Obama has achieved many goals
Telegram & Gazette [Worcester, MA], by Clive McFarlane

Original Article

It is hard to gain perspective in the heat of an election battle, particularly when the power of persuasion is driven not by the clarity of an ideological vision, but by the billions in political advertising dollars. Perhaps that is why throughout this bitter and torturous presidential campaign, which began the moment President Barack Obama was elected in 2008, the battle has primarily been fought on economic grounds — one side arguing that the economy which tanked in 2008 was getting better, the other saying it was not, and both sides saying the government needs to reduce spending.

Comments:
More garbage from Clueless Clive, who notes the terrific beating the middle class has taken over the past decade, then cites Obama's "legislative victories" (complete with imbedded lies), none of which have done anything to relieve middle-class distress. Somebody not suffering "unemployment of the soul" - whatever that means - but who is out of work is still unemployed, hungry, and desperate.

The greatest goal he has achieved is his healthcare monstrosity. He shot his load and has nothing left.

He is a 4-year lame duck. 48 more months of listening to this knucklehead back-peddle his way out of every mess he creates. Time to feed off of this, get off our collective arses, rearm, retrain, re-plan, and reemerge victorious.
The alternative is the death of the United States.

I will fight along side you.

My take? Obama has achieved convincing this country that a wealthy, successful white man is evil and a black, corrupt, incompetent man is perfect for the whitehouse and to lead this country. And that is quite an achievement.

Willful and perverse destruction of our prosperity and a deliberate weakening of America's capabilities to defend itself. Yes, those two goals seem to be well on their way.

Hope that for Obama he is marching in his "father's footsteps" for then his doom is certain. All you have to do is protect yourself from more of the damages and destruction he will bring into your world.

Step aside and let this fool destroy himself.

I cannot remember exactly when Nelson Mandela entered my consciousness, but I remember the giddiness I felt when they were forced to turn him loose after 27 years of captivity. I remember, after his release, how the stories and the songs that before had passively comforted me exploded with a kinetic energy that shattered the skepticism I had about my place in the world. To me, he was David slaying Goliath with a sling and stone. He was Bob Marley´s "Duppy Conqueror." "… the bars could not hold me... force could not control me..." Today, however, I am afraid that we tend to view the lives of individuals like Mandela,

Our bankrupt politics is on strident display in the manufactured crisis engulfing Obamacare. In every newspaper and on every news channel, Republicans can be found salivating over the success of their sabotage campaign, while fair-weather Democrats, fearful of upcoming elections, are backsliding on their commitment to adequate and affordable health care. And what exactly is feeding the frenzy on both sides? We are being told that it is the botched rollout of a government website where individuals can shop and sign up for health insurance. We are being told also that it is President Obama´s broken promise, the one he

President Barack Obama is doubling down on his Obamacare lies. He is now trying to erase retroactively his point-blank assurance to the American people that “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.” Drawing on his golfing experience, he is insisting on a mulligan as millions of Americans are losing the health insurance policies they have chosen because of Obamacare mandates. “What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors this past Monday during a speech they

Big Brother is not only watching you. He is eavesdropping on you, stealing your metadata, snooping in your email and telling you what to eat and which illnesses you can treat if you’re lucky enough to see a doctor once Obamacare is implemented. In Obama’s 1984, Mark Tapson shows that if he were here today George Orwell would see a disturbing resemblance between the U.S. and the dystopian future he wrote about so prophetically a generation ago. Obama’s 1984 takes the reader into the dark heart of this administration, a place of omnipresent NSA surveillance, police state tactics by the

I grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, and my elementary and high-school education was infused with the history that was all around us, so I was very curious to know just how the shutdown of the nation´s parks had affected my most favorite part of Minute Man National Park -- the Old North Bridge. Had the Park Service wrapped the iconic Minute Man sculpture by Daniel Chester French in burlap, so the tourists couldn´t see it? I took a few minutes on a perfectly gorgeous Columbus Day to find out. (snip for picture) As I expected, the parking lots had been

Last night (October 9), my wife brought home a pamphlet from our local CVS pharmacy, titled "Affordable Care Act Answers." I didn´t expect to find anything in this simple booklet that I didn´t already know, but it did refer me to their website on the topic, CVS.com/insurance, which my wife asked me to check out. On the website is this Q&A entry: Do I need to have insurance? Yes. The ACA requires all Americans have health care coverage "that meets basic minimum standards." I said to my wife, "That´s flat-out false," and I sent a brief, indignant note to CVS

There have been trying times when men of foresight, faith and conviction have helped us to transcend the frailty of our human condition and to soar mightily as if we were gods. This moment in time would seem tailor-made for the appearance of such a person. The civil war in Syria, in which that country´s brutal leader, Bashar al-Assad, is beset by opponents who are just as brutal, cries out for someone to show us with clarity, charity and certainty what should be done for the good of country and the world.

The economy is still puttering along, which is to say it is still not strong enough to help a lot of average Americans. (Snip) The bottom line approach is not easily embraced by many Americans. There are those of us who continue to labor under the belief that work is a means of self-expression and that a job should contribute to the wholesome growth and sustainability of family and community. I believe the majority of Americans still hold to this view, but what would happen if our society as a whole resorted to the corporate model of life, that is, pursuing it through the bottom line?

I don´t normally display lawn signs or bumper stickers during political campaigns; I usually keep my voting preferences to myself. (That´s the point of secret ballots, right?) But the November 2012 elections got me charged up to the point where I felt the urge to do something public, and since my friends already knew how I felt, I didn´t think I would be divulging any secrets by doing so.

It´s no surprise that Barack Obama´s authoritarian streak is revealing itself at last. It was always there; clearly apparent in his rhetoric (e.g., his envy of Chinese president Xi Jin-ping´s powers), his abuse of executive orders, his threats against Congress, his sultan with fly-whisk attitudes toward his opposition, and even his vacations, which reek more of third-world trash gamboling on the Riviera than any American leader (George W. Bush settled his mind by clearing brush in Texas, Reagan at his ranch in Santa Barbara. Obama unfortunately finds the brush already cleared in Martha´s Vineyard and Hawaii.)

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere. Last year, scientists on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the pace of

From its inception, the strategy behind the Obama administration’s implementation of ObamaCare has been simple: to frontload the benefits and postpone the pain and costs of this massive government intrusion into the private sector for as long as possible. This deceitful approach enabled President Obama run for reelection in 2012 on the spurious promise of extending insurance coverage to the poor and those with pre-existing conditions without being held accountable for the problems with the law that would only become apparent in his second term. Michelle Obama´s lust for luxury has always been a bit of a problem for her husband and Democrats in general.
