| President Barack Obama is leaving the White House Thursday for the campaign trail in Colorado, Nevada and Wisconsin. Colorado and Nevada have long been seen by his campaign as states that can carry him over the 270-vote threshold, but Wisconsin has been viewed as a safe state for his campaign. Yet polls show a narrowing Obama advantage in the state. On Oct. 25, Rasmussen showed a tie with Gov. Mitt Romney at 49 percent. Obama is slated to attend a rally at Green Bay, Wisc. Vice President Joe Biden is also slated to hold is also slated to hold two events in the state Nov. 2.

Let me speak as someone who, much to my disgust, lives in a swing state. Every time Zero or his Bozo of a Veep swings by my area, tying up traffic, using up local money to pay overtime to cops and clean-up crews, generally making life miserable for all us poor schmucks who actually have to drive to work, I have to believe his popularity in the state goes down. So, enjoy it while it lasts, Wisconsin. I for one cannot wait to get my streets, radio, television, and telephone back to some semblance of normal while I impatiently wait for January 21.

Every now and then a DemocRAT tells the truth. Almost always by mistake. Case in point:
“We have not turned out the vote early.” The suburbs and rural parts of Wisconsin – the Republican base – are voting. President Obama’s base has yet to go vote. We’ve got to get our people to go vote.”

President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out. Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday struggled to draw 1,000 people at two campaign events in Colorado, one of the most important swing states this election. Republicans in Colorado have said they have not seen this much enthusiasm for the top of a Republican ticket in a decade, which is a contrast from Democrats, who are seeing a diminished level of enthusiasm from 2008. The Illinois Republican party claims early and absentee voting has precipitously fallen since the 2008 presidential election. According to the numbers, at this point in 2008, there were 260,376 early voters and 304,290 absentee voters. Now, the party maintains, there are 195,064 early voters and 46,232 absentee voters. Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
