not giving up, but we must face the fact that the "easy" measures provided in the Constitution have been exhausted. More dramatic - and risky - action is now required if the Republic is to be restored.

#11, if your love of country is that shallow go ahead and take down your flag and lay down and do nothing, or bend over, or whatever.....

I did my wallowing in despair and self-pity, and I've been through too many purported ends of eras. All of the continued whining by this point in the week is just so much flatulence.

We are all better and stronger than that, and I can't see the point of defeatism. Defeatism and apathy already caused a lot of voters not to bother to vote against Obama, and I don't intend to let that ruin my life.

We will never be able to recover from the 2nd term of Fundamental Transformation. It has been the goal of the Demonrat party to destroy our Constitutional Republic for 50 years. Nov. 6th they gained their goal.

I must agree with #16 and Dr. Paugh. The 60s radicals have finally won. This election was like the jets plowing into the Twin Towers on 9/11. Today, the towers (America) burn even as many refuse to believe in the coming disaster and would-be rescuers race upwards to save people. But alas, the towers (America) cannot stand. The laws of physics have spoken.

2,4 and 5, I think you are missing the point. The problems now involve the character of our population - more than the problems we face. We don't have a people now that in any way, shape or form resembles the "America" that didn't used to give up.

I agree with #11. My US flag will not fly (at least right side up) on my property for at least four years. I may fly a state flag along with my Gadsden flag.
I wasted 20 years of my life thinking I was providing something meaningful to this country, doing my part to keep the communists at bay. Now we find out they came in the back door, and over 50% of the country thinks thats ok.
My youth would have been more productively spent working at McDonalds.
So now we wait.

#2, I admire what you said, but things are way different now than during the Carter years.

We are awash in illegal aliens who will, if not already, vote, and they will vote democrat. We have many more people on the government dole--and they will not give up our bennies. We are totally stuck funding obscene unions and pensions, which have grown enormously since the 70s. Our education system was much stronger even in the mid 1970s. Divorce rates are well over 50% and many many kids have single parent homes. Entertainment and news sources, while always a bit left, are full on leftist and report bald lies as truths. Our sense of morals and ethics are shattered.

We now have permanent encampments of liberal populations in key Electoral states. Major areas such as the east and west coast population centers are liberal to stay, something that was not guessed at when the Electoral College was created. The cards are stacked now, we have seen in in the past two elections.

All we have right now is the House, which we will likely lose, and is in the short term even managed by weaklings.

I don't want to sound like there is no solution, but I would love someone to illustrate one.

I love this country. But I will tell you folks, I am really starting to hate its people.

#15, you are right, but let me ask you something. (I have an answer that I tell me kids, but I would like to hear yours.)

You state a lot of voters did not bother to vote against Obama. Can you blame Republican citizens of, for example, California and New York? Their votes will NEVER matter, because contrary to the intention of the creators of the Electoral College, you will not see those areas EVER change from Blue because of entrenched liberals. Therefore, the Electoral College, from now forward, and the election, is beholden to a handful of "swing states", and we know how well that has worked out.

During the 2nd World War there was a year when everything went against us. In 1942 we were losing in all theaters of the war. This is the same fight, only we are fighting for our country. We need the Republicans to stand up and stand together at least until the midterms where we can overtake the Senate again and make Mr. Obama completely ineffective. We can wallow in self pity, but now is the time to call our Congress and tell him to stand up to Obama. He will blink, trust me!

We have had dark days ahead of us before.

The Revolutionary war was only won in the last year after several very bad years.

The Civil War was so painful and cost so much.

The first 2 years of WWII was one loss after another.

We’ve weathered the first 4 years of Obama the Marxist and we may not weather his second 4 years, but:

If all registered Republicans had voted, we would have won and if the MSM had not covered for Obama, we would have one and if our young adults had been educated in high school, we would have won.

We must start today winning the Senate and holding the House in 2914.

Then we back a straight forward conservative with some charisma and take the WH in 2016.

As Winston Churchill said, “Never, never, never give up”.

We must do this for our kids, our grandkids and our self respect!

Like Churchill said you screw around and you end up fighting anyway just to avoid dying as a slave. I'm not convinced millions of Republicans simply didn't show up to vote against this creep. Since the beltway Republicans could not figure out a way to make the voting process accurate, accountable and secure since Gore in 2000. WE WILL NEVER KNOW what the actual totals were. Nice job on that, wimps. Oh well, events might force people to learn something about the basic concepts that kept America strong till about 12 years ago. Fighting to stay alive gives you focus. If and when the reset comes, I suggest taking a real hard swing at this congress exempts themselves from laws they make insanity. That and the lifetime pensions they voted themselves. It's a long list, but I'm sure others can add to it.

Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth.
