A thank you note from
an average American

Daily Caller, by Jack Finn

Original Article

Posted By:Hooverdog, 11/8/2012 4:13:17 PM

Thank you, America. Thank you for re-electing Barack Obama. Thank you for solidifying Obamacare. Thank you for ensuring that my health insurance rates will rise to the point where my employer drops my coverage. Thank you for future higher prescription drug prices, for lower quality care, for long lines to see my doctor, and for allowing a board of 15 people to determine my fate. Thank you, America. Thank you, America, for making sure our media will be taking a coffee break for the next four years instead of holding our elected officials accountable (unless they’re Republicans, of course).

Breitbart is running the following headline, with text and charming video:

Obama Supporters Celebrate: No More Israel! Kill Those Motherf***ers

But it's not as if we're surprised.

Thank you, Jack Finn, for putting here the majority of what's been rattling around my thoughts since Tuesday night.

And thank you, America, for finally settling the age-old children's riddle: If a TelePrompTer got in a fight with an Etch-a-Sketch, who would win?

I agree #3. I cringe when I think of the wonderous America I grew up with. My decades go back to the 40's. I can only tell my children and randchildren what a wonderful country this used to be, It is still good, but it won't be great again until we rid ourselves of all those who occupy our White House, Senate and House of Representatives. If only the Supreme Court could be tossed out too. I feel as though we need to sink to the bottom ( we are almost there now) before we can rise up and be a great nation once again. Like I said we are good but not great anymore. I am in deep sorrow for ourselves and our children.

#3, from your post I know he already has a head start on a lot of boys his age. You are right though. America was never a guarantee, just a ticket to take a shot. Somehow the natural competitive nature of being an American was melted away. One of the consequences of screaming 'feminists' who insisted on equality instead of fairness. Now equality is, find the lowest performing denominator and make everyone work to that. Equality of the failed.

Having insane Russians with their finger on the nuke button was traumatic, but like a breath of fresh air in today's world of mud. BTW, if someone thinks I'm unfair to put WMDs all on the Russians, they need to research the Russian sub commander who wanted to fire a nuke torpedo during the Cuban crisis or the Russian generals ready to launch ICBMs over a flight of geese.

Find a 40 year old or younger.

Explain what they voted for.

Tell them when they are age 80, there will have “built” an America that will no longer take care of them. And tell them, “Yes, you WILL build that”!

Tell them that they are voting for barbarians who have turned parents and children against each other to stay in power. These pathetic excuses for public servants will have retired with 1 million dollar pensions that we all are paying for as well as specially designed health care plans that we will never have access to!

Tell them they are destroying their own future and do not even know it.

Tell them that they will not have an inheritance because Congress will seize their parent’s assets in taxes and fees.

Tell them that Washington is supposed to work for them but now that has changed. We are all slaves on the "Big Government Plantation" working FOR THEM!

But remind them that for all of that, they have their stuff from Obama:

Phones that other people pay for
Healthcare that other people pay for
Condoms that other people pay for
Birth control pills that other people pay for

What a bargain! (or is it?)

I'm around college aged fools on a daily basis and you'd me amazed to learn just how many of these young adults believe obamacare is free healthcare.

I tried to explain reality to them but they insist I'm wrong and obamacare will work just like Medicaid, all the basics will be free. I'm not kidding, they think that obamacare obamacare = free healthcare, no premiums, no co-pays, no co-insurance.

The USA was intended to be a loose federation of independent states. That doesn't work so well for power hungry socialists who want to redistribute wealth so our federal government has grown to behemoth size and eliminated the firewalls between states. Why should someone in a ward in Philadelphia be able to exact so much revenge on me (in Texas)?

The only solution to this problem long term is to get back to where we have separation btween the states. Question is: How do we get there?

I think I know the answer, but its not pretty.

We are set up by evil forces at work using the media and many American's selfish indulgance for the biggest collapse of an empire known to mankind. The great experiment in freedom and hope for mankind has been successfully dismantled...(from within) but for a reason in God's overall planning. Don't think that the enemies of the west don't see what destruction and chaos Sandy caused and won't exploit that with a couple of well placed suitcase nukes to bring us to our knees, Then they will march against Jerusalem without any aid from Israel's once powerful friend.

You are in the minority but hang in there, Brother!

I am 62 and have already had this conversation with my three daughters (38) (36) and (29). They are in shock right now for what they unknowingly did and by the time the next Presidential Election comes, their eyes will be opened.

I am closing my 28 year old business before the end of the year and laying off two of my employees. I am selling my business before long term capital gain rates go up. My daughters were celebrating today as their father was having to close his business. They can’t believe what has happened to their father.

