Obama Just Does Not
Like People Very Much

American Thinker, by Ed Lasky

Original Article

Many Americans find repellent a president who condescends to them, patronizes them, scolds and berates them. Such a president does not show that he cares about them. Despite hagiographic media coverage in the 2008 campaign and beyond, Barack Obama is being perceived as such a man by a large number of Americans. When candidate Barack Obama spoke about "the bitter clingers" (or dismissed farmers' concerns about their livelihood by suggesting that they grow arugula -- a modern-day "let them eat cake"), these were not mere gaffes.

It's not so much that Obama doesn't like people, as that he has no respect for them and is easily annoyed when they get in the way of his plans. I guess you could say it amounts to about the same thing, except that when people are admiring and applauding and agreeing with him, he likes them OK. It's only when they don't agree or -worse still- criticize and interfere with whatever he is doing that he actively dislikes them. The rest of the time he just has contempt or disdain for those who are beneath him. Since everyone is beneath him(in his opinion), it is fair to say that he has contempt and disdain for people.

Nevertheless, Barack Obama needs people. He doesn't need them in the usual sense, as objects of love and friendship, companions, sources of consolation and support, opportunities to learn etc. He needs people, not as ends in themselves but as means to an end. People are the parts and tools and objects that Barack Obama needs to fulfill his grandiose fantasies of omnipotence and omniscience.

It is old news by now that Barack Obama exhibits all the signs of pathological narcissism. This means, among other things, that everything he does is principally about him, not what he is doing. It is all ego, all the time. Being president is about being swell. Proposing programs and fundamentally transforming the U.S. is about being swell. Pretending to care about others is about being swell. If a narcissist like Obama could be swell without having to rely on other people they would not hesitate to drop the people and be swell all on their own. It is what they would really prefer, actual people being what they are and all.

I guess that explains every poll we have suffered through since 2009 . It seemed like we were told every hour on the hour that the vast majority of us ' liked him personally'. Turns out we were just posting bond to stay out of PC prison.

Well said #1. Ego and narcissm fill OBAMA's being, there is no room for anyone else. His feigned concern for others is only his carnival act to keep himself at the top of the pedestal. A ver high pedestal that he has placed himself upon.
And the higher the pedestal, the farther he will fall next week. The American people do not want a king or emporer. Yet that is how Obama sees himself. Alas, false dreams from himself have failed yet another. Goodbye Obama, Hello Mitt, please make some changes quickly.

First, Obama is not likable. I don't like him. Second, everything he says is a lie. Third, the is not articulate. Speaking in broken sentences is not articulation. Fourth, the man is not intelligent. He knows nothing but Marxian biases and muslim nonsense. Fifth, Obama is not presidential. He acts like a petulant teenager. Sixth, the man is a disaster at foreign relations and diplomacy. Dictators taunt his weakness and laugh at him.

When Paul Audley took the job as president of FilmL.A. in late 2008, he was astounded to discover that physical production on the $70 million pic “Battle: Los Angeles” wasn’t being done in Los Angeles.“It stunned me that the movie was shooting in Louisiana, and that the state of California was letting this happen,” he recalls. In the subsequent five years, the situation has only worsened, despite the film production incentive program California enacted in 2009, which provides for $100 million a year in tax credits for what’s usually 20% of production costs. Nothing better depicted Obama´s illegal tampering with the clear words of ObamaCare -- his announcement this week that he was delaying the employer mandate for medium-sized companies -- than Michael Ramirez´ brilliant cartoon showing the law as a blank page in which Obama had continually changed its words and meaning. Along similar lines, Charles Krauthammer observes: But generally speaking you get past the next election by changing your policies, by announcing new initiatives, but not by wantonly changing the law lawlessly. This is stuff you do in a banana republic. It´s as if the law is simply a blackboard on which Obama

In the business world, a diligent board of directors would have long ago fired CEO Obama. Sometimes it takes only a year of less than expected earnings to result in the termination of a corporate CEO. A couple of underperforming years and a few reasons more, and a CEO would have his bags packed and stowed underneath his buck-stopping desk. A long list of problems -- especially one suggesting even a hint of fraud -- that fails to generate a satisfactory board response would stir shareholders and lenders to demand the resignation of not only the CEO and other key employees,

This week the big story was the tag end of the old JournoList gang trying to spin gold out of the dross of the Congressional Budget Report. The CBO report projected that by 2021 under ObamaCare more than 2 million full-time workers will find it financially advisable to quit work entirely or switch to part-time jobs in order to get more subsidies for healthcare insurance. To most of us who studied real economics or just paid attention to human nature, subsidizing indolence means you´ll get more of it. Contradicting the faultless, albeit far-fetched image he has of himself, Barack Obama is a man harassed by truth. That´s why, judging from his inability to accept personal responsibility, Barack Obama must be living in a constant state of agitated cognitive dissonance. The late Leon Festinger is the social psychologist who proposed the theory of cognitive dissonance. According to Festinger, until the person suffering with perceptual disharmony can find a way to justify wrong actions and decisions, it´s impossible to achieve a calm mental state, especially when those wrong actions and decisions challenge the way the cognitively dissonant individual sees himself.

In 1994 or early 1995 the still unknown Barack Obama sent his editor at Times Books, Henry Ferris, the first two-thirds of his memoir Dreams from My Father. He told Ferris that to complete the book, he had to return to Kenya to do some research. The evidence strongly suggests that Obama went not to Kenya to do that research but to the local library to do some borderline plagiarizing. In the way of background, Barack and Michelle Obama visited Kenya in the summer of 1992 and married in October of that year. There is little dispute about the timing of

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers. So, Lois Lerner still won´t talk about her role in the illegal targeting and harassment by the IRS of conservative and Tea Party groups seeking 501(c)(4) tax exemptions. Lerner appeared for a second time Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and claimed her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself. It isn´t hard to figure out why Lerner´s lips are sealed. First, she knows the House of Representatives can cite her for contempt of Congress, but Attorney General Eric Holder would decide whether she is prosecuted on that charge.
