Waiting for 2016: Elizabeth Warren,
Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, Chris
Christie, Jeb Bush and David Petraeus

The Hill (DC), by Bernie Quigley

"To win, President Obama and Mitt Romney each seemed willing to say almost anything," said Robert Samuelson in The Washington Post on Nov. 5, Guy Fawkes Day. This is a good day for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who so hoped for an Obama win that he embarrassed himself during the tragic storm in New Jersey by virtually endorsing the president. And it would then be a good day for Jeb Bush, who sees himself as Christie's No. 2 in 2016. A Romney victory would have prevented that future for the Bush Dynasty. Clinton’s wistful and unlikely dynasty,

Comments:
It's kind of fun to think about running against Elizabeth Warren on the Dem presidential ticket in 2016.

Seems to me Warren should be under indictment for a felony of representing clients when she was not legally to do so.
Krauthamer has already been pushing Jeb for 2016 along with Rubio. No to Rick Perry. He's not capable. Virtually has NO power in Texas. The Legislature has the power and all he does is to sign/veto bills, but usually goes with the legislature.

Elizabeth Warren, really? well at this point the American voter would probably elect a dead cat as president as long as it promised them free stuff so nothing surprises me anymore.

Warren, if the Dems candidate in 2016, will win. First Indian President of The United States.

Palin won't run.

Perry can't talk, when on the national stage.

Christy is a Dem who cries in appreciation when talking to union supporting multimillionaire pop artists, so won't appeal to Republicans.

Bush is a liberal Dem in Republican clothing.

Petraeus works for Obama. What would he run as? And how would that appeal to Republican voters?

This infernal quest for the next best thing in politics is about as stupid as looking for the Cracker Jack prize in a jar of peanut butter.

I'm all for keeping Perry in Texas, since he is my governor, but not for the conventional wisdom that wrongly posits that he has no power, thus no executive experience. That talking point is as tiresome as it is wrong. A slightly weaker constitutional authority in the context of a large, populous, powerful state trumps a strongman type from a weak state.

Let's dispose of his blather. Christie--will be gone into a Nobama cabinet. Warren--please. Perry--blithering idiot, thank God he's in TX without real power. Jeb Bush--another pro-illegal immigrant amnesty RINO, so past his prime it's not funny, and he's gained 50 lbs.

David Petraeus at CIA will be thrown under the bus on Benghazi-Gate, along with Hillary Clinton.

But I would like to roll out the carpet for Sarah Palin. I hope after being savaged by both left and right, she hasn't changed her fundamentals.

The Republican Party, and the USA, both died on 11-6-2012. So does it really matter who runs in 2016?

So many choices to run against PIAPS or Cuomo and get stomped by all the newly legal illegal aliens who will get to vote in 2014 and 2016. So who will the Republican sacrificial lamb be???

This country is dead. It will just take a few years for the corpse to rot away.

The only question is which language to learn before our new overlords take over -- Spanish, Arabic or Chinese???

Perry was having back problems and pain medication during the primaries. He shouldn't have run with that set as it didn't serve him well. He is far more of a straight-talker than he appeared to be during the spring debates.

#22, then Perry had no business being in the primary. He increased the ridicule level and diverted time and money. A real lapse of judgment on his part. If he's actually a stronger governor than others have indicated on L.dot, then I retract my prior statement. But as a 2016 candidate, no. Maybe on the Leadership Council which should be outside the main party.

But then again my home state had Christie the Fat RINO for a governor, so I should talk. I'd take Perry.

Didn't read the article, skipped most of the above posts. The last thing I want to think about now is future presidential candidates, of either/any party. The dems have about but a lock on future elections. We'll see even greater growth of unions in government and health care. Imagine the size of the pension deficits we'll be sustaining. As California now is, the USA will soon become. Then we'll just ramp things up until we become like Greece--and sheer anarchy will reign.

Romney was a good candidate and this was a very good election effort. Various poling companies loudly proclaimed the democrat turnout would be different this season but the after the election results the TV land reality counts seemed wrong. The real problem was not the voters, counters or who was watching the counters. A firm owned by George Soros and operated in Spain took care of massaging the numbers. They did not have to follow the pundit’s theories because the rascals made up an alternate pro-Obama reality.
The counters inserted facetious gross number and manipulated the results. (GIGO –Garbage in, Garbage out) No wonder the Dems weren’t worried. The results were preordained.

The company is called SCYTL. Look it up on Google. It is owned by George Soros and does many number counting jobs for the USA and the separate states.

Of course some people will deny fraud (with the flimsiest of excuses) but they denied the 1919 World Series, Fast and Furious and are currently trying to tell us that what we all know about Benghazi is the haze of war. “Walk on by folks, nothing to see here”

There was a haze of war with the elections and unless we adamantly protest it now, today, this election cycle, there will be no prospect for fair future elections. The count and recounts will always be phony but look perfect. (Just like Russia and Venezuela).

