Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year. In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100. The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa.
This first thing I wondered was if he was up for re-election, and of course, he is. I don't like these "surprises" regardless of party affiliation. He may be a rat, but to bring it out now, looks bad for the challenger. I say it will backfire.
New Jersey has enough to worry about right now. This will look petty and desperate.
Don't know what the "problem" is. Such "activity" is considered a resume enhancer by the demonrat party. In fact, I believe being a low-life-womanizing-loser is in the job description and a requirement to be a "senator" in the demonrat party.
After the way the Governor of NJ acted the last two days, in blessing the G_D -like President for doing the job he is hired to do, the whole thing plain stinks. While Christie was kissing Obama's butt, many 1000's of people were stuck, stranded, decimated, you name it. If the two egomaniacs could get off TV and do their jobs, people might have a chance to get their lives back together sooner. Their burlesque act make me sick to my stomach. I don't muck like the mayor of NYC but at least he had the common sense to tell the President NO, stay away, and take care of your job from D>C>, the way you are supposed to. The way the NJ Governor acted was unbelievable, especially when other states are in desperate straits also. Bipartisanship ship my butt. Obama has none in his DNA. Christie acted like a fool,in my opinion. He should go take lessons from the Governor of Lousiana, who knows how to conduct himself, and be a leader.
According to this web site http://gocaribbean.about.com/od/healthandsafety/a/Caribbeansex_2.htm prostitution is legal in the DR and since Menendez isn't married where's the scandal? The possibility that he ripped off the ladies of the evening might make him look bad, but that's what democrats do, look bad.
It's a little late for an 'October surprise', but what the heck.
This guy is a weasel-faced RAT! On his Wiki entry, there's a whole list of "controversies" he's been involved with. And I just love this: "A poll released by CBS and the New York Times in 2006 asked participants to name the first thing that came to their minds when hearing Menendez's name: the top answer given was “corruption” or “crooked”."
So that worthless mouth on the federal fisc, Moon Man Menendez, has the fire down below. Who knew or even suspected? Or cared? Hey, senator, aren't you supposed to agree on the tariff before dropping trou? Ain't it just like a Democrat to short change a horizontal performance artist after the fact? What a scum bucket Menendez is.
I can just see all the other Dim senators crowding around Menendez, looking at him with adoration and asking him "Hey man, just how did you get away with stiffing those "broads" $400? We'd all like to know"!
I’m sure he had simply and inadvertently drawn down his “hooker” account below the level of his last transaction and he just didn’t have enough cash to pay the girls. Easily fixed with an immediate deposit. Now move on, nothing more to see here . . . I mean for goodness sake couldn’t anybody have made this innocent mistake?
I do not like this type of politics-bringing out accusations right before the election. I don't know anything about this fellow-or whether their is truth to it or not. It's easy to make up a story & hope it sticks-the Dems have been doing it for years! As to whether it would affect the election-I can't imagine that it would. Democrats seem to expect this from their leaders, how else would you explain Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, etc.

If it were close, it might put Joe Kyrillos (a good man, but didn't ace it in the one critical debate) over the top, but Menendez has something like a 20 point lead, and the corrupt NJ media has squashed any mention of this.
I think the real crime here is that we have plenty of working women here willing to do the job. But, no, this senator has to send jobs overseas. Really, what's wrong with Admiral Wilson Boulevard there senator?
Doesn't matter. The NJ Supreme Court will allow Jon Corzine to replace Menendez at the last minute, stating that NJ voters MUST have a choice! Worst logic ever when they allowed Torricelli to be replaced by Lautencadaver at the last minute...
All the out of US party payment gaffs merely reflect the fact that all democrats connected to Obe's coat tails are as poor at business as he. They think in money exchange rates the women s think in American cash. Hmm do they have to sign a sort of pay for play agreement?
I'm with you #28. Where's the scandal. This activity only started a couple of weeks ago..., er millenia ago. And, this isn't the first time claims have been made that were not the original agreement in this industry.
Also, a guy who shoots and kills his wife and three others in a hair salon and injures several more is an "alleged" assailant. A guy with a couple tons of dope in a truck is an "alleged" trafficer. Yet this guy positively stiffed these girls for $400 bucks. Strange someone joker just now found them. I wonder if he coughed up his $400 or did he stiff them also.
Documents provided to the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform reveal that the Obama administration knew of security vulnerabilities within Healthcare.gov prior to Oct. 1, but launched the website anyway. Chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) said Health and Human Services (HHS) officials showed a “disturbing lack of judgment” by going ahead with the site’s launch and putting Americans’ personal information at risk. Results of a security assessment conducted by a contractor on the site, MITRE Corporation, found that 19 security vulnerabilities remained unaddressed on Oct. 1. Eleven of the 19 vulnerabilities “significantly impact the confidentiality, integrity and/or availability of the system data,”
President Obama is now hoping that the gay community will "come out" and sign up for the embattled Obamacare plan, as a new video pandering to "the boys" has just been released to help with enrollment. Warning!! Refrain from eating anything at least one hour before or after watching this video.
