The First Lady has come a
long way, and she hasn’t
finished yet

Telegraph [UK], by Ellen Miller

Original Article

She is hugely popular – even more popular with the American public than her husband is, according to some polls. She’s widely admired and she’s seen as a strong character. But what do the next four years hold for Michelle Obama, now her husband has been elected for a second term? To answer the question, you have first to look at where she has come from, what she’s achieved so far, and the forces that have shaped her. Her parents were black, inner-city, lower-middle-class Americans. Her mother stayed at home to raise Michelle and her brother.

Having to hear about MO's prospects is the epitomy of rubbing salt in the wound. She's going to take her great let's move idiocy to cities, states and counties. It's all a lead up to the left taking over the food industry on a national basis. Her father worked for the city that at that time paid its garbage men more than teachers. They lived in a Chicago bungalow which wasn't cheap. Everyone's mother was a stay-at-home mom in the 60s. They were at worst solidly middle-class. She did not start where Marco Rubio or Clarence Thomas started from. She went to the best schools. She's always lived an entitlement lifestyle, and now thinks she's entitled to tell us how to live.

There is enough misinformation in this puff piece to keep us busy for a week. They conveniently leave out the part where her father's patronage job came from his being a ward heeler, the lowest rank on the political totem.

The stories about her mother include one that she did in fact work - the the Spiegel catalogue company.

And those who knew the family said they were middle class. Not lower middle class. Mooch went to a pretty spiffy magnet school in Chicago.

No, the rags to riches story of personal ascent just doesn't hold up here. And we know that most of her "wild popularity" is in her own community. They "love, love, love" her.

She has worn out her welcome. I plan to ignore her.

A coral reef in Northern Australia severely damaged by warming seas has managed to completely heal itself in just 12 years, stunned researchers have found. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.

The North’s Uriminzokkiri Twitter and Flickr accounts stopped sending out content typical of that posted by the regime in Pyongyang, such as photos of North’s leader Kim Jong Un meeting with military officials. As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader
