"Temperatures in the region are roughly 10 degrees below normal..." That's what global warming does; lowers the temperature. Now, where are all those FEMA trailers they used after Katrina? They had heat and lights, but aren't they classy enough for the people in NY or NJ? Or did FEMA and Obama forget that they exist?

I guess since FEMA's been asleep at the wheel for four years, it takes a bit to get the sleep out of its eyes. Lots of 'whitey' disasters they didn't have to answer the call to so they're not on top of their game right now.

I watched the people on Staten Island TRY to talk to bloomberg about their problems. He put his hand up and told them to talk to the press person. For this insignificant person the people of new york broke their constitution to re-elect him. After one term they should have realized what they had and rejected him. Especially after Guiliana. The comparison is amazing. Maybe the brains and toughness moved out of new york after 9/11?

Yeah # 4, I mentioned yesterday there are piles of these things off the highway going to Oklahoma City. They look nice and neat. New Jersey/New York can have them. It would beat freezing in a home with no electricity.

Hey, big government, these trailers are on I40 - maybe 15 or 20 miles outside Oklahoma City, going east.

#4 I figured those trailers (which were actually RV's a lot nicer than the one I own) were either still in use in NO or had been trashed beyond the point of being habitable.

As bad as I feel for these people, I hope in the end that another batch of blue-staters will see the fallacy of reliance on big government and unionized labor.

My cousin allowed FEMA to place 8 of the FEMA trailers in her mobile home park after Katrina. Two of them were travel-trailer size (30' long, I believe). The other six were nice, large trailers, I think 45-50' x 10. They came with new, attractive appliances. After 18 months, people were allowed to buy the trailer they occupied or were required to move out.

Foxnews has videos of people lined up far as the eye can see with their red gas cans, trying to get five gallons of gas to run their generators. There must be thousands of fuel trucks in the area that normally deliver fuel to the gas stations. Wouldn't it be a simple thing for the great FEMA to have those trucks driving through the neighborhoods, stopping every few blocks to re-fill the gas cans? No vehicle gas tanks, just red jerry cans. No charge! Imagine the difference such a simple thing would make.

Instead they are rationing gas, then complaining about long lines. Let people fill their tanks, they won't go down to the next line trying to get a few more gallons.

Well, so the New York City, the haven for all Bums and housing for everyone can't help those displaced by the storm...shows us how great they really are...Libs, count on them to screw up anything they touch and this is a perfect example!

If the Libs were following their mantra the 'rich' people (Libs) in NYC with huge homes should be made to house the displaced families...don't hold your breath!

When Schoharie County flooded after Irene, FEMA offered trailers to those left homeless. Thing was though, the trailers could not be placed in any areas which might be prone to flooding, so many people declined the offer rather than leave the community.
