Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told reporters on Wednesday that the American people are not interested in the issues of same-sex marriage and abortion. A reporter asked Reid: “Do you have any plans to change the filibuster rule?” “Yes I do,” said Reid. “I’ve said so publicly and I continue to feel that way.” Reporter: “Can you talk about specifically what you want to do?” “I’m not going to talk specifically but you asked a question, I’m answering it,” said Reid. “Yes, I do. I think that the rules have been abused, and that

As my ne'er-do-well uncle would declare, Harry Reid is a liar and he feet ain't mates! Our generation would say ''He's ugly and his mama dresses him funny.''

Either way, he doesn't have a clue what Americans are interested in since he isn't one.

Even a blind squirel finds a nut once in a while.

Gay marriage is not the end of the world. Sorry, to all of the social conservatives but lets keep the Gov't out of everyone's house.

I will never be pregnant so frankly keep the gov't out of it. If we as a party favor small government and personal responsibility then let people do what they feel is best.

Free will is a gift from our creator. We will all be judged one day.

That didn't stop the Democrats from putting those issues front and center in their campaigns, though, did it?

To hear election coverage on the alphabet channels, you'd think Americans were most concerned about whether or not Sandra Fluke got her sexual activities subsidized.

Harry Reid just like his boss Obama, have yet again given the finger to the Catholic Church, which did a very poor job informing its members before this election.
I hope everyone remembers Reid stating that if Romney was elected, he would not work with him.
I say Republicans reciprocate in kind, Obama was re-elected and Republicans will not work with him. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Talk about an exo-sketch party. This just makes it clear that Harry Reid is going to do what he wants in the Senate. If Obama wants something else he'll have to do it by executive order. There is going to be a lot of misery for the next 6 months. Then there may be even more for the balance of 2013. No one in the Democrat Party is leading.

I want my southern GOP congressional representative to introduce a constitutional amendment which allows for gay marriage, polygamy, polyamory, and insestual marriage. The whole lot, and not severable. All or none.

After all, love is love, right? That's what the pro-gay types are always bleating.

Let's settle it once and for all.

Americans are interested, but they're not interested in hearing the GOP talk about them, especially at the national level. Social issues are not federal issues. Social issues are poison. The GOP has to stop talking about them, or die. You cannot force people to think or act morally. The GOP has become irrelevant for two big reasons: militarism and refusal to stop mixing social issues and politics.

Correction #12: The GOP 'has become irrelevant' because they allow the in your face voter fraud by the libtards to continue without executing those committing it, nor do they take steps to make it even tougher and more expensive to individuals to attempt it the next time. Did I also mention the idiots who have open primaries? Politics is a hardball game for adults only and the GOP has too many idiot children instead of adults with spines.

#12 – The GOP did not talk about social issues in this campaign. The GOP focused entirely on economic issues in a lousy economy, and lost.
The Democrats talked about social issues at great length. They did this to put the GOP in a defensive position, and forced them to discuss utterly irrelevant personal charges on fringe issues. Whether you like it or not, social issues will be discussed – Democrats view this as winning territory because they are allowed to control the narrative. GOP candidates should state unequivocally what their stance is and refuse to get drawn into discussions about rape and incest.

It is Democrats who use the power of the federal government to impose their view of morality on the nation, not conservatives. The single driving force of liberalism is to command control over your life. -0-bamacare alone is the biggest intrusion into your home and private life in US history. Conservatives don’t want to come into your home. Conservatives don’t want to tell you what to do in your home. Conservatives don’t want to have to hear about what goes on in your home, or be forced to approve of it or pay for it. Got it?

The GOP needs to fight as hard as the Dems do, they have to get down in the dirt like they do.

Most people do not want the gov't in their bedroom. I have the right to privacy. I have the right to make decisions that impact me. Its my decision.

If the GOP was smart they just announce that Roe vs Wade is settled law. If you don't like abortion dont have one.

For those that are criticizing the Hispanics that are pushing for the dream act, they are pushing for access to college not a welfare card. Seriously, take off your blinders and look at the people that work around you,

Americans aren't Harry but liberals controlled by democrats live by it.
So in the name of perhaps curtailing infant murder --abortion-- perhaps we should form a federal charity that provides free contraceptives and every American who donates to the fund should be able to take a full tax write off.
Every participant would only have to sign up and note she is a female without morals who lives by her unlady parts.
Best yet since men are more more than willing to help out a birth control pill should be designed for them.
The rewards will be great because within a few years their genes and DNA will be
wiped out of the human genomes.

