Obama chases after youth vote as

Barack Obama today made a new attempt to shore up the youth vote with a live interview on MTV. The President sat down at the White House with anchor Sway Calloway and delivered a careful pitch based around youth-friendly topics such as climate change, college tuition and gay marriage. He also opened up about his personal life, revealing that he has banned his daughter from using Facebook for security reasons, and talking about his anguish at seeing his friends' family members die in gun violence in Chicago. The questions for

Comments:
He is such a disgrace and the most undignified president we have ever had. It is just pathetic to see him sitting in the White House conducting this sham of an interview as if it's a serious, comprehensive interview. If you scroll down through the pictures you have to wonder how some little kid was able to access and play with the White House phone. Nothing is held sacred with the regime. That should never have been allowed.

I guess he's decided that the "old" folks can see thru his BS & will have to settle for the youth vote........if they bother to vote.

OP, I'm not so sure he would qualify as "the most undignified president we have ever had." He and his juvenile brother WJClinton would probably give each other quite a run for that title.

Governor Christie

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced his intention to expand his state’s gun control laws. But there’s some flaws to his logic. Christie acknowledges there is no way to prevent all violence in our society, but he says it is the job of government to question, to scrutinize and to demand more in an attempt to address the problem. Christie believes the government has the right to “demand more” from law-abiding citizens, but acknowledges it can’t do the same to criminals. This is standard gun control fare. One of the main features of gun control

FBI interviewed dead Boston

The FBI admitted Friday they interviewed the now-deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev two years ago and failed to find any incriminating information about him. As first reported by CBS News correspondent Bob Orr, the FBI interviewed Tsarnaev, the elder brother of at-large bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, at the request of a foreign government to see if he had any extremist ties, but failed to find any linkage. Both Tsarnaev brothers were legal permanent residents of the U.S. There is no evidence so far that either brother received any tactical training.

Boston bombs: Obama lulled

In his State of the Union address to the American people earlier this year, Barack Obama declared that he was "confident" of achieving "our objective of defeating the core of al-Qaeda". Although he acknowledged the need to pursue the "remnants" of the terrorist group and its affiliates, the overall message was clear – al-Qaeda was badly degraded, the tides of war were receding and the US was winning this fight that was no longer even officially a war. The Boston bombings would appear to present a fundamental challenge to that assessment and once again bring the nagging uncertainty of

In the middle of Fox News’ coverage of the ongoing manhunt in the Boston area for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing, Chris Wallace chimed in with a political take. Commenting the region that is under a firm lockdown, Wallace questioned whether the residents in those neighborhoods “might like a gun” to protect themselves. “There are so many issues here,” Wallace said, noting the various pieces of information we don’t know (such as: Did the suspects see the information the FBI released?). He then offered one an example of an issue “we’ll be talking about Sunday.”

Immigration Bill Is a

The contentious immigration bill (S. 744) put together by the Senate Gang of Eight is a spending Trojan Horse with several provisions that simply declare open season on spending, allowing agencies to spend “as necessary.” The bill exploits a loophole in the Budget Control Act (BCA) that allows Congress to spend more than allowed under the spending caps adopted in 2011. By designating spending in the immigration bill as “emergency requirements,” the bill would enable lawmakers to spend billions outside existing budget enforcement procedures. There is no objective standard for emergency requirements, which is why the practice has been

At a House Armed Services Committee hearing this week, U.S. Marine Corps Commandant General James Amos admitted that the Marines will be “very, very strained to be a one-MCO [major contingency operation] Marine Corps” under sequestration budget cuts. MCOs refer to the ability to engage in a major war or conflict. The U.S. has maintained a strategy to be able to engage in two such MCOs simultaneously since the Cold War. However, when the Obama Administration released its strategic guidance last year, that requirement was reduced to the ability to win one conflict while deterring or holding off another.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel announced Wednesday that he has ordered the deployment of U.S. troops to work with Jordan’s military to “improve readiness and prepare for a number of scenarios” related to Syria. The Army will send up to 200 personnel, including intelligence and communications specialists, from the headquarters of the 1st Armored Division, based at Fort Bliss, Texas. Although initially tasked with playing a support role in assisting Jordan in developing contingency plans for mitigating the destabilizing spillover effects of Syria’s civil war, the troops could “potentially form a joint task force for military operations, if ordered.”

Friday morning, the entire city of Boston was put in lockdown. Residents were warned to "shelter in place," meaning staying locked in their homes, answering only to uniformed law enforcement personnel. Hundreds of police swarmed through the city, tracking a violent terror suspect who is possibly armed with explosives with a clear intent to kill. The situation is a reminder of why millions of Americans cherish their right to own guns to protect themselves and their families. Gun control advocates mistakenly assume Americans cherish their 2nd Amendment

The sympathetic portrayal of the men — who murdered three civilians, including a child, wounded 180 people, murdered one unsuspecting police officer and wounded another officer — was met with quick condemnation on social media networks. Since The Daily Caller’s Jim Treacher took a screen-grab of the article, the Times changed the layout of the page to one more seemingly aware of the hundreds of victims and their friends and families, the entire United States and much of the non-terrorist planet: The new page does not contain the phrases “war-torn” or “trying to fit in.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee has just completed a hearing — if you can call it that — on the Schumer-Rubio (et al.) immigration reform legislation. The hearing lasted for about two hours and was limited to one round of questions for two witnesses — economist Douglas Holtz-Eakin (who supports the bill) and Peter Kirsanow of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission (who opposes it). Both witnesses were good. But, as Kirsanow testified, they had received the nearly 900-pager only about two days ago, and thus lacked anything close to enough time to review and analyze it sufficiently.

Yesterday, the most modest of gun control proposals died in the Senate. It would have expanded background checks to people purchasing weapons at gun shows and online sales, enjoyed 90 per cent support among the public and came on the back of the tragedy at Newtown. Yet, despite all that it had going for it, the Toomey-Manchin bill raised just 54 votes--six short of the number necessary for passage. “This is a pretty shameful day for Washington,” said Obama afterwards. It wasn’t exactly a red letter day for him, either. Why did the no-brainer bill fail? Four reasons:

We are still speculating about virtually everything right now, but I feel as though I need to explain why I find the quick and easy conversation about Muslims being radicalized in America to be so illogical and laced with bigotry. Of course, there is a global violent jihadist movement, loosely organized, that wants to recruit young men to influence policies at home and abroad and perhaps usher in the global caliphate. That ideology motivates some Muslims to kill innocent people. But you´re allowed to be a radical Muslim in America.

While the media are bearing the brunt of public skepticism over the handling of the Boston bombing, the behavior of government is also eroding public trust. Yesterday´s promised but cancelled news briefing is just one symptom. Andrew McCarthy of PJM notes that "Misinformation rather than enlightenment has been the order of the day in the investigation of Monday´s terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon," and that part of it is the natural outgrowth of the desire of investigators to keep the details of their investigations secret, so as not to alert suspects.

It failed to advance in the Senate, with a vote Wednesday afternoon of 54 to 46.