The New York Times reports Thursday morning that President Obama will use his pardoning powers to commute the sentences of eight federal inmates convicted of crack cocaine offenses. Each of the inmates has reportedly been imprisoned for at least 15 years, with six of them being sentenced to life terms. This marks the first time Obama has used his powers of constitutional clemency of crack cocaine offenders who’d have seen reduced sentences anyhow under the 2011 law that significantly lowered the sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine offenses. “If they had been sentenced under the current law, many of them would
Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson has been suspended from the reality program but his fans are taking action. A&E suspended Robertson following remarks he made in the January issue of GQ magazine where he says homosexuality is a sin along with bestiality and promiscuity. Fans have turned to the social media to oppose the suspension, there are at least seven variations of “Bring Back Phil Robertson” pages on Facebook. The most popular among them had 300,000 likes as of early Thursday morning. The leading “Bring Back Phil Robertson” Facebook page features a link to a Change.org petition calling on A&E networks to
On Wednesday, Jonah Goldberg, National Review Online editor-at-large, joined Fox News Channel’s Bill Hemmer to discuss the White House announcing recently that a former Microsoft executive will take over as the person in charge of overseeing repairs to the Affordable Care Act’s federal health insurance exchange website. Goldberg observed that the roll-out of the ACA has been such a failure that, according to polls, even the uninsured are turning on the program. “It’s like people who go to a soup kitchen and they don’t like the soup,” he said. “The problem is that it’s a smart move after a very
The A&E network has suspended Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan, for perceived anti-gay remarks in a recent GQ interview. While discussing God, sin, and repentence, Robertson was asked what he found to be sinful: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there," he says. "Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men…Don´t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won´t inherit the kingdom of God. Don´t deceive yourself. It´s not right. The reaction from
The British tabloid News of the World hacked Kate Middleton´s phone while she was dating Prince William, a prosecutor told a London court Thursday in a trial of the defunct newspaper´s executives, according to the British Press Association. In one voicemail message that William left Kate -- the transcript of which was read in court by the prosecutor -- the prince calls his future wife "Babykins" and says he was almost shot by blank rounds during a military training exercise, the PA reported. The date of the message wasn´t immediately clear, though the couple weren´t yet married at the time, the PA
Ted Cruz stood on the floor of the Senate and answered his critics: “….do you expect me to remain here silent, or to shrink from the discharge of my duty?… I will speak in spite of all the intimidations, or threats, or discountenances that may be thrown upon me.” Actually, Ted Cruz did not say that. But the fact that it is so easily believable that he did say it says exactly why Ted Cruz, Time magazine’s selection of the Pope notwithstanding, is the real “Man of the Year.” In fact, while Cruz did make Time’s shortlist, he also popped up
If you write about American politics for a living, stop right there. Get back to work, and don’t read another damn word. Sign out of Twitter, say “thanks but no thanks” to a dayside cable hit, get off your ass, go outside and listen to folks beyond the same 200 know-it-alls in Washington and New York who share your affinity for snark, views on Game of Thrones and predictions for next year’s Senate race in a state only a handful of you have ever set foot in. The 140-character slap-fight you’re in the middle of with another reporter who has never worked
"Top journalists from The New York Times, NBC News and CNN acknowledged Wednesday that, generally speaking, the national media has a liberal bias," Politico´s media reporter Dylan Byers noted in a December 18 post recapping a Politico Playbook breakfast discussion held earlier on Wednesday morning. More than one panelist opined that it´s not just that journalists tend to be liberal on policy questions but that they live and work in environments which are socially liberal. "I live in northwest Washington, none of my neighbors are evangelical Christians [and] I don´t know a lot of people in my kid´s preschool who are
NEW YORK -A breach of credit and debit card data at discount retailer Target may have affected as many as 40 million shoppers who went to the store in the three weeks after Thanksgiving, the retailer said Thursday. Late Wednesday, the Secret Service, which is charged with safeguard the nation´s financial infrastructure and payment systems, confirmed it was investigating the breach.
