| Barack Obama’s re-election victory received a chilly welcome on Wall Street, as the economic realities of the credit crisis remain unchanged regardless of whether America has a Democrat or Republican President. While the giant American fund manager Fidelity correctly predicted in August that rising stock markets suggested Obama would win, as reported in this space at the time, other experts have argued about whether history shows share prices rise more under Republicans or Democrats. City regulators insist that the past is not a guide to the future. Even accurate information about the present may prove little help with forecasts.

Investors are going to look at safer venues for their money other than the stock market. You could see a huge roll of profit taking.
The money could just go to emerging markets that are friendly to capitalism.It's not going to stay here with Obamacare looming.

The morons that re-elected Obama know nothing about the stock market and don't care. They have no savings or investments. They only have the government to take care of them. Why would anyone be surprised? The stock market is priced in dollars, and each day as 0bama prints more and more dollars, the value of the dollars (and the market) go down exponentially. People are smart and putting their money in tangible assets. The morons #4 talks about are correct; they have no money, no savings, they do not care about the stock market; their only interest is what 0bama is going to give them. A huge tax increase is coming, more and more dollars are being printed, and you better hold on, because it is not going to be pretty. The market is going down.

We have reached the point where a country of "Makers" has become a country of "Takers" as a majority. Wall street has been running on a "sugar high" of near zero interest rates thanks to the FED. Part of the reason stocks have held up so well is that it is hard to get a decent rate of return in fixed income investments, so money has continued to flow into equities and real estate. Wall Street is now evaluating where to place investments with the cost of supporting the "Takers" rising and a myriad of taxes soon to come.
The looming fiscal cliff has to be a factor.

My prediction is that Obama will run America like a banana republic and is, in fact, on the way to becoming an American Robert Mugabe. He is already giving to his cronies. It won't be long before he starts confiscating personal property all in the name of social justice, like Mugabe, when he has trashed the economy and his useful idiot supporters start to starve. Time to cash your stocks, stock up on gold. The barter system is just around the corner.