The Progressives have turned parents and their children against each other and what little inheritance I wanted to leave to them will be confiscated by Washington in the name of "fairness”.

Maybe my children will think twice before they vote to re-distribute their parent’s wealth with Washington.

My sacrifice and financial slaughter may awaken their self-interest in four years.
I am praying and believe it will!

I call on my fellow Eagles to soar high aloft and live for Freedom!

#27 simply demonstrates how many highly-educated people seem to lack real-world understanding, especially when it comes to the inverse relationship between government subsidies and spheres of liberty. Even geniuses can get distracted by idyllic thoughts (e.g. an end to human suffering) to fall for things that sound great but don't work.

You'll find a lot of Marxist graffiti on basement walls at MIT, too. Just because they're "smart" doesn't make them right. I lost count of the times I saw Eat The Rich down there.

The 300,000-member union that was the first to endorse then-Senator Barack Obama has released a devastating Obamacare report that says Obama´s controversial healthcare program will slash worker wages by up to $5 an hour, reduce worker hours, and exacerbate income inequality. The report by Unite Here--a North American labor union that represents workers in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, and airport industries--is titled: "The Irony of ObamaCare: Making Inequality Worse." "Ironically, the Administration´s own signature healthcare victory poses one of the most immediate challenges to redressing inequality," states the 12-page report. "We take seriously the promise

Senator Marco Rubio began this year amid buzz that he was the logical choice to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2016. He is likely to finish it on a decidedly lower note, partly removed from the national spotlight, eclipsed by the rising star from Texas, Ted Cruz. Last week, attendees at the conservative Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., overwhelmingly chose Cruz as their preferred GOP candidate for 2016. The freshman senator blew away the competition with 42 percent of the vote. Rubio, meanwhile, placed fifth, behind Senator Rand Paul, political novice Dr. Ben Carson, and unsuccessful 2012 candidate

HOUSTON — Morgan Weber grew up eating poppy-seed kolaches baked by his Czech grandmother, who honed her technique on a wood stove. Kolaches, soft pastries of yeasted dough with a divot in the center, traditionally filled with sweetened cheese or fruit, are a humble link to the Old World. But in the Revival Market in this city’s Heights neighborhood, Mr. Weber and his business partner, Ryan Pera, the market’s chef, serve sweet and savory pastries that are decidedly American: kolaches laden with satsuma oranges or filled with strawberries and ricotta cheese, and savory versions girded with house-made sausages poached in

On the eve of the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Barack Obama made the strongest possible case for the use of force against Bashar Assad’s Syrian regime. But it wasn’t a very strong case. Indeed, it was built on a false premise: “We can stop children from being gassed to death,” he said, after he summoned grisly images of kids writhing and foaming at the mouth and then dying on hospital floors. Does he really think we can do that with a limited military strike—or the rather tenuous course of diplomacy now being pursued? We might not be

Whitlock, an African-American, certainly doesn’t believe that rap and N-word use were the only things to blame. “Although I believe the jury reached the only logical conclusion based on the trial, I’m highly disappointed Zimmerman was not held criminally responsible for following Martin, ignoring police instructions and shooting a 17-year-old kid after losing a fight his pursuit instigated,” he wrote.

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is

The Rev. Fred Phelps Sr., founder of the hate-fueled Westboro Baptist Church, is at “the edge of death,” his son reports. Nathan Phelps, who fled the infamous Kansas church more than 30 years ago, claims his notorious father was kicked out of the congregation he built and is now spending his final days in hospice care. “I´ve learned that my father, Fred Phelps, Sr., pastor of the "God Hates (deleted to clear site filter)" Westboro Baptist Church, was ex-communicated from the ‘church’ back in August of 2013,” Nathan Phelps wrote on Facebook. “He is now on the edge of death at

As the search for the missing flight MH370 enters its 10th day with few clues as to its whereabouts, the New Straits Times said today the Boeing 777-200ER dropped 5,000 feet (1,500m) to evade commercial radar detection. In an exclusive story, the government-backed paper said investigators analysing MH370’s flight data revealed that the 200-tonne, fully laden twinjet descended 1,500m or even lower to evade commercial (secondary) radar coverage after it turned back from its flight path en route to Beijing. BOSTON- Boston´s Irish-American mayor will not march in the city´s St. Patrick´s Day parade on Sunday after failing to hammer out a deal with organizers to allow a group of gay and lesbian activists to march openly. In the wake of the NSA surveillance scandal, some might not be inclined to defend federal involvement in anything related to the flow of information between individuals. But the decision announced Friday by the Commerce Department to give up next year its oversight of Icann, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, to the "global Internet community" is a bad idea.