Congratulations are in order for Elie Wisel for his advertisement calling on Congress to strengthen sanctions on Iran. The ad doesn’t go as far as the Sun would go, in that it wants President Obama and Congress to demand “as a condition of continued talks” the “total dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and the regime’s public and complete repudiation of all genocidal intent against Israel.” We oppose negotiations with the mullahs outright, preferring instead a strategic aim of regime change and democratization. But the statement by Mr. Wiesel, and the highly public way in which he is making it, are
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E´s "Duck Dynasty," won´t be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after slamming gays in a magazine interview. In the January issue of GQ, Robertson said homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man´s anus. That´s just me. I´m just thinking: There´s more there! She´s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know
A&E broke its silence on Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments late Wednesday. The cable network announced Robertson is off the hit show for the time being. The network issued the following statement to EW: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
President Barack Obama sent Russia a clear message about its treatment of gays and lesbians with who he is — and isn’t — sending to represent the United States at the Sochi Olympics. Billie Jean King will be one of two openly gay athletes in the U.S. delegation for the opening and closing ceremonies, Obama announced Tuesday. For the first time since 2000, however, the U.S. will not send a president, former president, first lady or vice president to the Games. Russia has come under fierce criticism for passing national laws banning “gay propaganda.” Though the White House did not specifically address
The gay and lesbian rights group GLAAD is slamming ´Duck Dynasty´ patriarch Phil Robertson for comments he made about homosexuality to GQ magazine, and challenging the show´s network, A&E, to take action against its most popular star. In a wide-ranging interview, Robertson shared his thoughts on homosexuality and religion. After stating in very graphic terms his preference for heterosexual sex over homosexual sex, Robertson launched into more thoughts about homosexuality and sinning. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong... Sin becomes fine,” he said.
Yes, she really said it. On CNN’s Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, “We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn´t say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah” (video follows with transcript and commentary): PIERS MORGAN, HOST: You have interviewed every president of my lifetime. Why is Obama facing so much opposition now? Why is he struggling so much to really fulfill the great flame of ambition and excitement that he was elected on originally in 2009?
Everyone is doing thoughtful year-end pieces on President Obama. Writers and reporters agree he’s had his worst year ever. I infer from most of their essays an unstated but broadly held sense of foreboding: There’s no particular reason to believe next year will be better, and in fact signs and indications point to continued trouble. I would add that in recent weeks I have begun to worry about the basic competency of the administration, its ability to perform the most fundamental duties of executive management. One reason I worry is that I frequently speak with people who interact with the White
O ne year removed from re-election, President Obama´s approval rating has sunk to the lowest level of his presidency. Furthermore, Obama´s popularity among the Democratic Party base — whose rejuvenated support proved crucial last November — took a huge hit this past year. Only 54 percent of self-described liberals "very strongly" approve of Obama´s job performance, according to a Pew survey released this week. That´s down from an all-time high of nearly 90 percent, and a significant decline from the 73 percent who strongly approved of the president back in June. Why the steep drop? Well, the first year of Obama´s second term
John Podesta was just named as a new senior-level adviser to President Obama last week, but he´s already ruffling Republican feathers. In a profile published late Tuesday night by Politico Magazine, Podesta is quoted comparing Republicans to the infamous cult led by Jim Jones, who was responsible for the 1978 cyanide poisoning of more than 900 of his followers in Guyana. "They need to focus on executive action given that they are facing a second term against a cult worthy of Jonestown in charge of one of the houses of Congress," said Podesta of what Obama´s White House team faces.
Hours after we reported that Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson dropped some illogical “logic” on homosexuality during his GQ interview, his home network A&E decided to indefinitely suspend him from the show. While Robertson’s comments were hilariously ignorant, they were predictable — especially given his family’s socially-conservative, Bible-loving image. Suspending the lead character for his wholly predictable comments is not only an overreaction but a gross misstep. To recap: The Duck Commander patriarch remarked to the men’s magazine that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, and used fifth-grade “logic” to imply that homosexual men should give up their ways of choosing a
The U.S. Army War College, which molds future field generals, has begun discussing whether it should remove its portraits of Confederate generals — including those of Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. Nestled in rural Pennsylvania on the 500-acre Carlisle Barracks, the war college is conducting an inventory of all its paintings and photographs with an eye for rehanging them in historical themes to tell a particular Army story. During the inventory, an unidentified official — not the commandant, Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Cucolo III — asked the administration why the college honors two generals who fought against the United States,
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ. "We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely." The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview
The Ivy-League educated half-brother of President Obama is publishing his autobiography in which he makes the shocking claim their father dished out alcohol-fueled beatings to him and his mother and in one terrifying instance held a knife to her throat. Mark Obama Ndesandjo, 48, also uses his new book to set the U.S. president straight on inaccuracies he claims exist in his best-selling 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father and confirms they have never seen eye-to-eye because ´Barack thought I was too white and I thought he was too black.´ The self-published book, Cultures: My Odyssey of Self-Discovery, which will be
