| In January of 2009, when President Obama took office, the unemployment rate was 7.8%. Four years and around $5 trillion dollars in debt later, it's 7.9%. When Obama took office the long-term unemployment (U-6) rate was 14.2%. Today, it's 14.6%. Obama promised us 5.2%. And, still, the media celebrates the jobs numbers. If you weren't watching the cable nets, consider yourself lucky. It was nauseating. CNN's Erin Burnett and Soledad O'Brien were practically jumping out of their chairs. Need I even describe MSNBC? Keep in mind that the media collective isn't thrilled because

7.9% unemployment is higher than 7.8%, and, like 14.6% U-6 is more than 14.2%, so hasn't Obama done better than Booosh? Obama has also made gasoline more valuable, and electricity, healthcare and food more valuable. Isn't that gooder than having low prices for these essential things? Otherwise, peoples would waste them. Just think how more valuable these things will be if Obama is reelected: we'll be just like Venezuela and Zimbabwe, two other countries with dictators for life. Just like us! Moochelle in 2016 and 2020! B.O. has driven me mad.

I guess I should be a happy camper. I haven't gotten a raise in two years and starting in January I will lose my health insurance because the premiums have been raised $4000 which would bring my contribution to $800 a month. Thanks obamacare! My husband lost his job and is working part time and my son cannot find a job in his field. He is now clearing less than $10,000 a year. That doesn't get you very far (and he is a college graduate). Thank you Erin and Soledad I didn't realize I had it so good. Thanks for the attitude adjustment, ladies. We are barely paying our bills and buying groceries. I guess I will party tonight instead of worrying nonstop about what the hell I am going to do to make ends meet.

Yeah, I'm really happy working my behind off for 30% of my former salary. My husband has been picking up odd contracts here and there. We have a bankruptcy hearing in a couple of weeks and will lose the house that we have paid diligently on for 13 years and will have to walk away with nothing. Yeah, hooray! I can see November 6 from the wreckage of my life.

Let’s take a step back and recognize the breadth and width of the Obama administration’s assault on the US economy. We tend to divide ourselves along economic lines, upper, middle and lower or working class. It’s clear that Barack Obama has a plan for all three levels. If you’re a top earner, in his mind you’ve “made enough money” and should pay more in taxes. That’s his plan for the wealthy: Pay more taxes. This will take some money out of investments and companies and send it to the government. Some jobs will be either lost or aborted.

One of the least remarked upon aspects of President Obama’s inaugural speech was his attempt to co-opt the Founding Fathers’ Declaration of Independence to bolster his liberal-left agenda. Do you remember the tale of "The Gingerbread Man"? It´s a children´s story in which a gingerbread man runs away from the baker, lots of people try to catch him as he crows, "Run, run as fast as you can/ You can´t catch me I´m the gingerbread man." In the version I remember a fox finally does catch the braggart and eats him piece by piece. This week, in defending the public statements of his UN Ambassador Susan Rice, Obama said we should come after him, not her. Pugnacious remark -- just like the gingerbread man´s.

I have never been so unhappy to be right. I've long said that Barack Obama would win re-election, and two weeks ago I stated as much in print. In making this prediction, I was almost alone among traditionalist pundits, with some, such as Dick Morris (Mr. Batting Zero), actually forecasting a Mitt Romney landslide. And, no, I'm not pointing this out to numb despair with some perverse kind of gloating, like a man consumed in flames looking to suck on an ice cube. It's because of why I knew that Romney would lose: America is lost.
