| What more does anyone need to know than that Americans are under attack before ordering a military response to suppress the attack and possibly rescue our people? Even if the initial response isn't exactly what you'd want it to be, even if you don't have every asset available that you might in a perfect world, isn't it your duty -- whether you're a lowly second lieutenant or the Secretary of Defense -- to do everything you can as quickly as you can?

Can you imagine a US military officer or War Department official in 1941 saying during the attack on Pearl Harbor that he did not want to send in re-inforcements to the Pacific because the situation was 'too confused'?

Panetta's remark was just plain baffling.
In emergency situations, police or military hardly never have all the information. But that doesn't mean that they don't act...and firefighters enter buildings without much information....
It is time for Panetta to just stay in california for good. The taxpayers are paying tens of thousands of dollars each week, so that Leon can commute from california to D.C.
Appoint retired general Honore to Leon's job.

That level of rational thinking went out the window on April 20, 1999, when shooting victims were allowed to die without medical care, while police sat idly by for hours -- waiting for a guarantee of their personal safety.
We live in a different world, where government careerists are rarely motivated to risk their career prospects in order to do the right thing.

A caller to Bill Bennett's show asked a great question this morning. If our two brave SEALS saved 20-30 people from the consulate, where are they and why haven't they spoken up about what happened? Have they, too, been gagged?

It's not that the White House didn't act on the information it was receiving during the seven-hour Benghazi attack.
It DID act by giving the order to our military, three times, to ''Stand Down!''
Why was that decision made? That's what our malfeasant MSM should be asking our malfeasant Secretary of Defense, not be standing back as they are and allowing the SecDef to make a rambling defense of his indefensibly treasonous act of aiding and abetting our terrorist enemies by standing aside to give them free rein to demolish one of our consulates and murder four Americans.

As huge a scandal as the Benghazi incident is, it's not possible for it to become an issue in the election unless Mitt Romney makes it one. So far, he hasn't and he isn't likely to in the final week of the campaign.