SCYTL, member the name.

The problem is. Who will investigate? Not the in the tank investigative reporters, the broadcast media, the NYT, the Department of Justice or the Attorney general?
We have lost our voting voice and power; we are now subjects of the regimen.

#33, I'm all in. Neocommunists have been working on and refining how to control Presidential elections since 1960. Their job is done. We will never see an honest election in our lifetime. Who is going to reform it? Bush had 8 years and the huge setup of the Gore experience. Didn't count many military votes then and ever since. Now they are so proficient with the manipulation that they can depress or disappear millions of votes and every commentator goes to explanations of the low turnout that suggest no evangelicals, etc.

Meek, career politicians don't engage congress in a righteous fury about denying active military the vote and they even dare to do it themselves as a representative did when she voted TWICE. Combine that with unrestricted immigration that is so far gone that ILLEGAL aliens present cases to US courts. Thank you churches who 'sponsor' these criminals, thank you corrupt employers, and sanctuary mayors and democrat run cities. We lost America bit by bit since the networks elected JFK.

Not only a TERRIBLE line up...but even my Dem list that I posted on the other thread looks more appealing!!!
But seriously, I do NOT want a bunch of the same old professional politicians who are all Washington insiders. They do NOT represent the people or our interests. I don't care if they are moderate, conservative or have an IQ at the level of Einstein or Honey BooBoo. I do NOT want any more insiders who are just in it for wealth and power and who have been playing corrupt games for years. I want a CLEAN person (I am not even concerned about how far right their ideology is anymore) who is HONEST, wants to get rid of corruption and believes in representing the interests of the people--not himself! But that is why Romney was defeated (with the help of both parties)...he wasn't an insider. He is not easily corruptable. He has integrity. He doesn't need more money or power.

I feel sick...

Denver-based CNN journalist Jim Spellman says the total lack of media coverage of the legal travails faced by Fox News reporter Jana Winter for protecting her sources clearly demonstrates an anti-Fox News bias in the press. Spellman claimed in a tweet that if Winter, who faces a subpoena and potential contempt of court charges for protecting her sources, worked for the New York Times instead of Fox News, the case would be garnering far greater exposure. “Observation: If @janawinter, who may go to jail to protect sources, worked for @nytimes instead of @FoxNews the case would be huge,” Spellman tweeted Sunday night.

In the U.K., private ownership of firearms is virtually banned. Professional criminals can still get guns, of course, but for your typical thug, knives are the weapon of choice. Thus there has been a steady outpouring of concern over burgeoning “knife crime” in recent years. The Sun undertook a bit of investigative journalism to find out how easy it is to obtain knives illegally, and was shocked at the result: LETHAL swords, machetes and knives are being sold illegally to children — with no questions asked. Obama will release his budget this week, and we already know that he´s going to try to stake out a treacherous "middleground" as he attempts to cast himself as a bold centrist, willing to stand apart from leftist Democrats. He´ll do so by, reportedly, introducing a Chained CPI, which is a way of cutting Social Security by using a different inflation measure that won´t rise as much. Liberals are already livid. Congressman Jerry Nadler — who is part of the Democratic party´s Progressive Caucus — slammed the reports in a comment made on Friday: I am quite concerned by reports

While politicians talk about expanding background checks for gun owners, I’m starting to think that what we really need are IQ tests for political officeholders. The only problem is, that might leave us with a lot of vacancies in Congress and America’s statehouses. The debacle over New York’s rushed-through gun bill is one example of what happens when enthusiasm meets stupid. But another is to be found in Rep. Last week, DeGette justified her position this way: “I will tell you these are ammunition,

Secretary of State John Kerry is worth some $200 million, give or take a yacht. So his decision to slap a 5% pay cut on himself in solidarity with government employees squeezed by sequestration won’t likely hurt him much. But he’s saving taxpayers another way, too — if unintentionally. And it’s downright troubling. How else is Kerry saving money? He’s failing to hire folks to fill key spots at his agency. Terrific. Think about it: With the North Koreans threatening nuclear strikes against America — and Kerry himself preparing to visit South Korea this week — wouldn’t it be a tad helpful

It would take superspin powers to portray the March jobs report as anything other than a huge step in the wrong direction. The US economy added just 88,000 jobs last month, 95,000 in the private sector as public payrolls fell by 7,000. The official unemployment rate ticked down a tenth of a point to 7.6%. 1. That is a paltry number of jobs, more or less matching assumed labor force growth per month. So the economy must add at least that many jobs just to keep the labor market at current depressed levels.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