I know this thread is long dead, but this is pathetic.

Most people do not want the gov't in their bedroom.
False charge against the GOP. It is not the gov’t going in to people’s bedrooms that is the problem, nor is that what conservatives are doing. The problem is people bringing what goes on in their bedroom out onto the street. Conservatives don’t care what you do in your bedroom. We don’t want to hear about it, be forced to approve of it, or un-define institutions that are as old as human civilization because of it.

If you don't like abortion dont have one.
Not the issue, nor is Roe v. Wade. The issue is forcing people to pay for abortions through gov’t coercion. The issue is forcing religious institutions to pay for abortion and contraception against their convictions. Not conservatives doing that.

”…they are pushing for access to college not a welfare card.”
So far off base it is surreal. Why would we pay for illegal immigrants to go to college? The DREAM act is a vote purchase. Public funding for college education of US citizens is already a huge chunk of what is bankrupting the nation – why would you exacerbate the problem by paying for those here illegally? See California for how this works in practice.

If I live to be 105 I will never understand how conservatives are the ones saddled with the “intrusion into people’s homes” meme – while Democrats freely regulate everything from how much water your toilet can flush to undermining parental authority through public schools to how much soda you can drink. Boggles the mind.

Her first point was that the pipeline “will bring 830,000 barrels of dirty tar sands oil into our nation every day.” She then segued to point #2 by asserting that the heavy tar sands oil will put people who live near refineries at risk for cancer: Significantly higher levels of dangerous air pollutants and carcinogens have been documented downwind from tar sands refineries, and in these areas people are suffering higher rates of the types of cancers linked to these toxic chemicals, including leukemia and

President Obama stood Friday with the Rev. Al Sharpton and accused Republicans of trying to keep millions of Americans from voting, in a fiery speech days after new revelations about Sharpton’s past as an FBI informant. “The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly five decades ago,” Obama told the annual convention of Sharpton’s National Action Network in Manhattan. Obama’s appearance represented a presidential seal of approval of Sharpton’s role as a civil rights activist, amid the new revelations about how Sharpton used a wire to record

As President Obama spoke of old "wounds” at Fort Hood this week, the White House declined a request from a survivor of the 2009 massacre there to meet with Obama for a few minutes so the veteran could explain face-to-face how he believes the government has mistreated and disrespected the victims of that attack. Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford (ret.) was shot seven times in November 2009 when Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 people. Despite Hasan’s admission that he carried out the attack on behalf of the Taliban and revelations that he had been

STAMFORD, Conn. — Jeb Bush defended his controversial comments about immigration reform, insisting they were nothing new for him and urging “sensitivity to the immigrant experience.” At a Connecticut Republican party dinner Thursday night, the former Republican governor of Florida did not repeat his remarks from last weekend at his father’s presidential library, when he said that people who come to the United States illegally in search of a better life for their children “broke the law, but it’s not a felony. It’s an act of love.” This time the potential 2016 candidate put it differently. “To be young and

Coming clearly through the throbbing of helicopters and the roar of the SUVS of the feds harassing the Cliven Bundy Ranch, patriots there for Bundy should “tell it to the judge”. There is mainstream media-suppressed case history in Nevada the feds are desperately trying to keep under wraps. Chief Judge Robert C. Jones of the Federal District Court of Nevada smacked down high-handed, abusive feds, sending the pretend cowboys riding roughshod over Western ranchers and property owners back to their cobweb-laced offices in 2013. In spite of their 200 armed snipers with boy toys in tow, those Stetson-wearing feds hunkering down on Cliven

President Obama labeled complaints about voter fraud “bogus” and accused Republicans of cynically trying to prevent Americans from accessing the polls in a fiery speech Friday at a civil rights forum hosted by Al Sharpton. Obama argued that attempts in some states to impose new voter identification restrictions were actually efforts by Republicans to make “it harder, not easier to vote.” And the president said that while voter fraud should be prevented, it rarely occurred. “So let´s be clear, the real voter fraud is the people who try to deny our rights by making bogus arguments about voter fraud,” Obama said. The last rancher in southern Nevada has won his battle to graze cows on public land after a week-long stand off with federal agents. The Bureau of Land Management today said it would stop trying to seize the cattle of Cliven Bundy after armed militia members today continuing to gather in Nevada in a confrontation with federal agents. BLM Director Neil Kornze said: ´Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of
