| Our newly re-elected, incompetent President is good at one thing: Chicago style politics. Kill your opponent by character assassination and promise freebies to your base. That's exactly how he beat Mitt Romney, a good and decent man, a man of substance, who would have been a great president to turn our economic mess around. Instead the community organizing, empty-suit incumbent won by pandering to the Democratic base and defaming and distorting Romney into an evil caricature.

There is no Republican Party.
There is no conservative coalition.
Given the worst President in history, the "Republicans" stepped aside and granted him a second term. Throughout the country, "Republicans" put forth second-rate candidates, unable to hold their own against the nebbishes run by the Dems.
Elizabeth Warren? Unethical to the core. But she is beloved in MA.
Todd Aiken? Should have been bounced out immediately, but Repubs kept him around so they could lose his seat.
We need a new Republican Party.

This election shines a light on how incredibly stupid and gullible the American electorate is. While I think Obama won by way of vote fraud, it shouldn't have been close enough for that to happen.

I agree with #1. I have been verging on bolting 3rd party for a long time, only holding back because the stupid party was the only realistic alternative to socialism. But now that the stupid party has shown itself to be feckless and unwilling to fight tooth and nail for true conservative values I see no need to linger.

I was a senior in 1974-75 when it dawned on me one day in a political science class that I was in the last year of my mandatory indoctrination, the purpose of which was to turn me into a compliant taxpayer.
We home school our tow boys now. The younger one went to bed crying over the election last night. He is 14. He had every reason to cry.

Agree with most of this, but not with these two points:
1. Claim that Romney should've hit Zero harder on Benghazi-gate.
Oh, how it wish could've worked! But no. Sadly, with the media's complicity in
(a) burying the true story and
(b) attacking Romney for a "gaffe" every time he brought up the subject, this was a no-win situation for Romney.
2. Claim that picking Rubio for VP would've worked. Sorry, I don't buy that either.
I like Rubio, but it was too early to nominate him for national office. I have no doubt the MSM would have "Dan-Quayled" him. Ryan is much more seasoned and qualified. And as far as gaining Hispanic votes goes, I'm not sure that a son of industrious, conservative Cuban immigrants has much cred with Latino voters in, say, CO.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

Over at Salon, Chris Stedman, the Assistant Humanist Chaplain and the Values in Action Coordinator for the Humanist Community at Harvard, has published a vicious piece attacking me for calling attention to the persecution of gays under Islamic law. This comes just days after San Francisco´s Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution condemning my ads standing up for gays. Stedman and the transgender head of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, Theresa Sparks, could form a new organization: Gays for Sharia.

During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." I suspect that was the intention. The president´s image as a manly man took a beating when he missed 20 of 22 basketball shots, all recorded on video.

The CEO of Starbucks basically told a shareholder that if the shareholder believes in traditional marriage he should dump his Starbucks stock. Historically the job of the CEO has been to make money and increase shareholder value. It would seem telling people who don´t share the CEO´s personal beliefs, whether it´s gay marriage or abortion, to dump the companies stock is not a pro-shareholder action. This is another example of the liberal belief that everything belongs to liberals because they´re just so darn much smarter than the rest of us

A political earthquake has resulted from a feature story in the Economist magazine because the Economist used to be a consistent cheerleader for global warming activism. The Great State of Indiana is about to test statewide school choice on a meaningful scale. In the girl section of the Wall Street Journal last weekend Matt Ridley had an article on nice vs. nasty, cooperation vs. competition. Researchers have found, he writes, that families that stay together cooperate better than families that are far apart. This is not the first work to find mathematical evidence that there are conditions under which cooperative behavior drives out selfish behavior... So long as there is little geographic mobility, clusters of networked kin and friends develop, putting an advantage on being nice. Who knew?

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
